 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Blessed with fertile soil ideal for growing grapes, the Napa
Valley has blossomed into one of the world's foremost centers of
wine production. The vast majority of land used for agriculture
is devoted to producing grapes. With such a lack of
diversification, farmers have, quite literally, put all of their
grapes into one basket. The past 30 years have seen numerous
outbreaks of disease in the Valley, to the detriment of every
vineyard. Today, the Napa Valley Grapegrowers are an
organization dedicated to educating wineries and the public of
sustainable practices that will ensure that Napa remains a
viable region for wine and grape production.

The first major outbreak of disease came in the late 19th
century with the spread of the Phylloxera root louse. This pest
spread throughout the Valley, killing many vines. Georges de
Latour, a French vintner, brought knowledge of the terrible
insect to Napa, along with a supply of rootstock that was highly
resistant. By the time Prohibition was repealed in 1933,
production had risen to a total of over one million gallons per
 year.

Unfortunately, time often has the effect of making people
forget, and in 1983, another outbreak of Phylloxera caught Napa
by surprise. Taking a proactive stance, many growers planted new
rootstock even more resistant to the pest, and by the late
1990's approximately 75% of vineyards planted grapes less
susceptible to Phylloxera. Key to this movement was the
involvement of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. Mobilizing to
coordinate an effort to inform and educate vineyard owners, the
NVG responded to the outbreak in fine form.

Today, the Napa Valley Winegrowers continues to lead the effort
against pest and disease. Various new pests including the vine
mealy bug, the glassy winged sharpshooter, and the light brown
apple moth all threaten Napa's vineyards. The NVG runs
educational programs for vintners, along with conducting
research. While growing grapes for fine wine might be an art,
preventing pests from ravaging through vineyards certainly
constitutes a science, and the NVG is at the forefront.

The Napa Valley Winegrowers also collaborates with the local
and state governments as well as other private organizations to
promote environmentally sustainable agriculture. Many of these
undertakings fall under the Napa Green program. More than 22,000
acres of Napa Valley currently participate, with over half of
that land area consisting of active vineyards. Napa Green seeks
to assess the condition of the lands under its supervision, and
subsequently act to prevent erosion, pest infestation, and loss
of water quality, among other issues. Most of the premier Napa
vineyards are involved in this program, including Beringer,
Kendall Jackson, and the Napa Valley Reserve. In addition, last
year the NVG held its first annual wine and grape exposition,
with seminars and classes designed to educate vintners.

With vigilant, careful monitoring and action, the Napa Valley
can remain one of the premier wine-growing regions in the world.
Organizations such as the Napa Valley Winegrowers are vital to
promoting the practices that will ensure the viability of Napa
 for generations to come.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Scraping off your windshield in the winter can be a royal pain
in the butt. If you don't have a garage, you probably dread
getting out in the morning and scraping off the ice until you
can see through the windshield properly. If you have a garage,
well then this article isn't meant for you! Below are some
techniques you should consider when you want to prevent ice from
 getting on your windshield.

 Use a special mixture

I did some research online and found that there are some great
techniques you can use with common household items. One of the
common recipes I've come across was using 3 parts of vinegar to
1 part of water and simply place it in a spray bottle. Every
night before you go in for the night, make sure that you spray
all of the windshields with this mixture.

Vinegar will prevent the ice from forming on your windshield.
Also remember that you should spray your side passenger windows
 as well.
If you don't have access to vinegar, you can also use rubbing
alcohol as well. All of these items generally run a few dollars
 at your local grocery store.

 Provide a barrier

If you don't like the idea of spraying vinegar and water on
your windshield, you can grab an item such as cardboard and
spread it across your windshield. The key to this is to make
sure that the cardboard is tucked in both the passenger and
 driver side doors.

In the morning when the ice and snow is on top of your car
windshield, simply pull the cardboard off and use your defroster
to take away any frost that you have on your windshield. The
best place to find cardboard is to either go to a local grocery
store to grab some empty boxes they've used or grab some at a
local storage place for a small fee.

The two tips are the ones you'll find all over the place when
you do research on the net. The best thing to do when
researching is to stay away from scummy items that say that
it'll prevent ice on your windshield. Most of the times, this
spray will be somewhat similar to the vinegar and water. The
best thing to do to not only save money and your time is to
 simply create it yourself.

If the ways above are ways you are uncomfortable with, there
really aren't that many more ideas out there that can prevent
ice itself. Some auto companies have tried to come out with
windshields that were heated along with windshield wipers. This
concept hasn't taken off as of late but you can look up patents
online to see exactly what it's all about.
If you hate the ice, you can simply move or build a garage if
you're that upset about it or you can simply live with it or
take actions with the methods above. Who knows, you may have an
idea that can save millions the hassle of scraping off ice on
 their windshield.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Teachers in Arizona Schools are Paid Less

Teachers in Arizona schools are compensated based on their
level of education, qualifications and teaching experience. But
is that truly fair pay? The comparatively low pay scales for
teachers in Arizona schools are leading to a serious under
valuation of teachers, the backbone of any education system.
Salary increases are often decided by the school boards, and
teachers are shortchanged when they try to change school
districts. Studies indicate that al least one third of teachers
in Arizona schools leave the system within two years of joining
 it.

Teachers at Arizona Schools Have no Say in the Compensation
 Process

Strangely enough, at some Arizona schools teacher compensation
can vary. Salaries can run the gamut beginning in the 20,000s
and going up to the 40,000s depending on the Arizona schools
districts. This is an odd situation because each student in
Arizona schools receives up to $6000 in funding, across all
 districts.

Teachers in Arizona public schools have even less bargaining
power when it comes to salary negotiations than teachers in
other stats. This is clear from the insulting pay increase that
TUSD recently offered its teachers a generous one per cent.
Since then TUSD has magnanimously upped its offer to 1.5 per
cent, and as teachers hold out still continues to dilly dally
about further pay raises. But the message is clear teachers in
Arizona schools are grossly undervalued which is a contributing
factor in the state's slow decline in the education rankings.
When you factor in inflation and rising costs of living,
offering a one percent raise is insulting and demeaning to the
 teaching profession.

Arizona Schools Fail to Attract the Cream of the Crop

With pay scales that are decided at the mercy of the school
boards, and not enough teacher participation in the compensatory
decision making process, Arizona schools are having a tough time
finding teachers who make the grade. Highly qualified
professional men and women who wish to pursue the noble
profession of teaching are turned off by the devaluation of
teachers that is the norm in Arizona schools. When this happens
it's the students who suffer from missing out on the practical
experience that the professionals can bring to classrooms. The
devaluation of teachers thus hurts the students the most.

Most Arizona schools also make changing districts tough for
teachers by placing experienced teachers at a lower rung of the
salary scale than they were in their previous school. This
doesn't allow Arizona schools to offer big money to qualified
teachers. It's an arrangement that hurts the teachers, the
boards and ultimately the students themselves.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
It's a tough old world out there and the sooner you start
teaching your child about personal financial responsibility the
better. Children can learn the basics about money at a very
 early age.

Start when he is about 3 years old. Take him to the grocery
store and explain, often and in many ways, that the money you
and your mate earn while you are away working is what pays for
the food that you are buying. Give the child a small amount of
money, let him choose something he wants and pay for it himself.

Begin giving him a small weekly allowance when he 6 or 7 years
old. Get him a piggy bank and teach him to save first, spend
second and then wisely. Give him small chores that he can easily
manage and attach doing the chores to receiving the allowance.
In other words, help him come to the obvious conclusion that
work equals income. Do not hesitate to withhold the allowance if
the chores are not done and let him suffer the consequences.
Don't provide him with the ice cream cone that he would have
bought with his allowance had he done the work.

Pick a date, such as his birthday, to increase his allowance
and the chores required of him.

By the time he is 12 to 14 begin encouraging him to earn extra
money by getting some jobs on his own such as mowing the
neighbors lawn and, also, encourage him to save for things he
would consider long term goals such as buying a car.

A part-time job should be considered by the time he is 16. Be
sure it's not one that will interfere with his school work.

After he graduates high school and is ready to start college,
get him a pre-paid credit card. Explain that you can add money
to it as required but, also, explain that you will be able to
see exactly how the money is being spent and there are limits.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
As far as the consumer is concerned, the history of the great
Ford Mustang began when it was shown to the public at New York's
World Exhibition. The prototypes had been in existence since
1962, with the Mustang 1 (T-5) being first introduced to the
motor racing world at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix where Stirling
Moss and Dan Gurney drove it for a few laps each as a demo.

In the early 1960s, Ford desperately needed a new car to
compete with the sporty Chevrolet Corsair Monza, and its first
attempt, the Falcon Future, failed to compete. A brand new car
was needed, and the idea for the Mustang was born. It was sporty
and quick and a four seater. It was appealing to youngsters, and
the prototype was well received when shown at the motor racing
 circuits.

It went in production in 1964, and was an instant hit. Its
launch on 17th April, 1964 was the beginning of what was to be
the most popular car ever in American history, and it sold half
a million in its first year. Its customers included every age
and it was equally popular to men and women.

Many of its parts were taken from the failed Falcon, and its
immediate success had as much to do with the almost perfect
advertising campaign as it had to do with looks and speed. The
advertising power of the three major television networks was
used extensively, and with its distinctive mane and tail
galloping across the red, white and blue of America the `Pony
Car' was the phenomenon of its age, representing the flavor of
the 1960s more perfectly than its designers could ever have
 dreamt possible.

