How To Get Started Scrapbooking

Posted by: "TheDabblingMum.com" dabblingmum@yahoo.com   dabblingmum

Wed Feb 6, 2008 1:01 pm (PST)

Last December, my neighbor stopped by with her annual Christmas
treat. After my many thanks, we got to talking about scrapbooking.
She had been dying to get her photos out of boxes and into
scrapbooks, or even albums, but the idea was simply overwhelming. She
had never kept her photos organized and she's not even sure when most
of the photos were taken or where.

That's when I took her into my office and showed her the totes of
photos I have waiting to be scrapbooked and my table of "in progress"
work. I said to her, "You don't have to scrap like the photos in the
magazines you read. If you find that too overwhelming and you simply
want to get your photos into some kind of logical order, do what I'm
doing. You see, I love beautiful scrapbook pages and find them
fantastic works of art, but I have 12 years of photographs to
scrapbook and at 1-2 hours per page, I would get nowhere fast. So
I've opted for a shortcut."

I pick the best photos and divide them among three scrapbooks: mine,
my daughter's and my son's. The rest of the photos go into envelopes
with the names of relatives. When the envelope gets full, I seal it,
mail it, and start a new envelope. Then I glue as many photos on a
page as possible without looking too crowded. I leave room for short
sentences, dates, and names. I even leave room for fancy stickers and
simple doodles. Sure they won't win me the coveted Scrapbook
Designer's Award, but they showcase and safeguard precious memories.

And to keep from getting behind on today's photos, I use templates
provided by photo book companies like Photoworks.com or
MyPublisher.com. I upload my favorite photos, add dates, names, and
captions, place my order for two copies, and happily await the
arrival of my completed photo book.

In two hours' time I have a completed scrapbook worthy of admiration.
And the best part is that I can go back later and order more copies
for family gifts. Think grandparents, brothers and sisters, and long
distance friends who consider you family.

As far as the organization goes, my advice to her was simple. Go
through your photos and start three piles: your husband's family,
your family, and your immediate family (you, the husband, and your
kids). Then get a huge manila envelope or archival safe photo box and
place all the photos from your husband's family inside. Label it, and
put it aside. Do the same with your side of the family. Now all you
have to do is concentrate on your immediate family.

"That's still too large a job," she said. "That's years of photos.
What do you suggest I do? Sort by year, holiday, what? And what do I
do with photos that I can't remember when or where they were taken?"

I looked her straight in the eye and said, "Just start small. For
photos you have no clue about, put them into a boxed marked `Go
through with hubby'. For the rest of the photos, break them down
according to how you plan to scrapbook: by year, by age, by theme.
Since you have years of photographs, you could always do a holiday
scrapbook. Start with Valentine's Day, then Easter, then the 4th of
July, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and finally end with
Christmas. Then move onto a vacation scrapbook, a friends of the
family scrapbook, my favorite photo scrapbook, and soon you'll be
down to random photos that could easily end up as yearbook."

That's when she got excited and said, "That would be so much more fun
than going through a year's worth of photos and trying to scrap them.
By doing the themed albums, I get to see how much the kids have grown
and we can talk about family history. I like that."

And so a scrapbooker was born.

Review: Barbara Stanwyck Collection

Posted by: "TheDabblingMum.com" dabblingmum@yahoo.com   dabblingmum

Wed Feb 6, 2008 1:01 pm (PST)

The other night I had a Barbara Stanwyck marathon with my 13 year old
daughter. I had originally intended to watch the movies alone, but
when I started Annie Oakley she stopped, sat down, and began watching
it with me. To her surprise, "Old movies really aren't boring!"

You see, other than Abbott and Costello, Elvis Presley, and The
Little Rascals, getting her to watch anything old was like asking her
to sit through a boring history lesson. But Barbara Stanwyck really
caught her eye, as did the storylines.

The first time I even heard of Barbara Stanwyck was when she played
in the televised series, The Big Valley. Stanwyck played Victoria
Barkley, the widow of a wealthy cattle rancher and boy did she have
spunk! I loved her confidence, I loved her ability to make things
happen, and I loved the fact that she didn't pick favorites—even her
deceased's husband's illegitimate son became a part of her family. So
when the Signature Collection was offered for review, I couldn't
resist.

I have watched many versions of Annie Oakley over the years, and have
liked many of those versions, but Stanwyck's 1935 rendition tops my
list. In this rendition, Annie is a young woman who makes her living
killing fowl. A world famous sharpshooter arrives and Annie competes
against him. The reward money would have done her family a world of
good, but she chooses to allow him the honor of keeping his dignity
and misses the last shot. But no good deed goes unnoticed, Annie is
soon asked to join Wild Bill and his traveling Old West Pageant. And
that's when Annie falls in love…

My Reputation which originally aired in 1946 is about a woman who
discovers love after her husband's death but the gossip of friends
and her secrecy about the relationship nearly destroys her chances of
everlasting happiness and her relationship with her two adolescent
boys.

East Side, West Side aired in 1950 and is about a wealthy woman who
is married to an unfaithful man. While they have both agreed to give
the marriage a second try, they're both miserable. Love just isn't
enough for this happy couple and when an old fling arrives in town,
and is later found dead, things really get heated up.

Executive Suite aired in 1954 and is a great film about boardroom
politics and finding a successor for the Tredway Corporation since
the owner and president mysteriously died and left no one in charge
to take his place. However, the film doesn't give Stanwyck much of a
role so you don't see very much of her.

To Please A Lady aired in 1950. Stanwyck co-starred with heartthrob
Clark Gable. In To Please A Lady, Stanwyck plays a news reporter hell
bent on exposing Gable as a careless and wreckless race car driver,
but things take an interesting turn when the two "enemies" fall in
love.

Jeopardy aired 1953 and is an amazing thriller filled with lots of
suspense. A family of three set off to enjoy a relaxing, fun-filled
vacation along the Mexican coast only to be hit with one tragic event
after another. The young son becomes stranded on an abandoned pier,
the father is pinned under rotting timber when trying to rescue his
son, and the mother is kidnapped by the man whom she thought was
there to rescue her family. Honestly, I am not a big fan of today's
thrillers since they are nothing more than evil incarnate. But
Jeopardy took me by surprise. It was suspenseful, intriguing,
exciting, and scary all at the same time.

Yes, Barbara Stanwyck's Signature Collection is worth watching and
definitely worth buying. Order your own copy today!

School Bullies: Is Your Child At Risk?

Posted by: "TheDabblingMum.com" dabblingmum@yahoo.com   dabblingmum

Wed Feb 6, 2008 1:01 pm (PST)

What has this world come to when a child that defends himself against
a bully ends up with the same punishment? Or a child who breaks-up a
school fight ends up with suspension for physically pulling two kids
apart and not running for a teacher? Children today have much to fear
when they can't even defend themselves from assault, fear punishment
for doing the right thing, or worse—get beaten as innocent bystanders
do nothing at all.

A twelve year old boy—never in trouble, practically straight A's,
prides himself in staying the path of setting a good example, always
tries to be helpful and kind—is verbally picked on for a year by one
boy in general. When the parent asks if the boy wants to report it,
they boy replies, "No, I don't want to make things worse and besides,
they're only words." A year later, while playing a game of football,
on school grounds, the boy hits a ball out of interception and in the
process the balls hits they bully's friend in the eye. The bully's
friend pushes the boy, at which time the bully holds the boys hands
behind his back so that the "friend" could punch the boy in the face
four times. Then the "friend" pulls the boy's glasses off his head
and throws them fiercely on the ground. The boy hurt, upset,
humiliated, scared, and feeling as though he has to defend himself
fights back by throwing a few punches at the bully's friend, and a
swift kick in the stomach. The bully and his friend leave. The boy
had enough—being passive didn't keep him safe, but fighting back did
not feel right either.

