Polar Bear Cubs - The Start of A Polar Bear's Life
Polar bear cubs start their lives as cute and cuddly
youngsters.

This is in stark contrast to the majestic kings of the
Arctic they will become if they survive to maturity.

Female polar bears have their first set of cubs between the
ages of four and eight (usually at age five or six).
Females in the Low Arctic wean their cubs as they approach
their second birthday, while those in the High Arctic,
where conditions are more a lot more harsh and demanding,
care for their cubs an additional year

Polar bear cubs are most often born in pairs, but sometimes
the litter contains three cubs and possibly only one cub.
They're born between November through January in a den.
These snow dens are known as "maternity dens" and are made
to protect the newborn cubs from the freezing Arctic
temperature extremes.

At birth, the cubs are 30 to 35 centimeters (12 to 14
inches) in length and weigh a little more than half a
kilogram (about a pound) . Having no senses, during their
first few vulnerable weeks of life, they nurse most of the
time and stay as close as possible to their mother to keep
themselves warm. The female has special crevices within
which the cubs can get the warmth they need to survive.

Polar bear cubs are born small and helpless, with their
eyes closed and their fur is very fine at birth, making the
cubs look hairless. They get their first glimpses of their
mothers after they open their eyes sometime during the
first month.

The cubs grow very quickly while they're in the den, thanks
to the calories in their mother's rich milk, which has a
fat content of roughly 31% . Cubs often lie on there
mothers belly to nurse while their mother sits back and
puts her head back and seems to slightly move back and
forth as if to rock the cubs. The cubs begin walking
inside the den at roughly two months. During this time, the
cubs still spend about 85% of their time in the den,
sleeping there at night.

When she finally emerges with her cubs, most often in late
March or April, she leads them to the sea ice so she can
break her long fast by hunting seals. Cubs begin eating
solid food at this time which is at approximately three to
four months of age.

The cubs usually stay with their mother until they're 2 1/2
years old, although some bears in the Hudson Bay area wean
their young at age 1 1/2 . When the cubs reach a point
where they have suitable strength and coordination, and
when they are able to walk well and respond to their
mother's motion and sound commands such as stay or come,
they are ready to leave their mother and the den.

During the time that the cubs are with their mother, they
must learn how to hunt and survive in one of the Earth's
harshest environments by watching their mother. A mother
bear's success at hunting seals directly influences their
well-being and determines whether or not the cubs will live
or die once they are on their own. A mother will sometimes
carry her cubs on her back through areas of deep snow or
water if conditions are too hazardous for the youngster.

Once the cubs are weaned, either the mother bear or the
male chases the cubs away so that they can begin life on
their own.

Polar Bear Cubs and Environmental Issues

As you can see, Polar bear cubs are very vulnerable during
their first few months. This period is the time during
which most of the deaths from global warming and pollution
take place.

Mother bears are feeding on polluted fish and seals. The
pollution is stored in their massive body fat and when they
have their offspring, they pass the pollution on to the
young via there high-fat mother's milk. Often their cub's
immune systems are too weak to fend off the toxins and the
resulting complications, so they die.

Global climate change is shortening the time that bears
have to breed and this means that they put off having their
children until too far into the season. So, fewer bears are
being born.

This double whammy is causing Polar bear populations to
decrease dramatically.

One study estimated that only 43 percent of polar bear cubs
in the southern Beaufort Sea survived their first year
during the year 2000, compared to a 65 percent survival
rate in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Clearly, something must be done to maintain polar bear
reproduction at a rate that ensures the survival of the
species.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Before you start planning your wedding, you should sit down
with everyone involved with the financial aspects. Set a budget
rich enough to give you what you want but affordable enough to
not break the bank.

If you don't have a budget set from the start, you'll have a
difficult time holding on to your money. It's easy to spend an
extra hundred here and an extra hundred there. If you limit your
spending, you'll be less tempted to spend and more able to focus
on what you want and need more wisely.

Here are some pointers for creating an affordable wedding
budget.

Who's Paying?

Traditionally, the bride's parents were in charge of paying for
the wedding. Times have changed quite a bit, though. While the
bride's parents sometimes still pay for the wedding, it is just
as likely to see the couple pay for their own ceremony or have
financial help from parents on both sides.

If you aren't able to pay for the wedding yourself, then sit
down to have a serious discussion about what is going to work.
Depending on your financial situation, you might assume family
will help pay for the wedding, but even if you're positive of
that, show your family the courtesy of asking if they'll pitch
in.

The average wedding costs over $20,000 these days, and it might
be intimidating to ask for such a large amount of money. You
might want to prepare a plan that details how much you'd be
willing to chip in, what your budget is, and what type of help
you'll need or the specific expenses you'd like your family to
pitch in for.

Sometimes parents contribute a certain amount of money or offer
to pay for certain items such as the wedding dress, the
catering, or the entertainment. Look into splitting the budget
up as much as possible to have everyone willing to contribute
put in an equal amount towards the event.

Setting Your Budget

The budget always depends on the amount of guests that you're
inviting to the wedding. A general rule of thumb is that you
should prepare to pay $100 for every guest on the invitation
list. If you're having a large amount of guests, you may receive
a discount per head as opposed to paying full price per person
for smaller weddings.

Taking Care of the Basics

You shouldn't just make a wild guess at how much you're willing
to spend on your wedding. Instead, set the approximate amount of
budgeted dollars per guest and then put together a list of
everything you'll need to buy with that money.

By creating a detailed financial plan, you'll know how much you
can spend on every aspect of the wedding: catering, decorations,
transportation, dresses, photography, etc.