It was a car of its day that arrived with perfect timing. Later
to be called the 1964½, the original Mustang was available as a
convertible and as a coupe, both with chrome wrap-around
fenders, the distinctive chrome grill with running pony, and a
lengthened hood. Although it claimed to have four seats, the
back seat was a bit small and it also sported three tails lights
on each side. It has sold a million by 1966, although before
that the GT and fastback model had been introduced.

The car continued to progress, and by the end of the 60s had
become longer by four inches, and a lot heavier than the
original, much of this in response to the development of
Chevrolet's Firebird and Pontiac. It was the Corvette, however,
that brought the Mustang into the road racing arena. The Mustang
was so popular, especially with the young, that Ford were
desperate to race it against the Corvette. However, only
production two seaters were allowed to race, and to enable them
to do this at least 100 two seaters had be produced by January
 1965.

This was achieved with the help of Mustang fan and racer, Carol
Shelby, who modified 100 of the 2+2 models into GT 350 models,
in the process re-equipping them to render them more suitable
for racing. The suspension, wheel and brakes were all modified,
and the cars were to become the basis of many future models that
are even now are much sought after.

During the early 1970s the Mustang lost its way a bit and
became a bit too big and unwieldy. The original grace and élan
that so attracted early admirers was lost, and it became just
another car. Part of this was due to emissions regulations, but
sales dropped so much that Ford had to rethink its design
 strategy with the Mustang.

The Mustang II was introduced in 1974, and although it was
small and vastly underpowered, it takes its place in the history
of the car because it brought to a halt the drop in sales. It
sold because of economy in fuel, and the 1973 OPEC fuel embargo.
People were afraid that a gas guzzler would hurt their pockets,
and so temporarily went for the smaller car. However, this did
not last long, and 1975 brought back the V8 engine to the
Mustang. However, although it had a 5 liter engine, the
carburetor was too small and the catalytic converter combined
with that to render it lifeless.

Then came a period of relative stability although there were a
few trim changes. Fans must have seen the end coming because the
late 1970s saw a slight increase in sales, rather than the drop
that model now deserved. The Cobra II and King Cobra versions
did little to spark a return to the glory days for the 1960s,
and Ford made a last ditch attempt to rewrite the Mustang in
1979. The new Mustang was available as a coupé or fastback with
a bit more room inside than the either the original or the ill
 fated Mustang II.

However, the running horse had gone, and the rear lights lost
their distinctive three segments: this expanded to six, while
the side scallop also disappeared. It no longer resembled a
Mustang! Alterations continued to be made, and the California
Highway Patrol found a use for a special coupe model as a high
speed pursuit vehicle. With its 157 HP V8 engine, this car was
used by a number of law enforcement agent up until 1993, when
 Ford killed them off.

The fans were wrong, however, and development continued as the
Mustang conformed with the coming of fuel injection, air bags
and other essential improvements, though the original concept
had completely disappeared. In 2005 Ford finally ditched the
ancient Fox platform and introduced that now used for the
Lincoln and the Thunderbird. The newest Mustang has reverted to
some of the original features, and it is a miracle that the car
 has survived so long.

Nobody involved in 1962 development team would have believed
that the great Ford Mustang would still be around 45 years
 later.

 Friend

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
There are many ways in which you can find great deals online
for your K9 friend. Where you find them depends a great deal on
what it is you are looking for, and the type of dog that you
have, but the internet is such a vast place that there is
 nothing that you cannot find.

There are many websites that sell dog-related items, from
articles for the dog lover such as dog art and dog bookends to
dog leads and dog's toys. Many are specialized sites that deal
in one type of item such as ceramics or books, where you can get
dog figures and books on dog training, and others that are more
specifically related to dogs, offering baskets, baths and beds.
However, if you are looking for a good deal as opposed to a good
range of products, there are specific types of site that you
 should look out for.

Auction sites are generally good places to find good prices on
any kind of item, not only on dog related goods, and most can be
relied upon to offer something suitable for your K9 friend. EBay
is by far the biggest online auction site, but it is by no means
the only one. Good bargains can often be found on the smaller
sites where there are fewer buyers contending for the K9 related
items being auctioned. Such sites provide a very convenient way
of purchasing goods at reduced prices, and you can frequently
get genuine bargains that are considerably cheaper than prices
found at the average online store.

The principle of online auctions is the same as any other
auction in that there is generally a starting price, above which
potential purchasers bid for the item. If there is a lot of
competition for a particular item, such as a particular dog
figurine, then the price will generally be higher than if
competition is light, and it is not unknown for bidders to get
carried away in the excitement of the bidding and end up paying
a higher price on the auction site than they could have paid at
 a regular online store.

Another type of site that you can use to find bargain prices
for doggy items is a comparison site. This type of site compares
the prices offered by various online outlets for the same or
similar products. What you get is a page containing a list of
internet outlets together with the price for the product such as
a make of dog leash or a particular type of dog basket. They
frequently also offer a review of the particular store, and
sometimes you are better paying a little extra to a reliable
store with good reviews than to purchase cheaper from one that
appears to have a poor delivery or service record.

Similar to this are review sites that offer reviews of specific
products. You can carry out a search for a product type, and be
provided with a number of alternatives, such as different
models, together with a review of each that you can use to make
up your mind which you want to choose. For example, there might
be reviews on a number of alternative books on how to train your
dog, or of the pros and cons of different types of dog collar or
 chain.

All of these are types of site that you can use to find great
deals online for your K9 friend, but there is one type of site
that probably beats all of these. That is the type of website
that offers great products at low prices, but also provides
information on the topic. For example, a site specializing in K9
items as a niche, and offering articles and other information on
various K9 topics in addition to great offers on a large variety
 of dog related items.

The best combination is such a website and an auction site, and
an information site also providing details of forthcoming eBay
auctions relating to the specific niche would combine to provide
relevant content on the niche such as dogs, and also great
auction deals online for your K9 friend. There are not many such
sites online, but they are very useful when you find them.

The benefit is that you are provided with good information, and
also a reliable source of great K9 items at great prices.

About The Author: Useful information on a number of dog-related
topics is available from http://www.k9unit.net/ where you will
also find details of forthcoming K9 related eBay auctions at the
fabulous prices you would expect from an online auction site.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
A venue finder is someone who can help you find a venue for any
occasion. Some deal solely with corporate events whilst others
will also cover social events. The majority of venue finders
only find venues in the UK but if you want an event abroad some
venue finders are able to find venues abroad too. The best way
to find a venue finder is on the Internet where there are a
majority of venue finders to choose from. Whilst it may be hard
to decide upon a venue finder due to the large choice of venue
finders advertising on the Internet there are a few key factors
which will help you find the best venue finder.

The best venue finders have a quick turn around time and offer
a selection of venues that will fit your requirements. It is
worthwhile finding out about these two details as it will help
you avoid venue finders that only offer you one or two venues
and take days to do it. Another fact to consider is if the venue
finders charge a fee or not. Free venue finders are definitely
worth using as they provide a free service, which is important
if you have a tight budget to work to.

The majority of venue finders have a broad knowledge of venues
and are experienced in finding venues for all types of occasion.
Good venue finders will have visited a good selection of venues
and should know what a venue is like. Venue finders will
normally take all the details of your requirement and find a
selection of venues to suit. It is always worth visiting
potential venues if you have never seen them before so that you
can make sure the venue is suitable for you. This way you can
also meet the staff at the venue and are able to see what the
service is like. Additionally if you want to taste the food the
venue may be able to arrange a tasting session for you.

Venue finders are usually very successful in finding a venue
for your event. They are also experienced in negotiating rates
and they can usually find good deals for you. This is very
useful when you are working on a small budget.

Venue finders are also useful if you arrange a lot of events.
This is usually the case for training companies who run a number
of events every week or month. By using a venue finder they can
arrange all your venues and a dedicated venue finder will make
the process of booking a venue much easier. The venue finder
also will have knowledge of your events and they are more
 successful in finding venues.

Once you have found a good venue finder that you enjoy working
with and meet all of your needs then you should be able to
contact them with all your enquiries. It is valuable to have
this relationship with a venue finder as it saves a lot of time
and effort. It is also really handy when you have to arrange a
meeting at the last minute and you don't know where to start.
You can also suggest venue finders to your colleagues if they
 need to find a venue.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
There are thousands and thousands of reasons why you may need a
short-term loan, such as an emergency cash expense, a vacation,
a special gift or even just a night out with your loved ones.
However, you may be concerned that you are not eligible for a
loan because your credit rating is less than "perfect". Not to
worry, because even with bad credit, you can obtain instant cash
 from various payday advance companies.

There are two types of impaired credit loans; secured and
unsecured impaired credit loans. Secured personal loans would be
relevant if you have missed payments on a previous loan, have
had mortgage arrears, or have had credit card problems. In order
for you to obtain secured impaired credit loans, you would have
to provide collateral to ensure that you will receive payment.
Some common examples of collateral include your car, boat or
home. If you were to default on your loan then the lender would
take ownership of the possession you used as collateral.
Therefore, it would be wise to ponder this fact before applying
 for secured loans.