The boy returns home from school that day and tells his parents of
the incident. The parents having had enough and fearing for their
son's safety go to the school for help. Little did they know that the
situation was going to get worse—their son might get suspended from
school for defending himself! And the police would have to be called
in because their son had a busted lip, which is physical evidence of
assault. Should the parents have kept silent? They no longer knew the
answer. Doing the right thing didn't seem so right anymore.

Was it right for their son to be bullied or assaulted? No. Was it
right for the parents to keep silent for so long? No. Maybe if the
school had known that the boy was getting picked-on early on, the
physical assault would never have happened. And just maybe having
that verbal abuse on record would not have ended this situation in
the "possible" suspension of their son. But how does a parent know
when a verbal assault—in which the child said wasn't worth even
listening to because he knew what was being said was untrue and
coming from an angry boy—will stay verbal or end up in physical
confrontation?

In today's society it is estimated that 1 in 4 children are bullied—
in school and out of school—on a daily basis. We, as parents, fail
our children if we do not have an open relationship with our children—
knowing that they can come to us in confidence and share their pain,
humiliation, and confusion. These parents had the right kind of
relationship with their son. He knew he could come to them and voice
his concerns without fear of retribution.

Where they failed their son, was in not reporting the verbal
assaults. The old saying, "sticks and stone may break my bones but
names will never hurt me" may be true. But in a society where
violence is showing up in the schools on a more alarming—and daily—
basis, it may seem that if the bully cannot get a rise out of the
words spoken, he (or she) will resort to physical violence.

Statistics, from the Bureau of Justice - School Crime and Safety,
show that a child is bullied on the playground every 7 minutes. And
that adults only intervene 4% of the time, while peers intervene 11%
of the time, and an astounding 85% of the time there is no
intervention at all.

When a child is bullied, it may be hard for the parents to speak up
for fear of repercussions from the other child's parents, the law, or
even that child, himself. But we, as parents, have to realize that
our child did nothing wrong, that we did nothing wrong for taking a
stand, and that while we are the victims in this incident, we don't
have to stay the victims. By standing up for our child, we are
letting our child know that he (or she) is valued, important, and
deserves to feel safe in his (or her) own school.

So the next time you see a child being bullied, report it. Call the
school and set up a meeting with the children involved—the school
counselor will then decide if the parents should be brought in. If
this meeting doesn't resolve the situation, don't be afraid to take a
legal stand. Children have the God-given right to feel safe and grow-
up happy—not beaten and scared.

Skin care is an important aspect of men's grooming. It's
important to take care of your skin. There are various ways you
can pamper your skin. Here are some basic tips you can follow
for that smooth and clear skin. Some of the basic things you can
do with your skin are cleansing, exfoliating, toning and
nourishing.

The first and foremost thing is cleaning your face by daily
washing your face with a soap free moisturizing face wash, which
is gentle on your skin. Cleansing product should be natural and
chemical free. To get that extra freshness refresh your skin
with cold water in which tealeaves have been boiled. It gives a
rejuvenating effect to your skin. This cleansing will protected
your skin from dust. You can also wipe your face clean with a
cleansing lotion.

Exfoliating is another important thing to protect your skin.
For that you need a good scrub, which will remove dead cells and
smooth the surface of your skin. A scrub with a moisturizing
effect won't tear the skin and also gives immediate results.

If your skin is dry don't use scrub regularly it makes your
skin more dry. To give your eyes a refreshing effects cut
cucumber in round slices and place them over your eyes or
alternatively dip used tea bags in salt water and put them in
the fridge and put a pair over your eyes after a tiring day. It
rejuvenates your eyes.

Toning up is another important step to maintain your skin
because you spend most of the time outside so pollution affects
your skin so toning keeps your face clear and firm.

Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxyl acids
work best for your skin. These acids actually reduce the pore
size and help avoid ingrown hairs. So these are some of the tips
you can try out to main your skin.

Other than this you can go for a facial once in a month after
the age of 25 to maintain your skin and to have a glowing
effect. You can also try a home facial, which includes giving
yourself a light facial massage with a soothing moisturizing
cream and ice cubes, followed by steaming your face. Then remove
white heads around the nose and chin with a remover and use a
good scrub. Use scrub depending on your skin type and wash off
with warm water.

Finally apply a soothing fruit mask and follow up with a
moisturizing lotion. A simple face pack can make your skin glow.

To have good skin it is important to drink 10 to 12 glasses of
water daily to flush toxins out of the system and keep your skin
hydrated. If you have skin related problems like acne and other
pimple problem than you can go for treatment.

And lastly it is important to have a proper balanced diet to
have a good and glowing skin. Your diet should include lots of
fruits and vegetables and you should also have multi vitamin
capsules. For any skin related problem you can consult a skin
specialist.

There are numerous goods and services for sale all over the
internet. Yet the only way anyone finds out about them is due to
effective marketing strategies being in place. This has opened
up plenty of opportunities for those who know the ropes as they
can operate a successful internet marketing business from their
home. In most instances all you need to do is place a couple of
advertisements about what you have to offer and you will get
plenty of responses coming in.

It is important to have a web page set up that tells them all
about what you have to offer. You want to provide as much
information as you can in order to get their questions answered
and to motivate them to hire you. Once you have completed a
couple of jobs in the area of online advertising, add
testimonials to your web page so they can hear the good things
other consumers have to say about your work.

While you will find there is plenty of competition out there in
the are of online marketing, you will also find there are
thousands of businesses out there struggling to get the right
types of advertising for their business in place. If you offer
quality services at a reasonable price you should have no
trouble getting your foot in the door. After that you will
quickly discover work of mouth travels fast in the work of the
internet and you may have to turn work away in order to keep up
with the demands of what you have already committed yourself to.

The great thing about being an online marketing provider is you
can decide how much you want to work. Some people are just
looking for something to do a couple of hours per day, and
making a few bucks in the process is nice. Others are hoping to
be able to quit their day job and work from home online offering
online marketing services. It is great to have a flexible work
schedule and to make a good living in the process.

There are plenty of benefits to having any type of home based
internet business. You will have the freedom to work when it
fits into your schedule. This is great if you have other
commitments, children, or you enjoy traveling. You will also be
able to take pride in the work you do benefiting your own pocket
book instead of another business that you work for.

Having your own home based internet business comes with plenty
of responsibility, but it is also very rewarding to be your own
boss. There will always be challenges to face and new
opportunities to take advantage of. This keeps your role in the
business important and interesting.

The less money you have to initially invest to get your home
based internet business off the ground the better off you will
be. This way most of your profits can go to paying bills,
expanding your business, or placed in savings instead of to
repay debts incurred to start your internet business. If you
take your role in the business seriously and work smart you will
be able to expand your sales and earn a nice profit regardless
of what goods or services you have to offer.

If you don't have your own products or services to offer,
consider the various affiliate programs available. This is a
concept that covers selling goods or services for someone else.
You do all the marketing and advertising for it and then earn a
good commission on the sales. You can also offer valuable skills
that online businesses need such as assistance with their
marketing and advertising campaigns.

Most people who engage in online work find it gives them a
sense of freedom that they have never experienced before. As
long as you are motivated and willing to try new approaches you
will enjoy working online. Make sure you establish goals for
your online business and celebrate your successes along the way.

What do you assume is the result if you neglect to keep your
furnace filter clean? Do you think that your furnace will be
able to run forever without problems using the same dirty filter
year after year? What do you think will happen when your furnace
filter becomes over saturated by dirt, pet hair, allergens and
dust? You are looking at more than the fan simply refusing to
run properly. A dirty furnace filter can be deadly, make you
sick or worse, causing your home to go up in flames.