You might want to splurge in one area and you may find that
with a detailed plan, you can easily save some money in another
area of your wedding. By finding out what's important to you and
planning things carefully, you'll give yourself a better chance
of staying within your financial means.

Look around or ask friends that have been married before what
expenses they had and what costs their wedding day incurred.
Sometimes you'll realize that your numbers aren't very realistic
compared to what people who have gone before you have spent.
It's better to find out in the planning stages than when you're
actually heading off to make your purchases.

Prioritize

When you make detailed plans, prioritize what's most important
to you. Make sure to communicate with your partner so that you
both end up getting what you want instead of feeling ripped off
or resentful. Rate every item's priority on a scale of 1-5, with
"1" being your top priority and "5" being one of the least
important items. This helps prioritize wants versus needs and
helps you stay on track with your budget.

Ways to Save Money

There are always tricks to saving money on your wedding
package. Sometimes you can find places that offer catering,
decorations, and a reception room for a low price when bundled
together. Other times you'll find a photographer that also
offers videography for a discounted rate. By finding bulk deals
or making connections, you'll be able to minimize excess costs.

You'll also want to find out if you have any friends or family
members willing to help out for free. Sometimes you might know a
person capable of doing all your photography as a wedding gift
or you might know somebody willing to volunteer as a decorator.

There are many ways that you can save money, but most of the
trick in cutting costs is thinking creatively and resourcefully.
By finding out what is most important for your wedding, you'll
be able to spend money on what matters and save on things that
are less important.

Stick to It

Once you've set a budget, stick to it no matter what. Don't
plan to be frugal from the start – be realistic. Instead of
trying to spend too little and create problems when you
overspend because of true cost, you should plan for costs as
truthfully as possible. It's no fun having financial pressures
because you didn't spend enough time planning properly.
Overshooting the budget not only causes arguments in the couple,
but it is also a sign of poor choices.

While it's true that this is your only wedding, it's not true
that you have an unlimited amount of money available to blow on
the event. It's easy to upgrade items for a couple of hundred
dollars, and some vendors will push you to do so. But if you
take every vendor's advice and don't follow your budget, you'll
never find your available money to be enough.

Don't stress over your purchases. Instead, spend what feels
comfortable and that is within your means. Have fun finding the
pleasure in the ceremony and not in the extra (and expensive)
trimmings.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
You have discovered that ending your relationship with your
love handles is harder than finding help in a box store. Your
efforts at diet and exercise have not gotten rid of stubborn
fatty bulges, and the loose skin from multiple pregnancies or
weight loss simply hangs and hangs. For a smoother and shapelier
torso your remaining option is the tummy tuck, also know as
abdominoplasty.

With a tummy tuck, excess skin and fat are removed surgically
from the abdominal region and the underlying muscles are
tightened to create a slimmer and smoother contour. The
procedure also better defines the waist. This plastic surgery
procedure is a major surgery and does require some recovery.
Like any plastic surgery, not everyone is a candidate, but if
you are considering a tummy tuck, consider these facts about
this common cosmetic procedure.

Your physical condition determines whether you are a suitable
candidate for a tummy tuck. Ideally, men or women who are in
reasonably good physical condition make the best candidates for
the removal of excess fat bulges and loose skin, especially if
they have already tried to get rid of it with diet and exercise.

If your excess skin and fat is mostly concentrated below the
belly button, you may be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck. In
this procedure, there is a shorter incision and the belly button
is not moved. There is also a shorter recovery from a mini tummy
tuck than from a standard or full tummy tuck.

Because a tummy tuck is a surgery that requires a long
incision, you will be left with a scar. To reduce this negative
consequence, we place the scar in the lower abdomen that will
typically be covered by underwear and bathing suits. And, with
proper healing, the scar often becomes very faint.

Smoking interferes with recovering from surgery and increases
the risks of complications following a tummy tuck. If you are a
smoker, you will have to face quitting smoking two weeks before
your surgery and during your recovery. Permanently quitting
would certainly be best for many reasons.

You should be aware that liposuction may be used in conjunction
with your tummy tuck. Indeed, liposuction might be all that is
needed to achieve the desired result on your abdomen. Be open to
the possibility that you may only need the less invasive
procedure of liposuction. When you meet your plastic surgeon, he
or she will examine you and help determine the best option.

When you visit your Beverly Hills plastic surgeon for a
consultation about a tummy tuck, be candid about your
body-shaping goals. Your surgeon will be evaluating the skin and
fat deposits of your body along with your expectations about
results. Then, your surgeon will discuss with you what can be
realistically achieved with a tummy tuck.

The results of a tummy tuck can be very long lasting if you eat
sensibly and stay active. If you overeat and gain weight
excessively, then your skin and tissues will be forced to
stretch out into new bulges.

A final thought for you to consider about tummy tucks is that
nothing is standard with plastic surgery. Each body is unique
with its own shape and underlying physical attributes. A plastic
surgeon must assess each person individually and perform a tummy
tuck that is suited to each body. If you get a tummy tuck, it
will be the tummy tuck for your body and it will not necessarily
look like the tummy of another person who also had the
procedure.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
There are many ways that you can advertise your home business
in such a way that allows you to maximize your potential and
work with the amounts of money that you do have to allow
yourself to actually get the most out of your advertising.

First of all, it is important to remember that you are a small
business in your home, which is operating under conditions that
are much different than the larger businesses that are out
there. However, you also have to contend with and compete with
the various businesses that are out there, and you have to do so
in a way that is going to benefit you and allow you to compete
in the global market. Therefore, there are several things that
you can do to ensure that this isn't going to be a problem for
you.