If you have bad credit, you should review the reasons behind
why this has occurred. In some instances, bad credit is the
result of unforeseen life events, such as illness and the
inability to work. Other times, bad credit is the result of bad
spending habits or living "beyond your means". In such cases, it
may be a good idea to source credit counseling before taking out
impaired credit loans that might lend to an already disastrous
 debt spiral.

Unsecured impaired credit loans are usually smaller loans in
the amount of $100 to approximately $1,000. The maximum amount
that would be able to be borrowed would be dependent on the
lending institution. Unsecured impaired credit loans will have
higher interest rates/fees than secured impaired credit loans
 for two reasons:

1.) The lender charges high fees or interest due to the
perceived "risk" to recoup the loan amount plus fees from those
 with impaired or bad credit.

2.) Higher fees and interest are charged due to the lender not
having the security that an underlying asset would provide.

Another source of impaired credit loans are payday loans,
otherwise known as cash advances or sort term loans. These are
essentially unsecured loans for a small amount with the life of
the loan being the time it takes for you to receive your next
pay check. In most instances, payday lenders do not take into
account bad credit. However, when they check your credit report,
it is only to determine if you have filed for bankruptcy in the
past or there is a chance that you would file for bankruptcy in
 the future.

If you are unsure where to begin in your search for the right
impaired credit loans, you may want to contact a mortgage
consultant. They will be able to provide you with reliable
helpful advice. Another alternative would be to contact a loan
establishment who can help in your financial struggles by
providing you with instant cash within the hour.

About The Author: Greg Ellis co-founded Cash Doctors,
Australia's largest online payday lender. Cash Doctors' founders
understand the Internet and their clients intimately, having
found themselves in need of a source of fast, convenient credit
in years gone by. In 2005 they created one

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Since forming in Ireland in July 1998, Westlife have become
household names in the United Kingdom, most of Europe,
Australia, Asia, Latin America and Africa. Their music has
evolved in parallel, from solely performing and recording
ballads into a more contemporary form of pop music. And with
that change, Lady Fortune has brought them tremendous success as
one of the greatest boy bands of all time.

Signed by the infamous Simon Cowell and managed by Ronan
Keating, Westlife have had 14 number one singles in the UK, the
third highest such total in UK music history. Only a certain Mr.
Presley and The Beatles have had more, indicating the huge
popularity the band hold over the record buying public.

They are also the only group to win the coveted Record of the
Year award in the UK an astounding 4 times, and it was estimated
that by the beginning of 2008, the group was worth in excess of
 19 million pounds.

But how did this popularity start? Westlife's first big break
came in 1998 when they opened a gig for Boyzone in Dublin. With
people now talking about them, they released their first single,
Swear It Again, in March 1999 and it went straight to the top of
the charts. When If I Let You Go went straight in at number 1
five months later, it cemented their status and made a statement
that they were no one-hit wonders. Flying Without Wings followed
in October, and the number 1 slot was theirs again; number 1's
it seemed, were as natural to them as eating and sleeping.

Their first album, Westlife, was released in November 1999 and
was a massive hit, peaking at number 2 in the UK, after being a
huge Christmas seller. The final single from the album, Fool
Again, was released and also hit number one, meaning all four of
their debut singles had hit top spot.

Westlife's follow-up album, Coast To Coast, was released in
November 2000, again just before Christmas, and it was an
enormous hit in the UK. It went on to be the country's fourth
biggest selling album of the year and outstripped their debut
album in sales by a mile.

Their third album came a year later, again in November, called
World of Our Own, featuring several songs that eventually became
number 1 hits, including Uptown Girl, Queen of My Heart, and
 World of Our Own.

Meanwhile the press were filled with daily rumours of an
impending split in the band, which worsened after the release of
their Greatest Hits album, Unbreakable, in November 2002. For
the next year they were dogged with constant speculation over
the future of the band, and found themselves having to deny
everything, despite a number 4 hit with Hey Whatever, and
another number 1 album in Turnaround.

On 9th March 2004, just before their their fourth European tour
was to start, Bryan McFadden announced he was leaving the band.
The press felt vindicated, and the departure was seen as having
an ill effect on the group, when for the first time in their
history, their new album did not make it to number 1; Allow Us
To Be Frank peaked "only" at number 3.

In November 2005, You Raise Me Up was released from their
seventh album, Face to Face, and on 6th November, both the album
and single broke records by being at number 1 in the UK charts
 simultaneously.

Still ignoring negative press activity, late 2006 saw Westlife
sign a brand new five album deal with Sony/BMG. Their eighth
studio album, The Love Album, followed and was made up of all
their previous covers of popular love songs. Another number 1
came in the form of their ninth studio album, Back Home, exactly
a year later. Westlife were now legends in their own time.

In late 2007, Westlife announced their intention to play the
historic Croke Park in Dublin, in front of a planned 70,000
fans. It will be their biggest ever concert, ensuring that
although no album is scheduled for 2008, they will make history
yet again, by playing to so many people in their hometown.

Bands come and go, but the classification and re-classification
of their music is an exercise that never grows old. There are no
hard and fast rules, no universally accepted methodology or
definitions to fall back on. Music geeks are faced with bands
that change their sound and/or appearance from release to
release and a classification system that is completely open to
 interpretation.

As a starting point, how about nailing down some basic
definitions and examples of musical genres? It sounds
straightforward, but even that can be a challenge. There is no
set number of agreed upon genres, names for the genres (or what
is even considered to be a standalone genre) and the definitions
themselves are frequently the subject of argument. But with the
help of Canadian uber-music geek Allan Cross, along with far too
many hours of trolling through music industry publications like
Rolling Stone and Spin, here's an attempt at some basic
definitions. By the way, we're sticking to the general rock
world for this exercise, so for the purposes of this article
only, country and/or western, jazz, adult contemporary and all
sorts of other music do not exist; they're off limits.

Emo: A style of music that's part punk in its sound, but
leaning heavily toward the emotional, melodramatic and
angst-ridden end of that spectrum. In other words, melodic and
moody punks. Jimmy Eat World is often lumped under the Emo
banner and many people would consider Panic! At The Disco and
AFI to be current occupants as well. The Smiths are another
 possible Emo contender.

Goth: An offshoot of the punk movement, Goth appealed to the
gloomier music fan. Proper attire was built almost entirely
around black and frequently extended to black-dyed hair, black
lipstick, heavy use of mascara and black nail polish. In
general, the look was spooky; the music could range from moody
to sinister. Classic examples: Siouxsie and the Banshees,
 Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy.

New Romantics: Appearing as part of the post-punk music scene
in the early 1980's, New Romantics favoured frilly shirts,
skinny ties and make-up. Classic bands in this vein included
Duran Duran, Visage, Japan and Roxy Music.

Synthpop: A sound that became popular in the late 1970's and
early 80's, Synthpop was, as the name suggests, pop-oriented
music that relied heavily on the use of keyboards, drum machines
and synthesisers, and tended to avoid guitars or at least
relegate them to supporting instruments. Classic examples:
Depeche Mode, Human League and OMD.

Heavy Metal: Gaining prominence in the late 60's and 70's,
Heavy Metal was a "heavy" blend of rock and blues with an
emphasis on guitar and drums. Bands tended to adopt a look that
included long hair, T-shirts, tight jeans and leather - you'd
never mistake them for New Romantics. Classic Heavy Metal bands
include Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. Spinal Tap is
the definitive Heavy Metal spoof band.

Heavy Metal spawned all sorts of offspring genres, of which
some were, or are, popular enough to deserve their own
 definitions.

 Hair Metal: Heavy Metal with more of a Pop or Rock flair;
nothing too deep but trying to appeal to a wider audience. Hair
Metal is all about appearance; a variation on the 70's glam look
featuring lipstick, tight leather, frills, bandanas, and long,
spiked, teased, or tinted hair. The look tended to undermine
their credibility among their more serious metal peers. Poison,
Ratt and Cinderella all went for this niche. Hair Metal bands
tend to suffer on the reunion circuit because, although they can
maybe still play, all too often their hair has failed over the
 years and without that...

Nu Metal: An attempt to update Heavy Metal for the 90's.
Elements of other genres were blended in, sometimes with Rap,
sometimes Grunge, perhaps a bit of Industrial or even Goth. It
still relies heavily on guitar and drums, but bands veered from
the classic Heavy Metal look and fancied themselves up a bit.
Classic examples: Korn, Orgy and Linkin Park.

Speed Metal: Think Heavy Metal, but faster. Because Heavy Metal
became too ponderous and lumbering for some, Speed Metal
developed. The Heavy Metal guitar solo became more dominant
within the songs and the tempos were greatly increased. Early
practitioners of the style included Judas Priest and more
contemporary bands such as Primal Fear have kept the tradition
 alive.

Progressive Rock (also known as Prog-Rock): This is what
happens when a Rock band decides to get intellectual and explore
concepts and musical virtuosity rather than aiming for the
classic three minute pop single. Synthesizers and string
instruments were often employed to fill out the sound and make
things more elaborate. Drummers abandoned their drum kits for
complex percussion stands. Rush, Pink Floyd and Genesis (at
least early Genesis) are among the better known Prog-Rock bands.

Industrial: Just as the name suggests, Industrial music sounds
big, noisy and mechanical. Not known for being particularly
radio-friendly because of the unusual sounds, aggressiveness and
frequent use of uncomfortable or socially-risqué subject
material. Classic examples include: Nine Inch Nails, Skinny
 Puppy and Ministry.