When either your furnace or air conditioning unit are not being
maintained properly every six months or every year, dirt, dust
and other debris can build up inside causing serious problems in
the long run. Not only will you be paying more for heating if
your heating unit has to struggle harder to heat the same amount
of space but also run the risk of some pretty serious dangers
are also involved with not properly responding to a dirty
furnace filter. When your furnace and the motor in your air
conditioner become clogged by dirt and debris, that air is what
will be circulating through your home, rather than the clean,
fresh air that you once enjoyed. Your family will be breathing
in all these toxins that otherwise would have been sucked out of
the air by a clean or new furnace filter. If you continue to
breathe this bad air, there is the possibility you will become
sick. So if your family is sick and the cause cannot be found,
it might be time to replace your furnace filters and to restore
the clear air in your home. Learn more about furnace filters at
http://energyboomer.typepad.com/energyboomer/2007/07/a-clean-filter-.html.

After a few years worth of furnace filter neglect serious
things can possibly happen. Your furnace may simply break down
and you will be lucky if you could find a cheap replacement
part. If your heat exchanger becomes warped or cracked from the
unbearable heat build up within your furnace, noxious carbon
monoxide fumes may leak into your home, not only making you sick
but also potentially killing you and your entire family. Can you
imagine all of this, simply because you could not be bothered to
maintain your furnace filter?

Faulty furnaces have also been known to cause fires, all
because the furnace filter wasn't clean, and air couldn't
circulate properly through the furnace and throughout your home.
Clean up after a fire is incredibly expensive, and there is no
telling what damage you may in the process. What if your entire
house goes up in flames? What is a pet, or a family member is
trapped inside when it happens? Hopefully now changing out your
furnace filters or buying filters that are permanent and only
need to be cleaned seems like less of a trivial matter. You can
save yourself a lot of stress, a lot of health problems and a
whole lot of financial burden simply by keeping your furnace
filters clean, or replacing them often. If there is any doubt,
you can always contact a contractor who can check your furnace
and clean your filters if need be. Get more information on how
to keep your furnace filters clean by checking out
http://www.creativehomemaking.com/cleaning/furnace-air-filters.shtml.

With so many reasons to keep up on your furnace maintenance,
and no known reasons for why not to, you should take the next
few moments to check out the state of your furnace filter to
make sure that air is circulating properly through your home,
that your heat exchanger is still in one healthy, solid piece,
and that there is no risk or danger present that you could
easily have avoided.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
So you decided to create a little piece of heaven in your
backyard and purchased some gorgeous teak patio furniture to
fill it. A couple of Adirondack chairs and a table or two and
you are set to enjoy the simple pleasures of summer.

But before you leave your new furniture to the elements you
need to decide if you want to maintain its golden brown color or
let it age to a striking silvery gray patina. You see teak is
probably the strongest wood used in outdoor furniture today.
Grown in the jungles of Indonesia it is full of natural oils
that lend it water and rot resistance. Able to endure fifty
years or more in any weather it is often used in ship and bridge
building. When it arrives at your house in the shape of a chair
or table it will be a shade of warm golden gray that will fade
eventually.

In order to maintain its true color you need to treat it right
away with teak protector. This will help hold in the wood's
natural oils maintaining the golden glow it came with. Every
year you will have to retreat your teak patio furniture with the
teak protector to ensure it stays a nice warm brown.

Some don't much care about the color and just leave their
furniture to deal with Mother Nature unprotected. This is not a
problem with teak because of the aforementioned oils. It is
almost impervious to rain, sun, sleet or snow. But its color
will fade. Most people like the aged look teak gets after a few
years, but if you wish you could return it to its original
color, you can. Simply treat your teak patio furniture with a
teak cleaner to remove the silver gray patina. Once the golden
color is back treat it with a teak protector. Again as before,
you need to retreat it annually with the protector to keep it
that warm golden brown that you reminds you of your vacation in
the Caribbean.

Those are really the only two colors your teak patio furniture
can be. Most paints will not adhere to teak because of the
naturally occurring oils. If you really wanted to paint it you
would need to go to a marine or boat store and see if they have
anything that will not compromise the innate qualities of your
teak furniture.

No matter what shade or look you want your outdoor furniture to
have the most important thing is that you will be able to use
and enjoy it. Whether that's enjoying the sunrise and a morning
cup of java on the deck or sharing your garden's bounty and some
good wine with some great friends, is up to you. Teak furniture
is an investment in the good life.

Your chairs and tables might be around longer than you are, but
as long as you enjoyed their comfort and durability that
shouldn't matter. Golden brown or silvery gray teak furniture is
the best choice to create a little bit of paradise of your own.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
For those patients who suffer with the chronic condition of
Crohn's disease is vital to consider all treatment options when
trying to manage this often life-altering disease.

An often asked question is can diet control Crohn's disease?
When you have a condition that can so negatively impact your
daily life, believe me, you will look at all the options,
including diet that might possibly help to control your
condition and give you your life back.

So it really is a great question. Can diet control Crohn's
disease? It seems the jury is still out on that question.

While there are some great dietary guidelines for a Crohn's
disease diet such as avoiding raw or fried foods, adding a lean
proteins and eliminating any foods to which you seem to have a
sensitivity, there seems to be absolutely no hard and fast rules
when it comes to trying to determine if a diet can actually
control or at least reduce the symptoms of Crohn's disease.

At this time there has been no particular diet that has shown
itself to be effective for the prevention of or treatment of
Crohn's disease. A frustrating situation indeed.

While it is important to eat a healthy diet as instructed by
your health care provider, you must also determine for yourself
which foods are triggers for you and seem to worsen your
symptoms.

There are many patients who seem to have an increase in
symptoms when taking in too much fiber, the ingestion of milk
and milk products, the consumption of alcohol, and even the
intake of spicy foods.

So eating a healthy diet, one free from symptom producing
triggers, and one that can help to address any nutritional
deficiencies and symptoms of dehydration that you may be
experiencing is really the most important dietary tale of all.

It seems it would be much easier if there were a definitive
diet for Crohn's disease that patients could follow; however,
unfortunately, at this time it does not seem on the near
horizon.

Can a diet control Crohn's disease? It is definitely the wish
of many and something we can only hope that researchers are
studying even at this present time.

Each years tens of millions of people set off for fun on the
slopes. The allure of racing down the slopes, or relaxing next
to a fire in the lodge, has made the ski vacation an ever
popular destination for winter getaways. A ski vacation can be
both exhilarating and relaxing, and with proper planning a ski
vacation can be a time you will never forget.

Before setting off on your ski vacation be sure to thoroughly
inspect your equipment. Make sure your boots are snug and
comfortable and your bindings are sound and functioning. Be sure
to pack clothes that can be worn in layers that will keep you
warm and dry. Nothing will ruin a ski vacation like
malfunctioning equipment or improper clothing and outerwear.

Planning can also let you find a ski vacation that will fit
both your schedule and your budget. Booking a ski vacation early
can often give you the best discounts. Make sure to purchase
your lift tickets early so you have more time to ski on your ski
vacation, and be sure to purchase multiple day tickets in order
to get the best discounts.

It is also important to remember that there is more to a great
ski vacation than skiing alone. Many resorts have fabulous
restaurants and other activities to enjoy when you aren't on the
slopes. Dining, ice skating, swimming, hiking, or simply
relaxing in the hot tub; a great ski vacation is when you enjoy
all the amenities that the resort has to offer. Take the time
before your ski vacation to investigate all the available
activities so you will be prepared to take advantage of all the
fun to be had.

Once you arrive on your ski vacation it is time to put your
plans into action. If you are renting skis or snowboards make
sure to pick them up the night before you start skiing. The
lines are much shorter in the evenings and having your equipment
ready will let you be among the first to enjoy the fresh snow!

Are you someone who is so scared of going to the dentist that
you will absolutely avoid going, even to the detriment of your
own dental hygiene?