First of all, the most important thing is that you truly
understand your business and what it is there for. You want to
be sure that your own goals and aspirations are perfectly clear
and in synch with what your business is really about. It is
important that you are able to make sure you get the most out of
your business and that through this type of venture you can be
sure to make some money in order to live your life. Therefore,
understanding your business is a very important thing to do, and
making sure that you are able to understand everything about
your business is something important as well.

Next, you want to be sure that you have a business plan which
helps you see who your customers truly are. You have to be able
to understand the people that you want to reach, and when you
start out with a small business it is best to try to reach your
exact clientele group. Don't spend money advertising for
everyone, because you want to be sure that you are able to reach
that exact group of people that will become your customers. When
you are starting out you do not want to waste a single moment or
cent on advertising that is not going to go directly to the
places that you need it to go. You want to be sure that you are
able to understand who you want your clients to be, and then
structure advertising to go directly towards them. This is the
most important tool that you have in advertising.

Remember, as well, there are lots of places to get free
advertising. Especially when you are working with advertising
online, there are lots of places that you can plug your website
or give your company name. You might want to spend a few hours
each day just going to these websites and getting your
information out there. This might be the best way that you have
to make sure that you are advertising can actually take place in
the way that you need it to take places. If you are able to do
this, you will find yourself quite successful.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Maybe this is your third speeding ticket this month, and your
driver's license is about two points away from being revoked or
you have been in your fifth accident in five years (only two of
those were actually judged to be your fault). Whatever your
driving history is, you may need to evaluate your car insurance
again, and find out whether or not there are other options for
you.

The problem with being a bad driver (or just an unlucky driver)
is that if you lose your driver's license, your car insurance
company is probably going to drop your coverage. If you get
dropped, and then get your license back after a while, you are
going to find out that it is difficult to find cheap car
insurance. You can get as many car insurance quotes as you want;
you are going to end up paying a lot of money for insurance.

So how do you find a good car insurance if you aren't too
reliable of a driver? The best bet is to talk to several agents
in person, and see what they can do for you. Sometimes, you may
be able to take defensive driving courses or even the entire
driver's education course again in order to get a discount or
reduce the number of points on your license. Any little bit
helps, and you may find out that the money that you save monthly
by taking a weekend course on driving from your car insurance
company is going to save you money in just a couple of months
(and maybe even make you a better driver).

No one wants to admit that they are a bad driver, or that they
were at fault, but the key to getting cheap car insurance is to
sometimes admit that you are not the world's best driver. A lot
of times, you can plead "guilty" to an offense and get reduced
fines and penalties rather than pleading "innocent", going
through the whole legal procedures and then getting the full
fines.

When filling out the paperwork to get a cheap car insurance
quote, make sure that you tell the truth. Before the policy is
issued, they are going to take a look at your driving record,
and lying about how many accidents you have been in is going to
just cause you trouble with the car insurance company.

The final tip to finding the best car insurance if you are a
not-so-great driver is to get quotes from all sorts of car
insurance agencies. You may think that you are stuck with car
insurance from those who deal with high-risk drivers, but you
may just be able to get a normal company to cover you. If you
can get regular car insurance, you may be limited in options
initially, but after awhile you should be able to find a cheap
car insurance option.

Car insurance is one of those evils that we have to buy. Those
who can't get any car insurance at all are either a menace on
the road or doomed to taking the bus. Driving safely and keeping
your eyes on the road will eventually pay off by having cheaper
car insurance.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Many people find that working from home is something that they
can do in order to make themselves even more successful.
However, if you are working from home you probably know that it
is easy to slack off or to sleep in, and it might be easy to not
get as much done as you should, simply because you have the
freedom to work whenever you want to work. While some find that
working at home makes them more productive, some find that the
opposite is true and that without the schedule that forces them
to be at work, they are unable to get things done easily. There
are a few things that you can do to make sure that you are able
to be productive and still be able to have the freedom of
working from home.

First of all, you should set a work schedule. Because you work
from home, this can be any type of schedule that you need. You
can work mornings or afternoons or even nights. However, you
should be sure that you set a schedule and keep to it. This will
mean that your clients will know when to reach you, your family
will know when you are working and when you are not, and you
will be able to fit everything into your schedule .The best part
about working from home is that you are going to be able to
decide when you want to work and when you do not want to work.
Therefore, be sure that you set the schedule for times that you
do want to work.

Next, even though you are working from home you should be going
somewhere while you are work. Don't set up your laptop in front
of your TV and think that you will get anything done while you
are working from home. Set up a desk or even a tray table
somewhere that can be your home office. Remember that you don't'
always need an actual office for your home office – you can
simply use an area that is only for your work. If you have a
place to go that is the place you only go when you are working,
you'll find that you are able to get much more done.

If you are able to have set work hours and to actually go
somewhere else for your work, you will find that you are much
more productive. There are other things that you can do as well.
Get dressed for work, even if you aren't going to work. Spend
some time making sure that you feel like you are getting ready
for work, so that while you are working you will feel as if you
are doing more than just hanging out at home. If you are trying
to run a household or take care of children as well, be sure
that you schedule things in such a way so that your work time
does not overlap with this time, either. You will be much more
productive.

"Lost in Translation" Makes the Meaning of Life Sound Elusive
Copyright © 2007 Ed Bagley

Lost in Translation ' 2 Stars (Average)

"Lost in Translation" was written and directed by Sofia
Coppola and won enough awards to fill a grocery cart.

The independent film earned Sofia Coppola an Oscar for Best
Original Screenplay and also had 2003 Oscar nominations for
Best Picture (won by "The Lord of the Rings, the Return of
the King", bad timing for Sofia), Best Director (won by
Peter Jackson for Lord of the Rings) and Bill Murray as
Best Actor (won by Sean Penn in "Mystic River").