Hip Hop: Employing elements of a strong beat, sampling, rap and
often the use of a turntable, Hip Hop rose from the inner cities
to commercial success through the 80's. Run DMC, Beastie Boys
and OutKast are just a few examples of the vast catalogue of
 successful Hip Hop groups.

Punk: A style of music that became prominent in the mid to late
70's, punk was built around the premise that anyone could and
should make music, regardless of their musical skill. Punk
became a sounding board for a generation of angry youth whose
songs were about social statements with musical accompaniment
tending toward the loud, fast and simple. Classic examples: Sex
Pistols, The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers and The Ramones.

Electronic: A distinctive sound that developed in the mid to
late 70's as synthesiser technology became more widely
available. Unlike Synthpop, Electronic artists seemed more
interested in exploring soundscapes and stringing together
interesting noises than producing singles. Kraftwerk was one of
the pioneers of the Electronic movement.

Grunge: A sound that grew out of, and became synonymous with,
the Seattle music scene in the late 1980's and early 1990's; a
heavy punk meets metal kind of affair. The typical grunge
uniform consisted of jeans and a short-sleeve T-shirt worn over
top of a long-sleeved T-Shirt, sometimes with an ubiquitous
goatee beard on the chin of male practitioners. Bonus points
were awarded for wearing a red and black check lumber jacket.
Examples: Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains.

Psychedelic Rock: For those who liked Rock and Heavy Metal, but
found them too restrictive, Psychedelic Rock added all sorts of
guitar fuzz, distortion and occasionally disjointed lyrics to
create a distinct sound. Classic examples include The Jesus and
Mary Chain and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, with its roots
going back to the 1960's with the Strawberry Alarm Clock and
 even The Beatles.

Rockabilly: When rock got just too damned complicated, some
bands apparently had a hankering for the old-school, 50's style
roots rock pioneered by Elvis Presley and others. They donned
rolled up jeans, white T-shirts and black leather motorcycle
jackets, slicked back their hair, and pumped out the rockabilly.
You won't find a better example than The Stray Cats.

Ska: A combination of Jamaican music and rock that reached the
height of its popularity in the late 70's and early 80's with
British bands like Madness, The English Beat and The Specials.
Ska was danceable, and the bands tended to be larger than
typical rock outfits, employing the standard guitar/drum/bass
combo but usually augmenting this with horns, an organ and
keyboards, and sometimes a designated stage dancer.

Next up in the classification of music is a series of more
general terms used to encompass a wider swath of music,
frequently for the purpose of describing a radio station's music
 format.

Alt-Rock: Starting off simply enough as an alternative to the
rock music being played on mainstream radio, this used to be a
somewhat rare classification, dominated by bands that could be
heard on alternative or college radio stations: R.E.M., for
example. But by the 1990's, "rock" as it had been known was
being left behind on radio and what was known as Alt-Rock
actually began to dominate the play lists.

Rock: Once upon a time this used to be straightforward. The
Beatles, The Rolling Stones and other bands like them, were
considered Rock bands. As time passed though, these bands tended
to be lumped under Classic Rock. Today there are Rock bands -
Foo Fighters being a good example - but they are frequently
referred to as Alt-Rock. In other words, Alt-Rock has, for a
large part, usurped Rock as "rock" these days. Confused? You and
 me both...

Indie: Bands that are not directly affiliated with any of the
major record labels, typically giving the artists greater
artistic control over their music, at the cost of personally
shouldering a greater percentage of the production, promotion
and distribution costs of their music. College radio stations
are big proponents of Indie bands, but some, like Arcade Fire,
have made the jump to mainstream.

Pop: The least frightening (at least on the surface), most
melodic and radio-friendly of them all, Pop artists aim to sell
vast quantities of records and do so by appealing to the widest
audience possible. Pop music itself changes over time, but pop
stations are where you'll hear the likes of Michael Jackson,
Britney Spears, Spice Girls and Girls Aloud.

Classic Rock: Now that Alt-Rock is known as Rock, and former
Rock bands are sounding a little quaint to many listeners, where
does that leave the 60's, 70's and 80's Rock bands? They are now
conveniently packed under the term Classic Rock, a massive
category that can include anything from The Beatles to Van
 Halen.

New Wave: A marketing-derived term originally used by record
companies to describe many of the Synthpop and New Romantic
post-punk British bands of the late 1970's and early 1980's.
This is a very broad label and was eventually used to describe
anything from Depeche Mode to A-Ha.

So it turns out that genres and classifications are constantly
evolving, bands are moving between genres and even the
definitions themselves are subject to interpretation.

An artist like Neil Young is a good example of the way in which
musicians vex the music geeks. At the beginning of his career,
Young played with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Still, Nash
and Young. He would have been typically classified as a Rock
musician, with a leaning toward Folk.

Then Neil went through a phase where he moved toward a Country
sound, again with a touch of Folk. Harvest is pretty
representative of this period, but then came Rock again with
songs such as Like A Hurricane. From out of nowhere, he veered
into Electronic with an album that was so unexpected, he ended
up in a fight with his record label over whether the release
satisfied his contractual obligation they basically argued
that Re-Ac-Tor was so out there, it "shouldn't count as a Neil
 Young record."

Young went through a bit of a Rockabilly phase, then eventually
sashayed into Grunge, with his Rockin' In The Free World single
being adopted by Grunge converts as an anthem. From there,
Harvest Moon swayed dangerously close to Adult Contemporary, and
now he appears to be back to his Folk roots.

So how on earth do you classify Neil Young? Well, you could
choose to break his career into phases and classify each of
those individually, or do the safe thing and file him under
Classic Rock. There's a good weekend worth of arguing over this
one, and don't think it won't happen.

And of course, you can combine any of the categories and
classifications in an attempt to define a band. The Police, for
example, defy a straightforward definition and so become a
compound categorization: reggae-influenced, new wave, post-punk,
 power-pop trio.

 Simple, isn't it?

For different people, the value of life holds different
weights. Success is defined differently depending on one's
perspective. Today, many life-changing philosophies express the
value of achievement and fulfillment within the confines of
finding a tangible passion. In the pursuit of happiness, people
turn to life coaches and inspirational giants to help them
achieve the success that they desire.

One of these giants is Tony Robbins. Already regarded as a
successful life coach and motivational speaker, Robbins
possesses a positive outlook that he willingly shares. Thinking
the Robbin's Way has become a philosophy that is applied to
reach one's life potential, financial freedom, and purpose
driven living. His status and charm suggests that finding a
dynamic journey towards a life of success is possible.

The Robbins' Philosophy can be summarized in this quote: The
only true security in life comes from knowing that every single
day you are improving yourself in some way. These words of
wisdom suggest two things which are improvement come from the
science of achievement and achievement breeds an intricate art
of life fulfillment. Knowing that there is room for improvement
and focusing all our energies to reach our potential transcends
the boundaries and limitations set even by the institutional
structures today. As one can say, success knows no race, gender,
 religion, or financial status.

Tony Robbins also believes in transforming your dreams into
reality. By following certain rules to become a result-oriented
person, following a direction towards a vision will help make
you the success that you believe you are. Tony Robbins helps
build the foundation to drive a different outlook to life.
Whatever your goals are, his philosophy will always help you
find the momentum to achieve it.

Tony Robbins' intricate thoughts contain a plethora of
different ideas. First, he maintains the importance of the
physical body in connection with one's emotional state.
Controlling the physical state will prevent you from making
emotional decisions that can go wrong most of the time. Another
important note is his view on the importance of reflection.
Having regular reflection will allow you to ask questions about
yourself as a feedback to your actions. Thus, the quality of
your life is proportional to the quality of questions you ask
 yourself.

Reflection and meditation is perhaps the one important thing
that people overlook. Meditation and self-talk puts us in a
position where we rate ourselves and give ourselves our own
life-score. Knowing our life-score will let us know where we are
and how to get where we want to be. Tony Robbins emphasizes that
understanding ones self will keep us in constant check with our
 sense of achievement and fulfillment.

Tony Robbins also borrows the psychological concepts of pain
and pleasure and how rewards and hurting can help mold our
outlook in life. Tony Robbins also values creativity during the
time of routine and as a tool to escape being stuck. Doing the
unexpected is a way to break out our shell and move forward.
Finding the ability to visualize your goals and tasks ahead will
help you achieve a sense of fulfillment for every step of
success that allows you to move forward. For Tony Robbins,
visualizing achievements gives you something to feel good about.

The philosophy of Tony Robbins is definitely a part of an
inspiring message that one can master. Whether you are achieving
financial success or reaching your life potential, structuring
our lives under the philosophies of inspirational giants and
life coaches such as Tony Robbins will help you set a clearer
 path toward your ultimate goals.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
 The Setting for Online Education

Today's fast changing landscape has drawn a hazy line between
the importance of classical university education and online
education degrees. A mobile workforce has given reference to
output rather than looking through experience given by
traditional education and skill. The world has changed to give a
head start for quick decision makers and fast thinkers. In this
setting, earning a degree does not seem as a tall order as it
 seems.

Alternative education is holding ground for employers and
students alike. Online education was once given the label as
inferior education. But today, employers are even offering
reimbursement for their employees who are willing to take the
risk of acquiring an online education degree.