If the answer is yes, the chances are you have a dental phobia.
A phobia is more severe and intense than a fear which happens
when the body senses danger and activates the fight or flight
responses caused by a surge in adrenalin.

The fear or phobia may occur as a reaction to the dentist, the
treatments or in more serious cases, anything dental related
(such as toothpaste adverts). Fears and phobias usually occur
because they have been learned from someone significant in our
lives, or because there has been a significant negative usually
directly related to a dentist experience.

If hypnosis has not already been explored, it could prove to be
a useful skill in both managing the phobic response and
alleviating any pain or discomfort. Unfortunately no one can
really say how hypnosis works; however, research seems to
suggest that it is based upon a disassociation model, as seen in
patients with MPD.

Dissociation can eliminate pain by placing it in a sort of
psychological storage area, away from the consciousness of the
patient. There are many accounts in history of hypnosis being
used in place of anaesthetics.

Hypnosis is also a deeply relaxing state. This can be
beneficial during the dental treatment, to keep the patient calm
and relaxed and to have them focus in their minds, on a more
pleasant experience whilst the dental work takes place.
Remaining calm has other benefits as well as helping the patient
to feel better. For instance, there may be less bleeding (if the
dental work lends itself to the possibility of this occurring)
and healing may occur more readily.

Hypnosis can also be used as a way of making unconscious
changes. The unconscious is the greater part of our minds which
is responsible for maintaining habits and behaviours, and using
will power alone is not usually the easiest way of creating
changes to this part of the mind. However, during hypnosis, it
has been found that habits and behaviours can be changed easily.
This means that suggestions for feeling calm and at ease or
generally reacting in a more positive way to the dental
experience can be given. Therefore, hypnosis can be used prior
to the dental work and during the dental work.

The benefits of overcoming a dental phobia expand beyond better
dental care and hygiene. It is thought that around 20% of those
in the western world who have dental fears and phobias, also
suffer from fears and anxieties in other areas of their lives.
When success has been achieved in one area, it is likely to have
a positive impact on other areas of life where the patient once
had challenges, and even of this does not occur, it will
demonstrate that it is likely that the patient can achieve
success using this method of therapeutic intervention. For those
who are parents and suffering from a dental phobia, there is
also an increased likelihood that your children will also
develop some level of fear of going to the dentist, particularly
if they have witnessed you becoming anxious about going to the
dentist.

Diego realtors do the rest.

and find one that best suits you in terms of area, price range,

"Smoking is injurious to health" a warning which is written in
bold letters on every pack of cigarettes. Still billions of
people around globe smoke freely and carelessly. Though they are
being notified regarding health problems, smokers just do not
care about it. God alone can help them. Most of the smokers quit
smoking for several days, regardless of the cravings. One drag
of cigarette and all the efforts go in vain. All the plans
decided about keeping cigarettes away are crushed.

Addiction is a very sharp and a clever enemy to us. Addiction
even works at an unconscious level however hard you try to avoid
the addiction. At a certain point addiction strikes you and you
make excuses for having just one last cigarette even though you
had all the intentions to stop smoking. There is a difference
between a person who has stopped smoking and a non-smoker. A
smoker just stops smoking due to his own courage. A non-smoker
cannot think of anything worse for themselves rather than
smoking. You must have heard people saying that they have
stopped smoking, but they want to smoke when they have a drink.
That is not quitting smoking rather it is a denial that they
refuse to accept. When people have this attitude it means they
have decided to stop smoking at a conscious level, but
unconsciously they want to smoke. Smoking still attracts.

If you have decided to stop smoking, then you have a very
effective tool that is hypnosis. Hypnosis will help you to stop
smoking and remove the addiction from the root. Stopping smoking
is very unpleasant and difficult but achievable with the help of
hypnosis. The days you will be spending in quitting smoking will
be worst days of your life. The more you suffer and control
yourself the closer you are to your freedom from smoking. It is
just a matter of time but after getting healed you will stop
smoking yourself.

Hypnosis will even help you in dealing with emotions and
psychological aspects that affect you when you stop smoking.
Hypnosis has the highest rate of success in helping people stop
smoking. Hypnosis is the mind control tool. No one can make
people from stop something unless the person himself wants to do
it. The only case were hypnosis would not help you is when you
are not ready for it. If you still feel like smoking then it is
useless for you to go under hypnosis. If you are not ready and
you under go hypnosis your attempt at quitting will not be a
complete effort. Be ready for it and let hypnosis guide you or
else once the session is over you may again reach out for a pack
of cigarettes. To stop smoking you need go to a therapist as the
cure is available on the Internet now. You can be free from the
addiction by just buying CD's, downloading mp3's from the
Internet and help yourself. Imagine, after you stop smoking and
someone offers you a cigarette, you are in a position to just
say "no thanks".

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Why did you become a hypnotherapist?

It's great being a hypnotherapist as I have a great passion for
what I do. Even though I work around about the same hours as the
average worker, I never see myself as `in the rat race' and I
always have a spring in my step as I go off to work each
morning. The job pays well, however I don't see myself
financially secure either – more like financially free as I do
my job not for the money, but as my vocation in life. This is
great as money is then just a symptom of what I really love to
do – rather than being something that controls what I do. Being
a hypnotherapist is great and I really believe that wild horses
would find it difficult to drag me away from it.

What do you do day to day?

My day to day schedule can be very different from week to week,
which is great as it means that I get loads of variety in what I
do. Most days I will head into the office and write any articles
that I have to do for a website or maybe a magazine that I am
working with. I then get onto my mail and do the day to day
stuff that is needed for running a hypnotherapy business. This
could be anything from marketing to accounts. Then I usually
have a clinic where I could see between three to eight clients.
This is really the time that I love as it is a privileged
position that I have in helping my clients with life changing
issues that they may have. Seeing them get success is my reason
for doing the job that I do.

What types of things do hypnotherapists help with?

Hypnotherapists can help with a whole range of issues, however
most tend to gravitate around solutions for smoking, slimming
and stress or the three S's as I refer to them. I personally
help people with relationship and sexual issues, including
getting over relationship break-ups, jealousy, anger management,
impotence, premature ejaculation and many other issues around
this area. I also see my fair share of the three S's too!

If I wanted to know more about becoming a hypnotherapist, where
could I get some information?

You can get information on becoming a hypnotherapist from the
many hypnotherapy organisations worldwide. You can also start to
read books on self hypnosis as this is a great place to start as
it will give you a great taste for what the topic has to offer.

About The Author: Richard deals many issues including helping
to stop premature ejaculation. He also has a very successful
download for premature ejaculation on his site

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Coin collecting goes back over many centuries. It is man's
inborn nature to collect something. And coins are one of the
most popular collectable objects. The collection of coins,
whether by professionals or amateurs, is called Numismatics.
This article is a list with the most popular coins made from
precious metals. People always collect coins, especially ones
which are minted from precious metals like gold, silver and in
later years from platinum. The early technology of coin-making
was very primitive for many centuries. And many sorts of coins
had very varied shapes.

It is well known that the first coins were minted in Lydia
(this kingdom was placed in the south western part of modern day
Turkey) in about 560 BC. And those coins were made of gold. The
first silver coins were coined in Greece, in the state city of
Argos in about 700 BC.

The first platinum coins were coined in Russia in 1828. There
were 3, 6, and 12 ruble coins. The minting of Russian platinum
coins was stopped in 1844. Platinum coins were never used as
widely as gold coins and silver ones. Some other countries
minted coins made from platinum, but they were commemorative
coins for collectors, not intended for daily use.