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the
Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" lost the same
nomination as Murray. I would have voted for Johnny Depp
as Best Actor rather than Sean Penn.

Sofia Coppola's creation also won Golden Globe awards for
Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Bill Murray),
and earned nominations for Best Director and Best Actress
(Scarlett Johansson).

The Oscar win was among 70 wins and 58 more nominations.
To say Sofia Coppola's creation was lauded by the critics
would be a huge understatement.

Seeing this film, I would not have guessed it would have
won so many awards.

Sofia Coppola wrote the lead role specifically for Bill
Murray, and later said that if Murray turned it down, she
would have scrapped the project.

She was nothing if not persistent in recruiting Murray for
the role. In 1999, Murray apparently replaced his talent
agency with a voice mailbox and an 800 number he gives out
sparingly.

Coppola reportedly left hundreds of messages before Murray
finally called back to discuss her offer to cast him as the
star. Coppola apparently knows something about selecting
actors who win awards.

Lost in Translation follows Bob Harris (Bill Murray), a
fading American film actor with a humdrum marriage, who is
in Tokyo to do a Japanese whiskey commercial. He meets
Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson), a recently college graduate
in philosophy and the bored wife of a photographer doing a
shoot in Tokyo.

They develop an unlikely friendship when the language
barrier, Japanese culture and their own discontent
surfaces. When it is time for them to resume their normal
lives, leaving becomes difficult.

I give Sofia Coppola a lot of credit for not writing into
the script a sexual relationship between the two. In
Hollywood this would be like taking the financier's money
and not worshipping at his or her feet.

Coppola had it her way because this independent film cost
only $4 million to make, was filmed in 27 days and grossed
$44.5 million at last count.

The opening of the film has a lingering shot of Scarlett
Johansson (as Charlotte) lying in bed sideways in her
panties. Johansson was apparently reluctant to film the
shot until Sofia Coppola modeled the panties herself.

Thankfully, this opening was not a precursor to the film,
which sought to explore a more important issue: the meaning
of life. As two unhappy individuals in their roles, both
Murray and Johansson struggle to find real meaning in their
current circumstances.

What happens in their exploration is really nothing
special. As a viewer I was waiting to see where their
relationship was going because they came to no conclusions
together, or on their own.

Therein is why I gave this film an average rating rather
than a good or excellent rating. I wanted real substance
in this film that I could relate to in my everyday life,
and I was left wanting.

How odd is it that Bob and Charlotte never introduce
themselves to each other despite spending days together
contemplating their mutual miserable situations? This
makes no sense to me whatsoever, and does not ring true in
real life.

Despite winning an Oscar for her original screenplay, Sofia
Coppola does not give the substance I expect. Hollywood
pours out awards for her effort, and to me it only reflects
why Hollywood is called Tinseltown, all show, confusion and
stress without real substance.

Ultimately, both characters are seeking meaning in their
lives.

One viewer wrote this about the film, "Overall the film is
just perfect. The acting, the direction, the soundtrack,
plot, themes, humor, visuals . . . what's not to like?"

What's not to like is this: People who seek true love
seldom find it. People who seek the perfect mate never
find the perfect mate. People who seek to find the true
meaning of life seldom find it.

The reason is simple: you do not bring meaning to your life
by seeking meaning in your life, you bring meaning to your
life by giving meaning to your life. Life does not come to
you, you come to life, or you become an unhappy,
dissatisfied person.

When we blame others we give up our ability to change.

Lost in Translation has some great scenes of Tokyo, but
like pictures in a photo album, they only reflect the
meaning you bring to them.

Would you like to obtain a loan that is truly hassle free?
Many loans today require that you secure them with something and
if you don't own a home you may not have anything to secure a
loan with. Personal loans are the hassle free loans, that is,
they are not secured loans. You can simply apply for the loan,
provide your personal information, and either be approved or
not. No need to bring your home into the process.

Securing a Loan without a Home

If you need a loan but you haven't applied for one because you
assume that you need a home to get one, you are wrong. In fact,
there are personal loans out there that are perfect for those
that do not own a home. Many people who do have homes never
consider personal loans because there are many loans that they
can take advantage of because they do own. When you do not have
anything that you can secure a loan with that doesn't mean you
are out of luck, it just means that you need to look at personal
loans.

Personal loans are not secured loans; they are general use
loans that anyone can apply for. When you apply for these loans
you will need to provide information such as your social
security or taxpayer identification number, your home address,
your bank account information, pay stubs, and any information on
other debts that you have.

Your bank or lender will use this information to run a credit
check and look at your debt to income ratio. Basically, the
lender wants to make sure that you can afford the loan and that
you have the means to pay it back. In addition, they want to
make sure that you have a history of repaying your debts.

Because a personal loan is not secured you should know that
they are not handed out to everyone who applies. You should
have decent credit if you apply for one of these loans and
expect to be approved. You will also want to have a stable job
and be willing to pay a bit more in interest than you might if
you sought out a secured loan such as a home equity loan.

The interest rate is usually not much higher, but you may find
that they are a couple points higher and this is just the way
the lender balances the risk. Remember, this is business for
the lender and they need to make sure that they are going to get
their money back.

Personal loans are a great option if you need money to
consolidate debt, pay for medical bills, pay for car repair,
repair the home, go on a vacation, or even go to school. Again,
these are general use loans that come in handy in a multitude of
situations. The great thing is that these loans can often be
funded in as little as 24 hours, so you will be ready to go
shortly after applying for the loan.