Finding the Advantages in Online Education Degrees

The relevance of online education degrees started with the
shift in teaching methods found in the internet and traditional
schooling. With the advent of the internet and the current Web
2.0, training styles are being upgraded and challenging courses
are now being developed. Internet based learning also offers a
wide variety of material along different media formats. In this
way, students are taught to learn in a dynamic environment which
can't be easily duplicated in a classroom setting. Therefore,
most employers find graduates of online education more
motivated, output oriented, and more flexible to different
 stimuli.

The industry is now coming into the light on the advantages of
online education over traditional schooling. There are two forms
of this education. These are continuing education and degree
focused programs. Continuing education aims in developing and
polishing a specific set of skills. These trainings can include
basic computer programming, software training, and refresher
courses of the latest engineering and medical trends. The goal
of continuing education is too update career professional and
other individuals who seek to sharpen their comparative
 advantage.

Meanwhile getting online education degrees focuses on online
training programs to arrive at an academic credit. These credits
may include licensures, Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, and
even PhD. Degree-focused online education is embraced by the
premier universities across nations. Such a trend has enveloped
the consciousness of the student population, the workforce, and
 the leading industries.

The value of college degrees have never waned. However, the
methods to get these degrees have become more varied. Distance
learners find that even highly structured subjects such as
management training are being offered online. The possibilities
of online education degrees are endless.

The Litmus Test on Online Education

Online education represents the core of how things are learned
today. At a time of breakneck information dissemination, nearly
anyone can enter the market and be a productive part of an
industry. The 21st century trend looks at the value of
creativity in an individual sense as a contributing factor to
society and wealth creation rather than the structures of
competition. That is why it is not surprising that 21st century
educators use online education exhaustively as a medium to bring
their message. Online education is continually challenging
 traditional methods of education.

In another perspective, online education questions traditional
degrees. Most employers fall into statistical discrimination as
they choose applicants who come from prime universities.
However, the development of this kind of education brings a
message that traditional learning should not be the measuring
stick for career success. It is always the alternative voice
that states the value of experience, ability, output
orientation, and dynamism as tools to get ahead in life. As
Jamie McIntyre implies, degrees are not as useful if it only
teaches you how to work hard. Instead, continuing online
education and online education degrees shows us that output,
dynamics, and skills are much more important than the name in
 the front of one's diploma.

In this sense, 21st century trends and voices of 21st century
educators agree with the value of online education degrees as
vehicle for career development and financial success.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Home owners who are struggling to keep up with their mortgage
repayments are being hounded by so-called "mortgage rescue
firms" who promise to save potential evictees from home
 repossession.

The cost of borrowing has increased considerably over the past
year due to rising interest rates. Previously low mortgage
repayments have increased significantly for some home owners,
particularly if their mortgage contains a variable interest rate
or a discount rate period that has expired.

The increase in monthly mortgage repayments has lead to a rapid
rise in mortgage arrears and possession orders. Home owners who
are facing repossession and eviction have become easy targets
for mortgage rescue firms who promise to stop the repossession
process and help the home owners to stay on their properties as
 tenants.

Mortgage rescue firms come in various forms from large,
national firms to small companies operating as sole traders in
local areas. The mortgage rescue firm will typically offer the
distressed home owner a heavily discounted price for their
property and allow them to remain in the property as a rent
 paying tenant.

The amount of money offered for the properties varies
considerably. It will usually depend on how much money the
distressed home owner owes on their mortgage balance plus any
arrears that have accumulated. This amount can sometimes be less
than half the value of the property on the open market.

While this may seem unreasonable, the point of the exercise is
to rescue the property owner from repossession and many years of
financial hardship. For many individuals, this offer is
attractive enough to accept, despite the fact they will lose
thousands of pounds of equity in their home.

Normally, the mortgage rescue firm will allow the occupant to
remain in the property as a rent paying tenant. Unfortunately
for many people who accept the offer, they fail to realize that
they have no legal recourse to remain in the property long-term.
Instead, they will become a rent paying tenant on an assured
short hold tenancy agreement, and when the term expires they can
 be evicted.

This is the part of the deal that property owners who are in
financial distress need to be aware of. While the repossession
process may be stopped and the home owner is allowed to remain
in the property for a short time, the mortgage rescue firm has
no obligation to allow the tenant to remain in the property over
 the long term.

Home owners who sell their properties to mortgage rescue firms
should therefore attempt to negotiate a long term lease in if
they wish to obtain any form of security regarding remaining as
 a tenant in the property.

Instead of contacting a rescue firm in the first instance, home
owners who are struggling to keep up with their mortgage
repayments should first attempt to find a solution with their
current lender. If they fail to find a solution the home owner
should then try to remortgage their property with another lender
provided they can afford to keep up with the repayments. By
remortgaging the individual will be able to remain in their
property and may not be forced to sell it.

Article Title: How To Work Out Your Own Property Valuation

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
If you're thinking about moving house in the next 12 months,
the first thing you'll want to know is: just how much is my home
 actually worth?

A sensible first step to answering that question is to get
three local estate agents in. If you pick agents that have been
recommended to you, or have a great reputation locally, you
should get a property valuation from each that are roughly in
 the same price bracket.

There are a couple of tricks to watch out for. Be aware if they
ask you what you think the house is worth. Some agents do this
not only to find out which of their competitors have valued the
property and how much for (so ensuring they can top it by a few
thousand), but also what your expectations are. A bad agent will
encourage you to list the house for sale at less than its true
property valuation, in the hope of a quick sale.

Another trick is when they push you for the reasons behind your
move. Again, unscrupulous agents can use this reason as
leverage. If you need to sell quickly because of a job move,
they could use it down the line to lever a price drop from you
or worse encourage you to under or over-price the property to
start with. You can have realistic timescale discussions with
agents once the sale process is under way, and there are
 prospective buyers visiting.

On top of getting agents in, there is a way that you can work
out your own property valuation, by combining information that
is freely available on the internet with your own research. Most
agents give a fair opinion of the likely property valuation of
your home, but it's prudent for you to check yourself
especially now that so much information is available to you via
 the internet.

Here are a number of things you should do to put an accurate
property valuation figure on your home. Make sure you do them
before you talk to estate agents, so your opinion isn't
influenced by the valuations you are given.

Find out what the market is doing

Keep up-to-date with property news for a few months before you
plan on putting your home up for sale. Because it seems to be a
national obsession, you will soon work out what's happening to
the market. Often the national picture can be a little different
locally, so get in the habit of buying your local newspaper and
checking the property pages. Don't base your opinion on one
piece of news. There are many firms and organisations that do
surveys and release information on the state of the property
market. Keep notes of what you read and look back at the overall
picture after a number of months.

 Pound the pavements

Visit local estate agents, tell them you are considering
selling your house and ask them what's happening with the local
market. Most will be happy to help, particularly if you pop in
during a quiet time. Whatever they tell you ask for evidence,
in the form of recent properties sold, reductions in house
prices, etc. Again you are looking for trends across a number of
agents rather than evidence from one.

 Look at what's sold recently

The Land Registry collects data about every property that is
sold in the UK. Three months after the sale it releases the
price paid. That's gold dust, as you can look at similar
properties to yours in the area and how much they sold for. Be
aware that sales more than 12 months old will have old data
that's really no good to you. And make allowances about how
things like a conservatory or a new kitchen will make a
difference in the property valuation. You can access Land
Registry data with a simple internet search.

Look at what's for sale now

Search through property portals for similar properties. This is
your best indication of what your house could be worth. Also
look through local newspaper's property pages for more
information about local homes for sale.

Remember, a little research will not only make your sale
easier, but could even get you a higher property valuation
resulting in more cash in your pocket.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
The Government introduced the compulsory seatbelt law 25 years
ago. It says that this has saved prevented 60,000 deaths since
 1993.

However, a significant number of people are still ignoring the
compulsory law to wear a seatbelt in the rear of cars which came
in 17 years ago. Surveys suggest that many people still do not
realize it is compulsory to wear a seatbelt in the rear of cars.
Without a seatbelt you are 30 times more likely to be thrown
from a car after an accident, and three quarters of people
thrown from a car are killed!

Even if you are fortunate enough not to be killed when not
wearing a seatbelt, you are much more likely to be seriously
injured if you fail to wear a seatbelt. Most new cars are fitted
with safety devices designed to minimise your injury in the
event of an accident. But all of these systems are designed to
work most efficiently when the user is wearing a seatbelt.

In addition, if you are involved in an accident and suffer
injury whilst not wearing a seatbelt, any claim for compensation
will be reduced by at least 25% for "contributory negligence",
in effect, your decision not to protect yourself whilst wearing
 a seatbelt.
 1stClaims Director Comment

As a personal injury solicitor myself dealing with accident
compensation claims for 14 years I have seen the horrific
results that can be caused by a road traffic accident. I have
also heard many other dreadful true stories. The worst one was
from a solicitor friend of mine. Please read on if you do not
wear seatbelts, or a member of your family doesn't.

My friend was acting for the girlfriend of a deceased passenger
who had been sitting in the same car as she had when they were
involved in an accident. He has been sitting directly behind her
in the rear of the car when the collision occured but had not
 been wearing his seatbelt.