Every country has minted gold and/or silver coins. There was a
long period when people used gold and silver coins as an
instrument of payment in their daily lives. But from 1933 year
making gold coins was almost stopped for daily use in all
countries of the world. Many countries still mint coins from
precious metals, but their minting is for commemorative coins
that are not made for daily shopping, such as in supermarkets.
This is because the precious metals scrap price of the precious
metal present in most of these coins now is higher than their
face value as legal tender coins. Precious metal refiners such
as http://www.goldscrap.co.uk/ will accept all types of Gold,
Silver and Platinum bullion coins and scrap metals, paying the
highest rates for your investment bullion and coins.

There are almost as many reasons for collecting coins as there
are people collecting them. First of all, gold, platinum, silver
and other precious metals has always been one of the best ways
for keeping and increasing your savings. This means gold,
platinum and silver coin collections are a good idea for your
investments. Really, sometimes your coin investments can
increase in value from 25% to 100% per year. What Bank can offer
you so large a yearly income? Of course, you are unable to get
any cash until you sell your coins. Investment in gold coins,
platinum coins and silver coins is not generally subject to
reducing prices. Make sure, you chose a coin dealer that has a
good reputation before you start to invest your money in any
coins. Conduct research on how long a dealer has been in this
business. Never purchase coins from an unknown dealer, if you
cannot check his/her business reputation. Because there are a
lot of swindlers trying to sell fake coins these days. So, be
careful every time when you buy coins from new sellers.

Three main factors determine the value of coins - condition,
rarity and age. The value of commemorative gold, silver and
platinum coins is always more than their face value. And prices
are growing quickly on many commemorative coins and coins
bearing certain dates. In some cases, the price can increase by
up to 200% in just one year! Also it is a very interesting hobby
to collect coins. Every coin is a piece of the human history,
and you can touch this history your own hand.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Blessed with fertile soil ideal for growing grapes, the Napa
Valley has blossomed into one of the world's foremost centers of
wine production. The vast majority of land used for agriculture
is devoted to producing grapes. With such a lack of
diversification, farmers have, quite literally, put all of their
grapes into one basket. The past 30 years have seen numerous
outbreaks of disease in the Valley, to the detriment of every
vineyard. Today, the Napa Valley Grapegrowers are an
organization dedicated to educating wineries and the public of
sustainable practices that will ensure that Napa remains a
viable region for wine and grape production.

The first major outbreak of disease came in the late 19th
century with the spread of the Phylloxera root louse. This pest
spread throughout the Valley, killing many vines. Georges de
Latour, a French vintner, brought knowledge of the terrible
insect to Napa, along with a supply of rootstock that was highly
resistant. By the time Prohibition was repealed in 1933,
production had risen to a total of over one million gallons per
year.

Unfortunately, time often has the effect of making people
forget, and in 1983, another outbreak of Phylloxera caught Napa
by surprise. Taking a proactive stance, many growers planted new
rootstock even more resistant to the pest, and by the late
1990's approximately 75% of vineyards planted grapes less
susceptible to Phylloxera. Key to this movement was the
involvement of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. Mobilizing to
coordinate an effort to inform and educate vineyard owners, the
NVG responded to the outbreak in fine form.

Today, the Napa Valley Winegrowers continues to lead the effort
against pest and disease. Various new pests including the vine
mealy bug, the glassy winged sharpshooter, and the light brown
apple moth all threaten Napa's vineyards. The NVG runs
educational programs for vintners, along with conducting
research. While growing grapes for fine wine might be an art,
preventing pests from ravaging through vineyards certainly
constitutes a science, and the NVG is at the forefront.

The Napa Valley Winegrowers also collaborates with the local
and state governments as well as other private organizations to
promote environmentally sustainable agriculture. Many of these
undertakings fall under the Napa Green program. More than 22,000
acres of Napa Valley currently participate, with over half of
that land area consisting of active vineyards. Napa Green seeks
to assess the condition of the lands under its supervision, and
subsequently act to prevent erosion, pest infestation, and loss
of water quality, among other issues. Most of the premier Napa
vineyards are involved in this program, including Beringer,
Kendall Jackson, and the Napa Valley Reserve. In addition, last
year the NVG held its first annual wine and grape exposition,
with seminars and classes designed to educate vintners.

With vigilant, careful monitoring and action, the Napa Valley
can remain one of the premier wine-growing regions in the world.
Organizations such as the Napa Valley Winegrowers are vital to
promoting the practices that will ensure the viability of Napa
for generations to come.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Selling on eBay is a great opportunity for any eCommerce
entrepreneur, but making a steady, livable income there isn't
just a matter of throwing a few products up for auction. In
fact, of the more than 200 million registered eBay users, only a
little over a million make a part- or full-time living there.

What separates this group from the masses of recreational
eBayers? The difference, according to eBay veteran Sydney
Johnston, founder of http://Auction-Genius-Course.com, is that
this small percentage of sellers have developed profitable
selling strategies to help them harness the power of the
Internet's busiest traffic machine. She shares four of these
proven strategies that have helped many of her students reach,
and exceed, their eBay goals:

1. Do your product sourcing in the right order.

The biggest question new sellers have is, "What should I sell?"
But they often begin their research process backwards, looking
first for good product niches, then for suppliers.
Unfortunately, they can't always locate suppliers for their
products, so they waste hours and days gathering information
they can't use.

First, find your product suppliers. The most basic technique is
to call the manufacturer, tell them you're a retailer looking to
carry their products, and ask for a list of their authorized
wholesalers. You can also find potential suppliers through trade
shows, trade publications, and trade organizations. Once you
know which products you can get suppliers for, then begin
researching those product markets, using a market research tool
like Terapeak or HammerTap.

2. Put your research results into practice.

It's easy to get caught in "paralysis by analysis." Many new
sellers agonize over taking action for endless weeks, months,
and years. Advises Johnston, "Knowledge without action is
useless. If you've done your research, found a supplier and a
promising product niche, then take that next step and do what
your research is telling you."

3. Start small and scale up as you gain experience.

Sometimes, brand new sellers are eager to sink their savings
into a liquidation lot or a container load of imports. The
problem is, they don't know the first thing about what they're
getting, and they often end up losing their money and giving up
on eCommerce all together.

The best way to minimize your risk is to start small. You might
use drop shipping to test a product without investing any funds
in inventory. If it proves successful, you can move up to buying
in light bulk quantities, for a better price-per-piece. Then, if
you find it's still a strong, consistent seller, you can buy in
even greater volume, to further increase your profit margins.

4. Take advantage of the eBay store.

If you sell on eBay, you need to capitalize on the benefits an
eBay store offers. The listing fees are substantially cheaper
than with auctions. And you have a place to send the search
engines (whereas your auction listings only last ten days, max).
Your customers, who came in for one item, can view and purchase
many. And you gain the ability to send newsletters, telling
buyers what promotions you're running and what new products
you're carrying.

While implementing these practices can help you increase your
selling success on eBay, Johnston insists that the most
successful sellers aren't the ones who get everything right –
they're the ones who refuse to quit. Choose to learn from your
feedback, your customers, and your experiences – good and bad –
and just keep going. States Johnston, "There really are no
failures – only learning opportunities. If you refuse to quit,
you will succeed. Period."

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Scraping off your windshield in the winter can be a royal pain
in the butt. If you don't have a garage, you probably dread
getting out in the morning and scraping off the ice until you
can see through the windshield properly. If you have a garage,
well then this article isn't meant for you! Below are some
techniques you should consider when you want to prevent ice from
getting on your windshield.

Use a special mixture

I did some research online and found that there are some great
techniques you can use with common household items. One of the
common recipes I've come across was using 3 parts of vinegar to
1 part of water and simply place it in a spray bottle. Every
night before you go in for the night, make sure that you spray
all of the windshields with this mixture.

Vinegar will prevent the ice from forming on your windshield.
Also remember that you should spray your side passenger windows
as well.
If you don't have access to vinegar, you can also use rubbing
alcohol as well. All of these items generally run a few dollars
at your local grocery store.