About The Author: By their very nature, personal loans at
http://www.comparethem.co.uk/loans/personal-loans/ tend to be
unsecured. Homeowners, could look at secured loans at
http://www.comparethem.co.uk/loans/secured-loans/ as a great
option. All this and more at http://www.comparethem.co.uk/

What Constitutes an Attack

In the Martial Arts you hear and read about people who have
used their Martial Art to physically defend themselves in a real
situation. Often the defender could very easily have avoided the
entire situation but instead due to any number of circumstances
they ended up in a fight instead. I recently read an article by
Nev Sagiba related to this topic and decided to add my 2 cents
worth.

First of all, a physical attack is actually implemented when
someone is actually closing the distance towards you or those
you care about (or are in some way responsible for) and they are
on their way to strike, stab, grab, beat or otherwise
immediately hurt them or you Right NOW! For this to actually be
a physical attack they also must be close enough that within
seconds they can actually begin contact and the physical aspect
of the attack is imminent.

A person who throws their fists up and threatens to beat you up
is verbally attacking and physically posturing but not yet
physically attacking. A person who is upset and yelling is upset
or/and threatening and posturing is verbally attacking but not
yet physically attacking. A person swearing at you is verbally
attacking and posturing but not yet physically attacking. A
person who is busting things in the room or kicking your car is
posturing and attacking things but is not yet physically
attacking you. You get the idea.

When I began learning martial arts a lot of what I learned
taught a person how to engage in a fight. Fortunately for me my
instructor was also very street-wise and taught me as much about
street fighting as he did about the arts. Part of his training
included the idea of getting out of there and using any unfair
advantage you could get to win a serious physical confrontation.
I also found that when I was threatened with a fist fight that I
did not just jump in there swinging away like a mad man but that
instead I had a tendency to utilize positioning and verbal
skills to try to deter my would be attacker. Due to attacks,
that I personally experienced, I also found that when I needed
to defend myself that techniques that would allow me to quickly
end a physical confrontation and get out of there were much more
important to me than being able to exchange a lot of punches and
kicks. This was partially due to the fact that even in school
yard fist fights the average fight involved multiple attackers
and if I got tangled up with someone the next thing I knew their
buddies were also all over me. My findings and understanding of
what happens in real situations eventually led me to Pentjak
Silat, Kun Tao and Kun Tao Silat as the arts that I needed to
deal with the harsh realities of surviving street encounters.

When a person attacks you verbally (yelling and threatening) or
non-verbally (such as waving their fists) then a response of
some kind is still called for. Generally speaking the response
is fairly simple. Either work to help end and bring an
acceptable solution/conclusion to the problem or simply remove
yourself from the situation by running or driving away.

A Luxury Weekend Break to Marrakesh has the real sound of
romance and mystery to it, and it is easily possible to find and
book a romantic getaway package to a new Riad in Marrakesh
called the Riad Noir D'Ivoire.

The luxury weekend break will start at the airport where you
will be met, and driven the fifteen minutes to the Medina, and
then it is a ten minute walk, and the sights and sounds of
Marrakesh will overwhelm you immediately.

Situated in the north east section of the Medina in Marrakesh
this is a real escape from 21st century life, and a blessed cool
relief after the pressures of tourist days in the Medina where
you can be pursued for what seems like hours on end!

Beautifully decorated, and each with its own feel, there are
six rooms of which two are suites, although the double rooms are
pretty amazing themselves.

One of the features of all the rooms are how comfortable are
the beds, so comfortable guests have been known to sleep through
the early morning call to prayer, which in the Medina is very
loud indeed.

If you can book it, get the Elephant Suite, which has a small
balcony overlooking the courtyard, a huge fireplace, and a round
beaten silver bath tub, and a monsoon shower. You will find
mineral water and dried apricots and roasted almonds in your
room or suite, with sunhats and a straw basket for goodies
shopping in the Medina.

The Riad Noir D'Ivoire is centred around a courtyard with a
small plunge pool, and palm trees with huge leaves at each
corner, and one side is the bar, and the other the restaurant.
At one end is a boutique and at the other end a comfortable
lounge or more accurately a Salon with comfortable sofas, an
extensive library, and in the winter a roaring log fire.

You eat breakfast on the roof terrace where there are a mass of
potted plants and sun loungers.

The staff are brilliant with that well trained ability to
appear just when needed and disappear completely at other times,
but somehow reappearing just when you think you might want them
again. This type of behaviour is so important when you are on a
romantic weekend package, and you don't want to be disturbed but
equally you want service, and here the Riad Noir D'Ivoire is
fantastic.

The food is just right, and lacked for nothing, they seemed to
know intuitively exactly what you are going to need after an
exhausting day sightseeing. The dishes are local with a European
edge – just right.

A great help before you get lost in the medina is the owners
give you a local mobile phone with her number and that of the
riad programmed in, so that when you get lost in the labyrinth
of alleyways, you can be rescued with directions. You will need
this otherwise your luxury weekend break to Marrakesh could turn
into the stuff of nightmares.

For a Luxury weekend romantic getaway package style break there
is no doubt that the Riad Noir D'Ivoire in Marrakesh rings all
the right bells

A Caribbean Vacation to the Dominican Republic is something
that many many people do every year. What is stopping you from
taking a Dominican Republic Vacation Package this year?

It is most likely because you don't know what a vacation to the
Dominican republic would be like.

You probably don't know that the Dominican republic at 18750
square miles is one of the largest islands in the Caribbean.
This only means that you need to do some research because on an
island the size of the Dominican Republic has parts you will
like a lot, and others that you won't.

As an example the south east corner is the agricultural side
and it has an exciting high quality night life. On the other
hand the southwest part of the island is more arid, less crowded
and more desert like. Research is important otherwise your
Caribbean Vacation to the Dominican Republic could end up a
major disappointment because you end up on a part of the island
not to your taste.