At the inquest the girlfriend asked the coroner what would have
happened if her boyfriend had been wearing his seatbelt. The
coroner replied that sadly there would probably not have been an
inquest because the boyfriend would have survived.

It is tragic events like this, and the death of Diana, that
prove beyond doubt that wearing seatbelts is compulsory for very
 good reason, it saves lives.

Please ensure that you wear seatbelts, not only to comply with
the law, or not even to, but to ensure your loved ones do not
need to hear the coroner tell them what happened if you had not
been so stubborn and put your seatbelt on.

If you have been involved in a Road Accident, you need prompt

treatment, and help with your insurance claim forms. We can

Article Title: Know What To Look For In Vintage Costume Jewelry

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
One of the biggest challenges for the new collector is
determining which pieces of vintage costume jewelry are most
profitable to target and which to avoid. While fine jewelry was
often hand-made using precious materials like diamonds and
rubies, costume pieces were made in mass batches using
semi-precious materials like quartz and topaz. However, you
should never mistake vintage costume jewelry with the cheap
glittery garbage you see in most department stores today.

American soldiers were the first to purchase costume jewelry in
French boutiques during WWI, making the jewelry widely popular
after they returned home. In fact, by the end of the 1920's, the
once-European industry was dominated by American companies like
Coventry, Eisenberg, and Coro creating many of the most prized
 collectible pieces.

Profitable collecting definitely boils down to identifying the
valuable pieces while avoiding the pretty but worthless ones.
Ultimately, the value of any piece is determined by:

 Supply
 Demand
 Design
 Materials
 Condition

If other pricing factors are held constant, then the rarity of
the piece will greatly determine value. With so many producers
of costume jewelry, no uniform batch size was established,
causing supply to vary dramatically according to manufacturer.
Production runs tended to be relatively large for big companies
like Coro and Brooks, producing a larger market supply, and thus
 less demand.

As with any product or service, greater demand will always
translate into a higher price. Eisenberg jewelry will likely
always be a hot item in the collectibles market, but be on the
lookout for Miriam Haskell pieces as they are popular at the
moment. Some designs are collectible while others are not.
Learning to tell the difference between the two will ultimately
determine whether collecting is profitable or just a hobby.
Remember, the most popular designs are not necessarily the
prettiest or most unique, but they will be more profitable to
collect. However, demand for a particular piece is stimulated
most often by the actual design of the jewelry.

Collecting vintage costume jewelry for profit is complicated by
the fact that most of the pieces are actually unsigned. Seasoned
collectors will not hesitate to shun a signed piece in favor of
an unsigned one featuring a unique and impressive design, as
unsigned jewelry tends to be undervalued and the most profitable
to collect. One sure way to identify a particular manufacturer
is by design. Some manufacturers consistently produced pieces of
exceptional design and are highly coveted by collectors like
those made by Bogoff and Hollycraft.

Although the design is critical to the overall demand of any
particular piece, the materials and construction techniques used
to make the jewelry ultimately validates or repudiates the
legitimacy of the design. Pay particular attention to the type
and quality of gemstones on any given piece since the stones
will greatly affect value. Gemstones of exceptional quality were
consistently used by a few of the major manufacturers such as:

 Bogoff
 Bergere
 Weiss
 Eisenberg

As is the case with any vintage costume piece, final antique
value assessment will ultimately be based upon condition of the
piece. But remember, even vintage pieces showing considerable
signs of wear can still command $100 or more. By knowing what to
look for, seasoned vintage costume or fashion jewelry collectors
can still make great profits even off of slightly damaged or
 worn pieces.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Here's a predication that I know will irritate the technically
oriented Kings of SEO: Looking hard into my crystal ball, as one
does, I reckon that their days are numbered and that they are a
dying breed! Now before the techies swarm around LeadGenerators
HQ with pitchforks and flaming torches ready to silence the
web-marketing heathen, allow me to explain

Those of you who know me are no doubt well aware of my healthy
disregard for the techno-centric view of internet marketing. In
my mind, instead of technical considerations dictating what we
should try to achieve, we marketing managers should dictate what
we want and then find the technical solutions to achieve it. I
know that this attitude annoys the technocrats who seem to
dominate the online marketing world, but my approach has proved
 successful in its own right.

I have always seen SEO as a two-stage process. The first is to
make sure that a client's website is search engine friendly.
This process analyses the structural elements of the site to
make sure that search engines are able to see ALL the pages of
the site and are able to rank (judge) each page in its own
right. It's a lengthy analysis that covers many aspects of the
site but it's largely a one-off project. Once done, and once the
site has been improved accordingly, the techies' work is more or
 less done.

The larger, second step is all-important and all about the
 content of the site itself.

For a site to achieve good rankings, we need to first select
the right keywords. I won't go into the science of keyword
research and selection, but once the best ones have been
selected for a client, we need to move into the realm of
writing, sprinkling certain keywords strategically throughout
the text and the code of each page. This is an ongoing process
which we divide into what we call `streams'. A few of the major
streams to improve the rankings of each page for its specific
 keyword mix are:

KEC: The process of enriching the texts in the site with the
right amount of keywords and phrases.

Coding: Adding in the right keywords for each page into the
 meta tags.

Links: (reciprocal and one way): Getting good links from
other sites that are well ranked for the same keywords that we
are using. This includes forum participation, involvement in
social media and other elements of Web2.0.

Web PR: Submitting keyword rich articles to the syndicated
news feeds for the purposes of achieving both links and market
 exposure.

The common denominator for all the above tasks is good writing
and communication skills, combined with good old-fashioned
common sense, which most technically minded people aren't best
suited to provide. It is the writers and communicators not the
programmers who have delivered our best results in the past
and will continue to do so in the future.

There is a rather tacky expression in the SEO community that
says "Content is King". I would like to get a little tackier if
I may: If content is King, then the up and coming Princes of SEO
must surely be the writers and communicators.

Just a thought and I look forward to comments.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
The world of HGV insurance has never exactly been the most
thrilling, and while I'm aware that writing an article on what
to look out for in haulage insurance is enough to put a good
deal of my readers into a narcoleptic coma, I nonetheless think
it's an important, and sometimes confusing, issue worth
covering. I hope that this article will prove to be of some use
for those struggling in reams of small print and clauses.

Firstly, you may ask why you need insurance. That is to say,
why you need specific UK truck insurance, because obviously
there's a legal requirement to have basic vehicular cover to be
on British roads in the first place. Extra cover, like goods in
transit lorry insurance can seem a lot of extra hassle to
arrange, and an unnecessary cost in times when some owner
operators and haulage companies are trying hard to make ends
meet, but it's worth considering the extra security your
customers will feel knowing their goods are properly protected.
Well publicised UK lorry insurance can lend an extra air of
legitimacy to an unproven owner operator starting out for the
first time. And of course it's not just about appearances if
goods are damaged on the road and you're not insured, you're
going to have to either pay for the damages yourself, or endure
a drawn out legal battle with someone who could have become a
good customer. Likewise, if the employees of a big haulage
company have an accident and blame the owners, some kind of
protection can make all the difference towards an amiable
 resolution.

So here's a rundown to the types of UK truck insurance on
offer, and what they provide. Some are compulsory, while others
are optional and it's up to you to decide whether you can do
without them, though obviously I have my own views that I shall
 share along the way

 Vehicle Insurance

Any vehicle on the road must be insured - that's a legal
requirement which most people are aware of, and naturally it
counts for lorries as well! This is obviously a major expense
for owner operators starting out, so it actually makes sense to
see how prices compare for different lorries before you decide
which type you intend to purchase, allowing you to save on your
 vehicle's haulage insurance.

 Goods in Transit Truck Insurance

It's worth stumping up the extra cash for 'Goods in Transit'
insurance as well. This will protect your cargo against loss and
damage, which can offer real peace of mind when you're loading
up delicate valuable into the back of the truck. Be sure the
haulage insurance you select will cover you to a high enough
value if you're claiming for damage to items worth £20,000,
and you only have goods in transit truck insurance for goods
valued up to £10,000 then you're going to be paying half the
 damages!

Your main insurance company might cover this, but if not, then
it's very easy to get this from specialist UK lorry insurance
dealers. This is especially worth considering for new owner
operators, as it makes you seem more legitimate and people will
feel they have the peace of mind to take a chance on you, in all
 your untested glory.

 Public Liability

This one may not be as necessary as the other two, but is still
worth considering, especially for new owner operators with
butter fingers! This aspect of UK lorry insurance will cover you
for incidents involving your customers, for example if you drop
their entire batch of pianos on their foot. It does more for
backup basically, and gives you extra legal grounding should
 accidents happen.

 Continental Lorry Insurance

This one is something that's either essential or pointless,
depending on how you do business, but it's really easy to work
out, of course: Do you spend any of your work hours delivering
loads abroad on the continent? If yes, then you need continental
haulage insurance, if not you can save that money and stick to a
 UK truck insurance policy.

These options vary between essential and optional, but all
should be carefully considered it really doesn't pay to cut
corners to make a short term saving, and HGV insurance can
really offer you some essential leeway should things go wrong,
whether you own a fleet of freight vehicles or are a humble
owner operator. If you are looking to insure an entire fleet
with lorry insurance, it's worth remembering that discounts are
often available and wide ranging, so don't be afraid to shop
 around!