Provide a barrier

If you don't like the idea of spraying vinegar and water on
your windshield, you can grab an item such as cardboard and
spread it across your windshield. The key to this is to make
sure that the cardboard is tucked in both the passenger and
driver side doors.

In the morning when the ice and snow is on top of your car
windshield, simply pull the cardboard off and use your defroster
to take away any frost that you have on your windshield. The
best place to find cardboard is to either go to a local grocery
store to grab some empty boxes they've used or grab some at a
local storage place for a small fee.

The two tips are the ones you'll find all over the place when
you do research on the net. The best thing to do when
researching is to stay away from scummy items that say that
it'll prevent ice on your windshield. Most of the times, this
spray will be somewhat similar to the vinegar and water. The
best thing to do to not only save money and your time is to
simply create it yourself.

If the ways above are ways you are uncomfortable with, there
really aren't that many more ideas out there that can prevent
ice itself. Some auto companies have tried to come out with
windshields that were heated along with windshield wipers. This
concept hasn't taken off as of late but you can look up patents
online to see exactly what it's all about.
If you hate the ice, you can simply move or build a garage if
you're that upset about it or you can simply live with it or
take actions with the methods above. Who knows, you may have an
idea that can save millions the hassle of scraping off ice on
their windshield.

Teachers in Arizona Schools are Paid Less

Teachers in Arizona schools are compensated based on their
level of education, qualifications and teaching experience. But
is that truly fair pay? The comparatively low pay scales for
teachers in Arizona schools are leading to a serious under
valuation of teachers, the backbone of any education system.
Salary increases are often decided by the school boards, and
teachers are shortchanged when they try to change school
districts. Studies indicate that al least one third of teachers
in Arizona schools leave the system within two years of joining
it.

Teachers at Arizona Schools Have no Say in the Compensation
Process

Strangely enough, at some Arizona schools teacher compensation
can vary. Salaries can run the gamut beginning in the 20,000s
and going up to the 40,000s depending on the Arizona schools
districts. This is an odd situation because each student in
Arizona schools receives up to $6000 in funding, across all
districts.

Teachers in Arizona public schools have even less bargaining
power when it comes to salary negotiations than teachers in
other stats. This is clear from the insulting pay increase that
TUSD recently offered its teachers – a generous one per cent.
Since then TUSD has magnanimously upped its offer to 1.5 per
cent, and as teachers hold out still continues to dilly dally
about further pay raises. But the message is clear – teachers in
Arizona schools are grossly undervalued which is a contributing
factor in the state's slow decline in the education rankings.
When you factor in inflation and rising costs of living,
offering a one percent raise is insulting and demeaning to the
teaching profession.

Arizona Schools Fail to Attract the Cream of the Crop

With pay scales that are decided at the mercy of the school
boards, and not enough teacher participation in the compensatory
decision making process, Arizona schools are having a tough time
finding teachers who make the grade. Highly qualified
professional men and women who wish to pursue the noble
profession of teaching are turned off by the devaluation of
teachers that is the norm in Arizona schools. When this happens
it's the students who suffer from missing out on the practical
experience that the professionals can bring to classrooms. The
devaluation of teachers thus hurts the students the most.

Most Arizona schools also make changing districts tough for
teachers by placing experienced teachers at a lower rung of the
salary scale than they were in their previous school. This
doesn't allow Arizona schools to offer big money to qualified
teachers. It's an arrangement that hurts the teachers, the
boards and ultimately the students themselves.

Since time immemorial people from all cultures have been
decorating their homes, churches or other buildings with
tapestries and that trend is still practiced till date. These
artful hangings on the wall have always been extremely
magnificent examples of art based on artistic forms that are
long-lasting and found in a broad spectrum of cultural backdrops
which makes them a preservation of the days gone by.

At present, tapestries enjoy popularity for interior
decorations and are available in many splendid ways to give them
a unique appearance. If the weaver has enough skillful energy
and creative imagination, then the artwork on a tapestry can
display a huge variety of eclectic, sophisticated, styles
ranging from medieval to modern, landscapes to floral, simple to
impressionist. The majority of interior designers try out the
tapestry look because the benefits are many as well as provide a
distinct touch to the age-old forms of art.

Tapestries are a great way to decorate your home because they
are easy to care for and look much more elegant that a painting.
You can buy a tapestry, which is a reproduction of a famous
painting, for much cheaper, and you don't have to worry about
framing it. With a tapestry, all you need is a rod and you can
easy install and hang it.

Medieval tapestries are an excellent choice for any decor. They
were originally used in castles to help insulate and keep heat
inside. These wall hangings are very grand and elegant The
medieval tapestries, most specifically the traditional wall
hangings were sewn from the yarns of wool. Hence, many kinds of
pigments and dyes were added on a coarse and strong fabric for
better longevity and maintenance. To keep up the traditional
quality of average woolen tapestries artificial polymers were
mixed with it. For always it has been the practice and custom to
use fundamental natural fabrics with traditional weavers of
tapestry and it still is the practice even now.

Modern art wall hangings are created from many kinds of
textiles and are made with improved new and assorted fibers to
capture the essence of the past of the days gone by through
traditional artwork and popular tapestries. Advancement in the
quality of dyes and colors has led to creation of exact replicas
of age old designs of tapestries that are famously showcased in
many European museums and art galleries. These are great for a
contemporary home and can add many different dimensions to
existing wall decor. When decorating, keep a modern art tapestry
in mind, to liven up an already contemporary space.

At present, chenille has been put to popular use in
contemporary wall hangings chiefly because of its flexibility,
creamy softness, and adaptable nature. Tapestries made from this
material have a huge range of applicability which includes
tapestry throws and cushions as well as tapestry wall hangings.
Decorate your rooms with chenille tapestry for its panache,
elegance and beauty for adding an elegant dimension to your
home's environment that would warm your surroundings with
splendid vibrations and provide a new ambience. These can soften
a harsh room and bring warmth to any area lacking in decor.

Internet marketing has come a long way in a short time. With
tons of competition just a click away you need to have an
Internet marketing strategy that works. Try these 8 tips for
successful Internet marketing.

1. Get on top of the search heap. When it comes to Internet
searches those who finish in the top 10 entries are winners.
Getting to the top may take some doing. Keywords are the secret
to search engine strategy. Using the proper keywords that both
describe your site or product and are attune with popular search
phrases will get you ahead.

2. Click, click, click. Use pay per click (PPC) advertising to
get a lot of bang for your advertising buck. Pay per click or
sponsored advertising can get you big time exposure for small
time money. The key is to be sure that you have the proper
keywords to get you listed in the most popular sites.

3. Give something for nothing. Everyone likes to get something
for free. You don't need to spend a fortune to give your
customers and potential customers something they need.
Information is a good bet. You can make it for next to nothing
yet your customers feel they are getting something they need.

4. Have a great website. You don't need special graphics or
music on your site. The best sites are those that follow simple
rules. The sites work well and load easily. The navigation is
easy to use and things are easy to find. While you may be
tempted to put everything and the kitchen sink on your site slow
down. Your site will have a much more professional appearance
if it isn't cluttered with too many things.

5. Make your purchase page easily accessible. Don't make
potential customers hunt through your web site in order to find
ordering information. Instead put links on each page that offer
the customer to buy now. Always legitimize your company by
providing a toll free phone number for customer service. Also
provide an email link so people can easily ask questions. Allow
fax orders as well as Internet and phone orders. The more ways
you have for customers to place orders the more orders you'll
get.

6. Use lists. Gather customer information on your website by
having them sign up for newsletters. Use the lists to send
special marketing bulletins and special offers. Utilize coupons
or special free item with purchase or the popular buy one and
get another at a discounted price. These marketing strategies
are sure to get you lots of business.