Some of the top destinations for a Dominican Republic Vacation
and ones that perhaps need deeper investigation could be the
following.
.
Cabarete on the north coast is the place to go if you are
young, it is a fun place to be with good water sports, is
considered by many to be one of the top places in the world for
windsurfing and kiteboarding. It is also a great place to surf,
mountain biking, horseriding, canyoning, and lots of other
adventure sports.

Sosua on the north coast has a beautiful sheltered beach with
white sand, and clear turquoise sea. This is the place if you
want to go snorkelling and scuba diving, and there are good
restaurants.

Playa Dorada is a gated resort community and is where most of
the All Inclusive Hotels are found and is on the north coast.
You can do almost anything in the way of recreation here, from
golf courses to casinos, , and there is a long white sand beach,
but get out of the community and there is a lot of things to see
and do.

The Playa Grande Cabrera area has spectacular unspoiled white
sand beaches and some exclusive villas. Playa Grande beach is
one of the best ten beaches in the world, and there is a
beautiful golf course here.

Las Terrenas is on the Samana Peninsula in the northeast, with
a beautiful white sand beach and calm sea. This has a
Mediterranean feel to it, and is a very relaxing place through
the mountains.

Las Galeras also on the Samana Peninsula is a remote spot with
boutique hotels, hidden beaches and is a real romantic getaway.

Punta Cana on the east coast is totally Caribbean postcard, and
some good all inclusive hotels.

Bayahibe on the south coast has a really tranquil setting, a
great beach, and the not to be missed National Park

La Romana also on the south coast includes the 7000 acre Casa
de Campo with two golf courses and some very exclusive villas.
The word luxury springs to mind here.

Juan Dolio on the south coast is the Dominican Republic's
Riviera

Boca Chica also on the south coast is a place with smaller
hotels, where you are much closer to local life, and there is
good diving here.

Finally Santo Domingo which is the sophisticated and cultural
Capital of the Dominican Republic.

Further investigation by you of these area of the Dominican
Republic will enable you to decide on, and then plan for the
perfect Caribbean vacation to the Dominican Republic

One of the biggest ways in which you can make savings for
insurance is if you go online. Purchasing your car insurance
online can save you money and time if you choose to go with a
broker. A specialist will be able to scour the motor insurance
market place for the cheapest premiums based on your individual
circumstances.

Car insurance premiums will be based on many considerations.
There is no set rate but rather the cost will be defined by
factors such as your age and the car you drive. Other factors
such as where you choose to park it and how much no claims bonus
you have will also be taken into account. The level of insurance
you want will also go towards determining how much car insurance
online will cost. Even your postcode can affect the premium!

A broker will take the information you give them after asking a
few questions and will then look around for you to make sure
that you have some quotes to compare. They are able to deliver
them quickly and you can then take the time to go through them
and compare for the best. You do have to remember to also
compare the terms and conditions of any quote the broker finds.
While the cover might seem cheap the terms and conditions could
add extra costs. For example there might be something
automatically covered in a policy costing a little more than a
cheaper policy would ask an added fee for.

There are many ways in which you can help to keep the cost down
when buying car insurance. Even before you purchase your new car
some thought should be given as to how much the insurance would
cost. While a flashy sporty model might do a lot for your image
it could damage your pocket considerably. This is especially so
if you are a younger driver. Younger drivers, female drivers and
drivers of certain age groups should all take advantage of those
lenders who aim insurance particularly at them and offer it
cheaper. A broker will pick up on these and match them to your
circumstances which means you save.

Your safety record will go a long way to earning you the
cheapest car insurance online. A good no claims bonus will go a
long way to keeping the premiums down. However if you have yet
to earn no claims bonus then you can make amends by taking
advanced driving lessons. You can also keep the cost down by
installing such features as car alarms, having windows etched,
putting in a tracking device and keeping your car in a garage
overnight.

Once a broker has found you the cheapest car insurance online
then make sure you go over the terms and conditions that are
attached. These will come as the key facts and be attached to
the quotes. It is imperative that you take the time to compare
them as this will tell you what is and is not covered. It will
also state how much the insurance will cost and can differ
greatly between quotes.

The Sagarin College Football Ratings: What They Are, How to Read Them and What to Do With Them
Copyright © 2007 Ed Bagley

While betting on sports is only legal in a few places in
the United States, such as Las Vegas, millions of office
workers are involved in sports pools every week now that
the football season has arrived.

When you know that more than $700 million can be bet on one
game—the Super Bowl—in only Las Vegas, then you
understand that billions were bet illegally on the Super
Bowl last year in the United States and in offshore sports
books around the world.

Folks in the gaming business know that more than a billion
dollars is wagered on every Monday Night Football game
during the season.

For those who wager, it may be helpful to put some science
on your side when you wager, and one of the best places to
do that is with the Sagarin College Football Ratings.

Created by Jeff Sagarin, a 1970 MIT mathematics graduate,
these computer ratings are for Division I-A (what the NCAA
now calls the Football Bowl (FB) Subdivision) and Division
I-AA (what the NCAA now calls the Football Championship
(FC) Subdivision) teams.

You will have to forgive the NCAA for taking titles that
have been used for years and are perfectly clear, then
renaming them and creating confusion in the process.

If there is a way for the NCAA to assert its superior
power, it does so by making everything more difficult and
confusing, similar to your United States government and its
IRS tax code which could reduce a sane person to tears just
reading it.

Anyway, the Sagarin rating is a numerical measure of a
team's strength.