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
The Alfa Romeo 166 is an illustrious member of the Alfa Romeo
family, and the Italian automaker has kept this tradition with a
long fruitful production period from 1998 to 2007. This
executive class car has its own unique appearance that is
synonymous with the Alfa Romeo line; the pointed nose and the
drooping headlights. The 166 was the successor of the 164 which
also possessed and stuck to its reputation of unorthodox
features, which the automaker considers to be "corporate" in
 stature.

This 4 door Sedan with an FF Layout, has a wheel base of 2720mm
 (107 inches), a height of 1416mm (55.7 in), a generous length of
4720 (185.8 in), and a width of 1810mm (71.2 in) making the Alfa
Romeo 166 one of the heftiest Sedans on the market. But
nevertheless, the 166 still received rave reviews for its
handling distinctiveness, stylish designed exterior and the
 range of its engines.

The four different types of engines that the Alfa Romeo 166
were available with at the time of production are: a 2.0-litre
 Twin Spark engine (155PS), a 3.0 V6 (226PS), a 2.5 V6 (190PS) or
 a V6 2.0 Turbo (205PS). Whereas the diesel engine came in a L5
 2.4 10v common rail turbodiesel edition with a 136, 140, and 150
PS yields. The 3.0, L5 2.4 and the V6 Turbo were distributed
with a six speed manual gearbox, while the 2.5 and the 3.0 had
the choice of a Sportronic automatic, and the TS model possessed
 a five speed gearbox.

The Alfa Romeo 166 had many problems with overall marketing and
sales of the vehicle; in spite of its rave reviews, it was out
done in sales by the stronger German made brands, and because of
its immense depreciation factors in the UK. The car would be
sold for roughly 30,000 British Pounds and its fall within a
year would in the ballpark of a ghastly 13,000 British Pounds.
It simply did not work out financially strong in the ending for
 its customers.

And even though, the 166 underwent a substantial makeover in
2003, it was still withdrawn from the right-hand drive markets
in October 2005, because sales of the car still didn't increase.
A few markets kept the marketing of the 166 strictly to the
company car arenas where it may still be well received, and
 where it built its standing.

Even though with all of its highlighted shortcomings, the Alfa
Romeo 166 still possessed its poise and grandeur of its lineage
and will go on, and morph into something else, that is certainly
to become another trend setter in the Alfa Romeo family.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
The 2007 NBA draft class was the most hyped and highly covered
of any draft class in the last five years and maybe even this
decade and 9 of the 10 first picks were still teenagers.
Something very profound has occurred in the NBA in the past two
years due in large part to the new rule that disallows any high
school student from entering the NBA draft until they are 19
years old, requiring that they spend a year in the NCAA at a
college of their choice before they make the big jump. The 2008
draft class is looking to be infinitely deeper than last year's
as a result with freshman like Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, and
O.J. Mayo shaping up to be some of the most exciting college
 freshman in years.

 New Rules, Unexpected Results

David Stern's assertion that the NBA will no longer draft
players fresh out of high school came as a bit of shock and
upset many basketball owners, players, and fans two years ago.
Essentially, his goal was to reduce the number of players who
were drafted at 18 only to sit on a bench for four years making
seven figures while they "developed" into the player everyone
 thought they could become.

The results have been multi-fold. Beyond creating some of the
most exciting draft classes in recent memory, the new rule has
revitalized college basketball and turned it into a high flying,
epic sport of showmanship and superstars that might not have
ever played a day of college basketball if they were give a
chance to enter the NBA draft.

 What this Means for Basketball

Now, when a superstar like O.J. Mayo or Derrick Rose graduates
from High School, they don't actually have a choice in what they
do next. They have to go to college. The NBA won't have them for
another year, so they allow the slew of college recruiters to
invade their living rooms and talk up their parents with
scholarships and perks and eventually they commit and suit up
for a college they only intend on staying at for one year.

But something very interesting happens in that one year some
sink and some don't. And this is why the new age limit is so
genius. Take Chase Budinger fore example, a sophomore at
Arizona. Two years ago, he would have entered the draft out of
High School if he could of. He had the raw talent that scouts
used to look for, hoping to find the next big high school
 superstar.

Unfortunately, only some players are actually as good as High
School makes them look. Sure, LeBron James looked incredible and
at 18 years of age was incredible in the NBA he adjusted fast.
But Budinger made the NCAA and discovered he was not NBA ready
he was hardly NCAA ready. He had had it too easy in High School,
making him look much better than he was.

So, he stuck with college and will likely finish out his four
year career there, becoming better and readying himself for a
 possible shot at the draft.

 Long Term Results

While the players may not enjoy the prospect that they must
wait on that seven figure contract for four more years or maybe
even not at all, but the results are incredible for basketball.

As a result, no longer do we see the draft littered with bust
picks of players who had all the potential in the world but who
had never been tested. The college ranks are better than ever at
showing what a player might be able to pull off in the NBA and
thus the freshmen who average 25 points a game and get drafted
at 19 actually deserve to be drafted. Throw in a few
international stars from a growing worldwide pool of talent, and
the draft is getting stronger every year, making basketball
better and more enjoyable for every city to watch and what more
can you honestly ask for than that?

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
The Great Tradition of Afternoon Tea

Almost anyone who drinks tea has their own idea about the tea
tradition of Afternoon Tea. It's an event celebrated through
decades of British poetry, books, and movies, and is an event
known around the world as a result. However, few Americans
understand the history of this experience and its origins, and
therefore they understand little of its true significance.

 The History

The 7th Duchess of Bedford, Anna Maria, a lady-in-waiting to
Queen Victoria, is reputed to have begun the tradition. Because
Victorian dinners were often served "fashionably late" she would
begin to feel hunger pains around five in the afternoon. Rather
than waiting until dinner to satisfy her hunger, she asked her
butler to have tea served in the late afternoon accompanied by
bread and butter and a few cakes or biscuits. It satisfied her
to the degree that she soon made it a habit, even inviting her
friends to join her in the sitting room for the event. When
Queen Victoria herself adopted the practice, the tradition
became even more popular. As tea eventually became more
affordable, the middle class was able to join in on this ritual
dessert tea as well, and when that occurred, the event quickly
became an activity enjoyed by all.

Of course, this is a well known and respected tradition in the
United Kingdom, and it is really a light meal. References to low
tea and high tea have little to do with the elegance of this
popular tea service. The terms low tea and high tea have more to
do with the height of the surface on which tea is served than
whether it is elegant or inelegant.

In fact, Afternoon tea can be very elegant. It is traditionally
served between two and five in the afternoon and may include
finger sandwiches, scones, jams, cakes, and even assorted
pastries. It might very well be served on a low table in the
sitting room or even the bedroom, hence the term "low tea."
Traditionally, only loose tea is served in a china teapot,
possibly accompanied by milk and sugar. Occasionally, even more
elaborate desserts such as trifle, a multi-layered cake, are
served as well. Afternoon Tea is usually served in the more
formal rooms of the house rather than the kitchen, and this
elegant treat is accompanied by the best linens, fine china and
 silver teapots.

 High Tea

As I mentioned, high tea is a different tea service. High tea
is really an early evening meal, and generally occurs between
the later hours of 5 and 6 o'clock. It typically consists of
cold meats, eggs, cakes and sandwiches and is a more formal
event. Because of the type of foods served tends to be served on
the table regularly used for meals, a higher table, and hence
 the term "high tea."

 Which Type of Tea?

When it comes to what tea should be served at Afternoon Tea,
there are many choices. Often, the hostess makes the tea using
an electric kettle to boil the water. Because the water is just
off the boil when it is poured over the tea more flavor is
extracted. It also effectively reduces the time it takes to
 actually brew the tea.

The longer you brew tea, the more the tannin will be dissolved,
and the tea will taste less bitter. Full leaf tea will also
taste better because full leaf loose tea is not as broken as
some of the the tea you might find in teabags which often
include finely ground tea dust called fannings. Keep in mind
that if you do use loose tea, you will need to use a tea
strainer to keep from getting tea leaves in your cup. On the
other hand, tea leaves in your Afternoon Tea cup gives you the
opportunity to give a tea leaf reading, but that's for another
article. Tea is a delicious beverage that is enjoyed around the
world and in many cultures. Why don't you brew a nice steaming
 "cuppa" today.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 19 years old, and a
friend of mine invited me to an Amway meeting.

I had no idea what I was going to, however it sounded like an
opportunity of a life time so I was off to Marina Del Ray
California to the see the "BIG SHOW", and find out what all the
 excitement was about.

I remember this guy in about his early 50's standing on stage
with all these products, and a chalk board.

He talked about the magnificent product line, one being a
cleaner that could clean anything from your carpet to the
 kitchen sink!

I then watched him talk about the opportunity behind these
products, and I was thinking: this is my ticket to financial
 freedom!

Ok, he finally finished with the crowd clapping wildly, and him
mentioning that we should discuss this "once in a lifetime"
opportunity with the person who brought us.

I walked out of the building with all types of possibilities
swirling in my head, however I was more realistic than most,
because I knew how hard marketing any product or service can be.

Mind you, I grew up making extra money for summer and school
going "door to door" (hitting over 150 homes a day) generating
leads for a home improvement company, so I knew it was no easy
task to get people to make a decision and say "YES" to your
 offer.

I got so good at it that I eventually ran a whole crew for that
 company.