7. Offer more than the competition. While you can't give away
the store do think of ways that you offer better product or
service than your competition. Then, use this information as a
marketing strategy. For example, if you offer a full year
warranty when the competition doesn't make sure you use this to
your advantage.

8. Change up your strategies. Subscribe to at least one or
more monthly Internet marketing newsletters. They can provide
valuable information and marketing trends that you need to be
aware of. The Internet changes rapidly so don't get left
behind.

Blogging has become a central pillar in the online world.
Internet technologies come and go with increasing frequency but
blogging has staked a claim and is here to stay. A variety of
platforms allow people to start a blog in minutes and without a
penny changing hands. In addition, countless other service
providers have developed widgets that can enhance a blog with
additional functionality and style. This article will look at a
few of the basics so you can get off to a running start.

There are two decisions you need to make right at the
beginning. The first is which platform you'll be using to build
your blog and the second is whether you'll host it on the
provider's servers or your own. Let's look at both decisions in
a bit more detail.

The two primary platforms out there are Blogger and WordPress.
Blogger is owned by Google and is probably the easiest platform
to get started on. It's really designed for the novice.
Functionality features are easy to use and the interface is
simple and intuitive. WordPress is an open source platform. That
means it's developed by individual programmers all over the
world and is available for anyone to use, free of charge.

Open source software is a fascinating phenomenon. People with
all kinds of different business objectives end up developing
extensions to facilitate their needs and those extensions then
become available to the entire community. As a result, you can
search for just about any extension you can imagine and build
your own custom blog with precisely the features you want.
WordPress is designed for a more sophisticated user but the
advantages for the final product are substantial.

The next decision revolves around where you host your new blog.
You can host it on the Blogger platform or the WordPress
platform. In both cases, you would end up with a URL something
like YourBlog.Blogger.com rather than your own custom URL. The
upside is that it's easier and your blog will then be part of a
HUGE website. That may improve your search engine ranking. The
downside is that the ultimate control is out of your hands and
your branding isn't complete. In other words, you will never
have your own free-standing web address.

Once you have created your new blog, you're well advised to
register it with all the free blog directories. Not
surprisingly, there are dozens of them and they can help you
drive traffic. You can also cross reference other people's
comments, leaving them with a free banklink. That will help you
get established in the community and encourage others to
reference your comments on their blog. Depending on the blog,
you could easily get the majority of your traffic from such a
link.

A number of companies have developed platforms that add
functionality or aggregate information and their widgets can
easily be added to a blog, simply by adding a small piece of
java script to your platform. This has become so common that
Blogger, WordPress and others have designed specific modules to
easily accept such scripts. Done properly, these widgets can
make a simple blog look impressive and professional.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Recent statistics show that almost every building built before
1980 is most likely to be made of asbestos related products.
According to the TUC, all public buildings and schools built
between 1960 and 1980 most probably have asbestos in walls,
boilers, and even hot pipes. Properties built since the
mid-1980's are unlikely to contain asbestos in the fabric of the
building and properties built since 1990 are extremely unlikely
to contain asbestos anywhere in the building.

Asbestos has previously been used in UK buildings for
fireproofing, insulation, reinforcement and condensation
protection. The Advisory Committee on Asbestos has released a
report which states that the UK is most affected by the use of
white asbestos by the name of Chrysotile. The Chrysotile
imported by the UK in 1976 was utilized 40% by cement building
products, 22% by reinforced and filler cements and 12% by floors
and tiles.

Asbestos based items and products are no longer approved by the
UK government or any other government in the world since
research has highlighted its harmful effects on human health.
These products are known to emit asbestos fibres which are the
cause of many diseases such as asbestosis, mesothelioma, lung
cancer and other diseases. These fibres are so small that they
are invisible to the human eye, with some fibres being up to
seven hundred times smaller than a human hair. When these
asbestos fibres are released from the building material or
product and become airborne into the air we breathe, they often
stay suspended there for hours or even days.

We are all exposed to low levels of asbestos in the air we
breathe. This is generally higher in cities and industrial
areas. Employees in industries that mine, produce or use
asbestos products and people living near these industries may be
exposed to high levels of asbestos in the air.

Asbestos fibres may be released into the air by the disturbance
of asbestos based material during product use, demolition work,
building or home maintenance, repair, and remodeling. Asbestos
exposure may also occur when asbestos based materials are
disturbed in some way as to release particles and fibres into
the air. This disturbance could include product use, demolition
work, building or home maintenance.

Asbestos is not always an immediate hazard. In fact, if
asbestos can be maintained in good condition, it is recommended
that it be left alone and periodic surveillance performed to
monitor it's condition. It is only when asbestos containing
materials are disturbed or the materials become damaged in such
a manner that fibres are released, that it becomes a hazard.

When asbestos fibres are originally inhaled, they may become
trapped in the lungs. Over time, the body tries to dissolve
theses fibres. Unfortunately due to the nature of asbestos, the
body does little to damage the fibre, but instead damages the
surrounding tissue. Eventually, this damage may become so severe
that the lungs cannot function.

Although the use of asbestos has been banned for many years
now, asbestos related deaths still occur for up to 40 years
after exposure. The symptoms of asbestos related diseases,
unfortunately, do not become apparent until it is too late.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
It's a tough old world out there and the sooner you start
teaching your child about personal financial responsibility the
better. Children can learn the basics about money at a very
early age.

Start when he is about 3 years old. Take him to the grocery
store and explain, often and in many ways, that the money you
and your mate earn while you are away working is what pays for
the food that you are buying. Give the child a small amount of
money, let him choose something he wants and pay for it himself.

Begin giving him a small weekly allowance when he 6 or 7 years
old. Get him a piggy bank and teach him to save first, spend
second…and then wisely. Give him small chores that he can easily
manage and attach doing the chores to receiving the allowance.
In other words, help him come to the obvious conclusion that

Internet Fax Buying Guide (What you need to know before buying any online fax service?)
Before acquiring any Internet Fax service you must ask some
pertinent questions before you sign on the dotted line.
Remember, getting a fax number and service for your
business or company should have your full attention because
this is a long-term service and doing your homework now can
save you significant money over the long haul.

Besides, picking the RIGHT fax service provider will help
you avoid serious problems/headaches down the road. More
importantly, like any business service you must make doubly
sure you get a high quality reliable service that will
enhance your business and not hinder it.

So with these concerns in mind, here are some basic
questions you should ask before buying any Internet fax
service.

* Questions About The Company

Who owns the company? How long have they been operating?
How many customers/clients do they have? How good is their
support? Basically, you want to do some research on the
Internet fax company you're thinking about using. Check out
the company's history by doing a BBB search to see if there
are any major complaints about the company or service.

Check to see if there's a trial period and if there is a
30-day money-back guarantee if things don't work out. Most
legitimate fax companies provide this feature.

Find out how long they have been operating and find out
what their support is like? Check out the online fax forums
to see how the different companies are rated? What problems
are discussed? Check these forums to see what the support
is like for a company and/or if there are any problems with
using a particular fax company.

Keep in mind, many fax service providers have their own
forums... check these to see how well questions are
answered and how quickly problems are solved. You can even
monitor these forums for a few days just to see how quickly
problems are dealt with?

Remember to ask around to see if you can find actual users
of a particular fax service, there is nothing as good as
first-hand experience and advice when choosing a service.
MicroSoft's Office Marketplace is a good place to start.

* Questions About Your New Fax Number:

First, you will want to check to see what type of fax
number is supplied by the fax provider - local number with
your same area code or a Toll-free number? Can you get
inbound numbers in a different country in case you want to
create a virtual presence there?