A hypothetical victory margin is determined by comparing
the rating of the two teams after adding 2.93 points to the
home team. The home edge will vary during the season.

Only Division I (both A and AA) are counted for rating and
schedule strength during the season.

A diminishing-returns principle exists to prevent teams
from building up ratings by running up large victory
margins against weak teams. Instead, it rewards teams that
do well against good opponents.

The BCS (Bowl Championship Series) does not factor in
scoring margin. For Sagarin ratings and more detailed
information go to: www.usatoday.com

USA Today, the largest circulation newspaper in the United
States, is the nation's daily newspaper and carries the
Sagarin College Football Ratings. The ratings are updated
following each week's games and published in USA Today on
Wednesdays.

Following the first week of college football action, here
are some facts that interested me about Sagarin's
first-week ratings:

1) Washington, one of the poor to mediocre teams in the
country the last several years, was rated No. 31 after
hammering Syracuse 42-14 in its home opener.

2) Michigan State, another short end of the stick team for
far too long, was rated No. 36 after steamrolling over UAB
55-18 in its home opener.

3) Appalachian State, a AA school, was rated No. 38
following its upset of mighty Michigan 34-32 on Michigan's
home field. The win was the biggest upset in college
football history as no AA team had ever beaten a ranked
team.

Michigan was ranked No. 5 by both the AP Poll and Coaches
Poll going into the game. Following its horrendous loss,
Michigan ended up being ranked No. 40 by Sagarin.

4) Wyoming, a small school and never among the nation's
top teams, was ranked No. 41 by Sagarin following its 23-3
home victory over Virginia.

5) Notre Dame, beaten badly (33-3) by Georgia Tech, was
rated No. 57 after the loss. Georgia Tech was rated No. 2.
The Irish failed to score a touchdown for the first time
ever in their home opener.

6) Temple (ranked No. 143 after its opening loss) and
Buffalo (ranked No. 145 after its opening loss) face off in
week two. Both teams are among the 7 worst Division I-A
teams in the country, joining Louisiana-Monroe, Rice, Duke,
Utah State and Florida International.

7) A total of 242 teams, 119 A schools and 123 AA schools,
make up the Sagarin College Football Ratings. The
worst-rated A school is Florida International at No. 174
(56 AA teams are rated better), and their play reflects
their rating. The worst-rated AA school is the No. 242 La
Salle Explorers. La Salle is a Catholic university located
in Philadelphia.

La Salle lost its home opener to Ursinus 28-0. Ursinus is
not a planet but a real liberal arts college in
Pennsylvania.

Ursinus College is not a Division 1 school (which includes
the 242 teams with La Salle), not a Division II team (which
includes another 157 teams), but a Division III team. Now
you can better understand why La Salle College is ranked
last among 242 Division I schools.

The first job for La Salle this year will be to score a
touchdown, or any points, including a field goal or
touchback. The Explorers next job will be to actually win
a game. Good luck, La Salle, and God speed.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
In Hollywood's infancy, filmmakers used real money in their
productions, only to run into legal and administrative problems
such as workers stealing the money. At the time, very strict
laws prohibited the filmmakers from copying, photographing or
imitating American currency in any way. This presented Hollywood
with a very tricky problem. Always resourceful, filmmakers found
a way around it.

At the time, there happened to be large amounts of devalued
currency printed by the Confederates during the American Civil
War and Mexican Money printed during the Mexican Revolution.
Both failed governments had issued a lot of money, hoping the
volume would help stave off the money's declining values. Of
course, they failed and the money was useless until Hollywood
bought up caches of both types of cash, and the first Hollywood
prop money was created.

Over time, the Confederate and Mexican folding money wore out,
and most of it was thrown away or lost. By then, laws governing
the reproduction of fake currency had loosened somewhat.
Prop-making manufacturers began to print false money.

Much of this early fake money is now available via specialty
Hollywood memorabilia stores. The makers of this money often
copied Mexican and Confederate designs and used deliberate
misspellings like "Steats of Amreica" to be sure the money could
not be passed off as real. Many of these designs are interesting
and very beautiful to look at. Though the designers were making
obvious fake money, they took the time to make it look great.

In more recent history, laws loosened even more and the stacks
of prop dollars being printed by manufacturers became even more
convincing. There have been several incidents where the Secret
Service (which oversees American currency and stings
counterfeiters) has stepped in and confiscated Hollywood prop
money, and forced companies to discontinue printing it.

In one notable case, bills with a total face value close to $1
Billion was blown up during the filming of "Rush Hour 2" in Las
Vegas. A significant amount of the fake money, which happened to
be very convincing, drifted into crowds of people in Las Vegas.
Knowingly and unknowingly, people began to use the bills. Large
amounts of this money began turning up in the Las Vegas and Los
Angeles areas. Many bills were being passed successfully.

As the incident grew more widespread, the Secret Service got
involved and the company that produced the bills, Independent
Studio Services, Inc., became embroiled in legal trouble. The
Secret Service deemed their fake money product too realistic and
seized the prop money from ISSI's facilities. Eventually the
company had to stop printing fake money altogether.

Today, prop money is still widely available via memorabilia
stores, prop suppliers, private collectors and online auctions.
But this prop money is almost always obviously fake, with
indicators printed on the bills. Also, much of this fake money
is smaller than its real counterpart. Worldwide collectors are
eager to spend great amounts of money in order to acquire these
fake prints that have been used many years ago.

Article Title: If You Want To Save Money Use A Commercial
Mortgage Broker

================== ARTICLE START ==================
There are many advantages to obtaining the help of a commercial
mortgage broker. Of course the main reasons are that you will
get your mortgage in the shortest time possible along with
getting the best deal attainable. While you will have to pay the
brokers fees it is still possible to save money on your
development project.