Anyway... I just kept thinking about the awesome power of
leveraging time, money, and people in order to generate a true
 "walk away" income.

I thought... "I'm on my way!"

My friend and I, plus the person who invited him to the
opportunity meeting went to a restaurant to discuss our future
 with the business.

My friend's companion sat us down and "wined and dined" us, so
to speak (I think it was a Dennys restaurant where no alcohol
was served, so we were safe). He proceeded to ask us about our
dreams and what we wanted to do three to five years from now.

We had a brief discussion, and after we ate, we were off to our
cars. Just as we were going to leave, the guy who had invited us
to dinner asked us to join the opportunity right then and there!

I didn't know what to say. I had no funds on me, and at the
time I didn't even own a credit card.

I said I would think about it, however my buddy, and his friend
bought a starter kit ( I think it was around $90.00 at the time)
 right on the spot!

I wasn't sure what just happened, but as we were driving back
to the San Fernando Valley (just North of Los Angeles) all I
could hear was my buddy and his friend talking about how they
were going to be sitting pretty in three to five years, and they
were wondering if I was going to join them.

I said sure, I'll talk to my Dad, and I think he will loan me
 the money to get started.

They said great, and we were happily on our way home.

 REALITY STRIKES

The next day, I talked to my Dad about the opportunity, and let
him know I needed $90.00 to get started - I wanted in.

He said he didn't think it would be a good idea. I asked him
why. He told me it was not a legitimate business, and I would be
wasting my time and money. I was dejected, and that was that...

I monitored the progress of my friend in the business and asked
 him how he was doing?

This was a week after the meeting, and he hadn't even opened
the $90.00 "business in a box" yet!

I asked him, why? He said he was going to get around to it.

Another week goes by, and I ask him again how the business was
going, and he asked me if I wanted the box, because he wasn't
 interested anymore.

I just looked at him stunned, and said "no thanks".

 I moved on...

 Three years later...

A friend of my Dad invites us to his home for what my Dad
thinks is just a friendly get together, and asks me to go with
 him. I said sure Dad.

It's a Thursday night (I think), and we get there around 7pm.
We walk in, and there are all these chairs in the living room,
and a chalk board set up.

I was thinking (here I am again, another opportunity meeting!)
My Dad was cool about it, but not too happy to be "taken" so to
speak. However, he went through the motions of the meeting, and
 that was that.

I, on the other hand, had the same old thoughts of major
possibility swirling even stronger this time in my brain, and I
just had to do it this time!

I had the funds, and my Dad wasn't going to stop me.

I joined his friend's downline, and went to work.

Boy was it work! I didn't know what I was getting into, but I
 thought I was ready.

I drew circles, I went to meetings, I set up meetings at my
parents home, (they left while this was happening).

I even had two people walk out right in the middle of my
sponsor drawing circles (they where co-workers at the time from
a Vons super market where I was working).

Oh, did I mention they were my only two prospects?

There I was, in my Sundays best suit, with my head down sitting
in a chair right up front in my parents' living room, dejected
 to say the least.

My sponsor (a mortgage banker from Dana Point Calif.) was
 speechless.

We briefly discussed what had happened, then he left.

I worked like this for over a year doing it almost full time
between work, and school. I could draw circles, and do the math
 in my sleep.

I retailed, I drew circles at meetings, I went to just about
every function (near and far) that Amway, and my sponsors had.

I even went all the way to Tulsa Oklahoma for a National Amway
meeting with my group (Winners Circle International) in an RV.
That one trip cost me over $200.00.

My sponsor had to pay for most of it, and I paid him back the
 balance when I could.

I had seen all the Diamonds, and Double Diamonds ( mostly
couples) on stage, and was wondering, "how in the heck did they
get so many people to join?"

Then it struck me. Most of them were very affluent in their
communities to begin with, and this helped them build a solid
foundation of marketers below them almost immediately.

 A FEW MONTHS LATER

I on the other hand had my upline (my Dad's friend, and others)
quit on me first! I was left out in the cold, and my closest
sponsor was unwilling to come out to support me with meetings.
 The guy from Dana Point.

I was 22 at the time. Who was going to listen to a 22 year old
talk about making a walk away income? My sponsor called me, and
sent me a postcard to encourage me, but I knew I was through.

I also knew this wouldn't be the last business I ventured into,
and I would just chalk this one up as experience.

So there you have it... the *TRUE* story of a wannabe
 Entrepreneur.

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Welcome to Oregon, a place of its own kind where the travelers
have no goal but to explore its never ending diversity. Oregon
first became the state of the US in the year 1859. It is also
known as the Beaver State due to the abundance of beaver
 population in the state.

It is also well known as the most diverse state in terms of the
landscapes in the United States. So much is the diversity that
you will find tall, dense forests; accessible, scenic Pacific
coastline; and rugged, glaciated Cascade volcanoes. Other areas
include semiarid scrublands, prairies, and deserts that cover
approximately half the state in eastern and north-central part
 of this region.

Oregon bordering the Pacific Ocean depends lot on it, in terms
of climate. They say it rains a lot in this part of the world
which is quite true. The rains not only add beauty to its lakes
and waterfalls but also keep he landscapes green throughout the
 year.

You can relish its diversity by hiking the mountains; following
trails in the jungle, driving endlessly through the captivating
roads, skiing on the snow clad Mt. Hood, walk on the beaches or
explore the majestic desert. There is always something to do in
here which keeps you planning all the time.

When you want to relax go on playing golf on the world class
golf course, cycle on designated bike lanes, take road trips to
the wine country, dine with the renowned restaurants in this
place or enjoy the brilliantly crafted scene of play at the
 Shakespeare Festival.

When you boost up the next morning you will again discover that
there is so much to see in here. Go through the pristine public
beaches, high-desert country, painted hills and wine-producing
valleys and explore its natural richness. Oregon is home to
North America's deepest river Gorge (Hells Canyon), the
country's deepest lake (Crater Lake) and the world's
 second-most-climbed mountain (Mt. Hood).

To explore such a diverse state takes quite a bit of advance
planning, and knowing ahead of time the best that the state has
to offer can make a visit much more enjoyable.

It is one of the places and experiences you won't want to miss.
There are a large number of hotels and lodges in this region
which you will find unified with the characteristic of this
diverse landscape. The hotels offer a warm welcome and a
pleasant staying experience and the best part is you can easily
find one which suits your budget.

With the increased traffic of visitors getting on the spot
reservations is difficult that is why it is recommended to make
prior reservations by visiting the hotels website or calling on
the helpline number of the hotel. The hotels, lodges and resorts
exhibit many facilities like air conditioning, room service,
rental cars, shuttle service, restaurants, pub area, spas,
health clubs and most of all a serene ambience to take you to
 the next level of fulfillment.

So whenever you need to break free of the daily ordeal, pack
your bags and take a plunge with Oregon. That is all for now.
 Bye and regards.

 Article Title: Makita 6410 Review

 ================== ARTICLE START ============ ======
Makita has a well-deserved reputation for building outstanding
quality power tools. Makita is one of the largest power tools
manufacturers in the world with a line of over 350 high quality
innovative tools. From impact wrenches and reciprocating saw to
tools as humble as a drill drivers and jigsaws. Many builders,
or tradesmen and they will all tell you that Makita make great
tools. However, we are here to find out if this is true.

As a trade professional, I use a drill more often and harder
than most. I personally know that for durability, reliability
and portability, Makita cannot be beat. However, I have only
ever used Makita's higher end machines. Last week I ordered a
Makita 6410 corded Rotary Drill. While I do acknowledge that
Cordless tools are the way forward. I wanted to see how well
Makita's lower end `budget' tools perform, hence the 6410.

The Makita 6410 has low weight, good power and good balance. I
set of to tive the little Makita a good test. Firstly I gave the
machine a good run for its money drilling some High Density
Fibre Board, performed much as I expected, seemed to work
 through the board with ease.

I then gave the Makita 6410 a try on a brick. Now I know its
not got hammer action. But a powerful drill should at least be
able to drill into a brick, with a little bit of effort. The
Makita did ok, but struggled greatly, cooking the bit a little.
So if you may be performing the occasional bit of masonry
drilling, treat yourself and buy a real hammer drill.

The trigger is very smooth and enables easy speed control. The
trigger lock machinery is in a very suitable location and allows
for easy one-handed locking. The recessed lock also keeps it
from getting in the way when changing had positions. The
high-speed motor allows for a wide variety of uses and aids in
drilling through steel and high tensile substances. This is also
an added bonus when using the drill for no-so traditional uses
such as with wire brushes for stripping or 4" buffing cloths for
polishing. With other drills, the speed was just too slow to
 perform the task.

The Drill is an excellent piece of machinery for the money.
However I would hesitate to recommend one. Personally I'm that
used to High end machines, I found that the Makita 6410 just
didn't really have the power too perform as well as I hoped. I
think if you will be using this drill often and frequently if
would soon wear down the bearings.

I think the 6410 is a great DIY tool but I would not go any
father than that. If you are a tradesman or a professional,
stick to Makita's higher end specialist equipment, like its new
 lithium range.

In summary I would have to say that the Makita 6410 Drill is a
great little machine. It would probably make a good emergency
drill for the tradesman, or an excellent high quality drill for
the avid DIY'er, However, if you intend drill any brick work
save yourself a lot of effort and look a buying a hammer drill.