Check to see if a fax provider recycles old fax numbers? On
rare occasions this could present a problem with you
receiving someone else's faxes. Keep this in mind if you
discontinue your fax number, especially if you were
receiving sensitive faxes through your number.

* Questions About The Transmission of Faxes:

How do I send faxes? You want to know the exact procedure
for your chosen fax provider? Is there a desktop or email
application I can use to send and receive faxes? Does it
work with Windows Applications?

Is there an online interface or site where I can send and
receive my faxes? (Most fax services have this.) Can I
store my faxes online? If so, how much disc space is
provided and how long before my faxes are deleted? Can I
track the process of my faxes online? Can I track how much
each fax costs?

What attachment file formats are used by your prospective
fax provider? Most use the TIFF (Tagged Image File) format
but other popular ones are Acrobat PDF, JPEG/JPG and GIF.
If you have or use a different format, check with the
provider to see if they can handle it.

Can you change your email address to where your faxes are
sent? Can you have multiple email addresses? Do you have
control over your fax identifier (CSID) for outbound faxes?
The CSID is used to identify the sender of the fax and is a
legal requirement in many locations.

Finally, if security is a real concern, you must ask
whether or not your fax provider can send encrypted/signed
email? Encryption ensures only you and the receiver sees
your faxes. Can your faxes be sent and received via email
with PGP encryption?

* Questions About Fax Broadcasting:

Does your fax provider offer Fax Broadcasting - sending the
same fax to hundreds or thousands of recipients? This is
useful in a business setting for such things as
Newsletters, Press Releases, Special Sales or Deals - not
to be confused with Junk Faxes, which is similar to email
Spam!

If you or your company does a lot of legitimate faxing, you
must check to see if your fax provider is completely
scalable to meet your company's growing faxing needs? Can
you easily get multiple fax numbers for different
departments or agents? Can it handle high volumes on short
notice?

* Questions About The Costs of Faxing:

Perhaps the most important questions you have to ask
concerns the cost or price of your online faxing. Are there
any set-up costs? Are there any hidden fees? Is there a
trial version you can start with? Is there a money-back
guarantee if you're not satisfied with the service?

Fax services are paid for by subscriptions - you must check
to see if it's a yearly or monthly subscription? Most
companies give you an option and if you buy an annual
subscription, you usually get a discount - check this?

Regardless of how you pay, you must check how many faxes
can you send and/or receive each month with your
subscription? Fax companies all have different plans and
fees... so it pays to shop around... most services go for
around $10-$15 a month. Heavier volume faxing will be more
expensive. Also check to see if there is custom pricing for
companies?

What are your provider's international fax rates? This is
something you should really check out as you will have to
pay more for these types of faxes. If I go over my limit,
what are the costs of sending faxes? Receiving faxes?

Remember, as a general rule of thumb, page calculations are
done based on fax time with the 60-second per page limit as
standard. Most faxes are less than 40 seconds, but faxes
with large graphics may be counted as two or more pages.
Some fax providers base their fax rates on a per/minute
fee... 5 cents a minute.

When considering the costs of your Internet faxing, you
have to remember, with online faxing you won't have the
cost of a fax machine, or the cost of a second phone line.
Plus, you won't have to pay ink, toner and paper costs.

Overall, Internet faxing is a good viable alternative to
the old fax machine. It offers some very distinct
advantages because it is completely mobile, you can send
your faxes anytime, anywhere. And since it is computer and
Internet based, it can be much more efficient than the old
fax machine.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
As far as the consumer is concerned, the history of the great
Ford Mustang began when it was shown to the public at New York's
World Exhibition. The prototypes had been in existence since
1962, with the Mustang 1 (T-5) being first introduced to the
motor racing world at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix where Stirling
Moss and Dan Gurney drove it for a few laps each as a demo.

In the early 1960s, Ford desperately needed a new car to
compete with the sporty Chevrolet Corsair Monza, and its first
attempt, the Falcon Future, failed to compete. A brand new car
was needed, and the idea for the Mustang was born. It was sporty
and quick and a four seater. It was appealing to youngsters, and
the prototype was well received when shown at the motor racing
circuits.

It went in production in 1964, and was an instant hit. Its
launch on 17th April, 1964 was the beginning of what was to be
the most popular car ever in American history, and it sold half
a million in its first year. Its customers included every age
and it was equally popular to men and women.

Many of its parts were taken from the failed Falcon, and its
immediate success had as much to do with the almost perfect
advertising campaign as it had to do with looks and speed. The
advertising power of the three major television networks was
used extensively, and with its distinctive mane and tail
galloping across the red, white and blue of America the `Pony
Car' was the phenomenon of its age, representing the flavor of
the 1960s more perfectly than its designers could ever have
dreamt possible.

It was a car of its day that arrived with perfect timing. Later
to be called the 1964½, the original Mustang was available as a
convertible and as a coupe, both with chrome wrap-around
fenders, the distinctive chrome grill with running pony, and a
lengthened hood. Although it claimed to have four seats, the
back seat was a bit small and it also sported three tails lights
on each side. It has sold a million by 1966, although before
that the GT and fastback model had been introduced.

The car continued to progress, and by the end of the 60s had
become longer by four inches, and a lot heavier than the
original, much of this in response to the development of
Chevrolet's Firebird and Pontiac. It was the Corvette, however,
that brought the Mustang into the road racing arena. The Mustang
was so popular, especially with the young, that Ford were
desperate to race it against the Corvette. However, only
production two seaters were allowed to race, and to enable them
to do this at least 100 two seaters had be produced by January
1965.

This was achieved with the help of Mustang fan and racer, Carol
Shelby, who modified 100 of the 2+2 models into GT 350 models,
in the process re-equipping them to render them more suitable
for racing. The suspension, wheel and brakes were all modified,
and the cars were to become the basis of many future models that
are even now are much sought after.

During the early 1970s the Mustang lost its way a bit and
became a bit too big and unwieldy. The original grace and élan
that so attracted early admirers was lost, and it became just
another car. Part of this was due to emissions regulations, but
sales dropped so much that Ford had to rethink its design
strategy with the Mustang.

The Mustang II was introduced in 1974, and although it was
small and vastly underpowered, it takes its place in the history
of the car because it brought to a halt the drop in sales. It
sold because of economy in fuel, and the 1973 OPEC fuel embargo.
People were afraid that a gas guzzler would hurt their pockets,
and so temporarily went for the smaller car. However, this did
not last long, and 1975 brought back the V8 engine to the
Mustang. However, although it had a 5 liter engine, the
carburetor was too small and the catalytic converter combined
with that to render it lifeless.

Then came a period of relative stability although there were a
few trim changes. Fans must have seen the end coming because the
late 1970s saw a slight increase in sales, rather than the drop
that model now deserved. The Cobra II and King Cobra versions
did little to spark a return to the glory days for the 1960s,
and Ford made a last ditch attempt to rewrite the Mustang in
1979. The new Mustang was available as a coupé or fastback with
a bit more room inside than the either the original or the ill
fated Mustang II.

However, the running horse had gone, and the rear lights lost
their distinctive three segments: this expanded to six, while
the side scallop also disappeared. It no longer resembled a
Mustang! Alterations continued to be made, and the California
Highway Patrol found a use for a special coupe model as a high
speed pursuit vehicle. With its 157 HP V8 engine, this car was
used by a number of law enforcement agent up until 1993, when
Ford killed them off.

The fans were wrong, however, and development continued as the
Mustang conformed with the coming of fuel injection, air bags
and other essential improvements, though the original concept
had completely disappeared. In 2005 Ford finally ditched the
ancient Fox platform and introduced that now used for the
Lincoln and the Thunderbird. The newest Mustang has reverted to
some of the original features, and it is a miracle that the car
has survived so long.

Nobody involved in 1962 development team would have believed
that the great Ford Mustang would still be around 45 years
later.