The biggest advantage when it comes to shaving money off the
loan is the fact that a commercial mortgage broker will have the
knowledge of where to look when it comes to lenders. From past
experience they will know from looking at your proposal which
lenders are likely to offer what you want for the cheapest rates
of interest. A broker will also if need be, be able to search
with the whole of the marketplace to secure the cheapest and
best deal possible based on your individual circumstances.

Commercial mortgage funding will vary and this is dependent on
the circumstances of the individual and the project you are
proposing. The amount of experience in the field of commercial
property development goes a long way to determining how much
finance you will receive. 100% is usually held for those who can
show an excellent track record and who have completed several
successful projects in the past. The majority of property
developers will be offered around 70% to 75% for their mortgage.
The shortfall will have to be found by the individual and
depending on the size of the project this could be a substantial
amount so thought as to be given as to how to obtain it.

Another big advantage a commercial mortgage broker will have
over the individual going to a lender is when it comes to
negotiating the rate of interest for the loan. The rate of
interest will depend on the projects size, what your plans are
for the development and how much you wish to borrow. However as
a general rule you could expect to pay somewhere in the region
of 1.5% and 2.5% and lenders are in the best position when it
comes to negotiating the most attractive rates.

As the majority of commercial mortgages involve huge costs,
lenders will usually offer them on an interest only basis to
keep the monthly repayments as low as possible. When taking a
mortgage over what could be 20 years or more the loan will
accumulate a large amount of interest and this is what you will
be paying back over the term of the mortgage. Upon completion
there will be the capitol amount you borrowed to pay back in
full. Any lender will ask for proof that you will have the
ability to do this before lending you money based on interest
only.

Any type of mortgage comes with terms and conditions and a
commercial property development mortgage is no exception. Again
a broker can help to explain the technical jargon by offering
information by way of articles and FAQs. Reading the terms and
conditions that come with the quote a commercial mortgage broker
finds is of the essence. This crucial information contains such
as how much interest you will pay on the mortgage, how much you
will pay in full over the terms you have chosen and reveal any
hidden costs attached to the mortgage.

Going online when it comes to getting the cheapest quotes for
low cost secured loans is the easiest way of being sure you have
the best deal. The rates of interest on loans can vary a lot
and it is only by comparing both the interest rate and the key
facts that you can determine the best deal.

The easiest way of comparing several quotes is to go with a
specialist website. This will allow you to search from a single
page for low cost secured loans and get the key facts attached.
The key facts hold the small print and terms of the loan and
reading them is essential as extra costs can be added onto the
loan. One way lenders make sure they get their money if you
decide you can repay the loan back earlier than anticipated is
by adding an early repayment fee. The small print will also
explain how much you will be paying back in total over the years
you take out the loan. Along with this will be the rate of
interest and how much interest the loan will cost you.

A secured loan is handy for those who have had trouble getting
approved for loans in the past. They are also a good choice for
those who credit rating is less than perfect. By taking out a
low cost secured loan you can normally borrow more than with a
personal loan and the repayments can be spread out for a longer
period of time. However remember that interest is added on so
the longer you take out the loan, the more you will pay in the
long run. Due to this you will have to compromise when it comes
to keeping the monthly repayments down while also keeping the
length of the loan to a minimum.

The amount that a lender will usually allow you to borrow will
be up to the amount of spare equity that you have in your home.
The spare equity is defined by the amount that is left over
after the outstanding mortgage has been deducted from the value
of your home. There are some lenders that could be willing to
lend you up to 125% of this amount, but of course the rates of
interest would be higher. Low cost secured loans can be taken
out for virtually any purpose but as your home is put up as
security it is essential to make sure that you can afford to
repay the loan. You should also take into account that your
circumstances could change in the future and give some thought
to protecting the loan with loan payment protection.

A specialist website is always the best way of getting the
cheapest quotes for low cost secured loans. Not only will you
get all the quotes on one page for comparison, but also you can
be sure the search has been made with the whole of the UK
marketplace. Always take care when comparing the quotes as some
lenders can quote APR at weekly terms and of course this can be
confusing and would not give an accurate comparison when
compared to a monthly rate.

By employing a bit of creativity and following these easy
steps, you can draw up lowcost or even nocost marketing
campaigns. Whether you budget is limited or nonexistent there
are ways to draw customers to your business. Just try some of
these methods and see the results.

1. Talk about your business. Its the oldest form of advertising
there is Just talk about your business to others on every
occasion you meet them and see the word spread. You may think
you talk about your business a lot but do you? Most likely you
dont talk about it as much as you think about it. Thinking wont
get you anywhere. Talk about your business nonstop to anybody
and everybody. Then see word of mouth work for you.

2. Be controversial. As you know, people and businesses in the
limelight are either loved or hated. The public is rarely
lukewarm about them. So you should get the public to feel
strongly one way or another about you. A good way to do this is
to be controversial. You can do this through controversial
products, controversial statements, controversial dress, and
controversial projects. Its a great way to get into the public
eye and stay there.

3. Give stuff away. This is another marketing trick that is as
old as marketing itself. Give away gifts whether they be mugs, T
shirts, stickers, badges. The sky is the limit here and the
freebies need not be expensive. Ensure your brand and web
address are on them. Also add free products to your
autoresponder emails.

4. Have your say. Top entrepreneurs have views on anything and
everything and thats the way they stay in the limelight. Above
all they are emotional and controversial in their comments and
views. This is something you should pursue. Become a regular
columnist in a newspaper or magazine dealing with your field of
business. Get on talk shows. Soon you will be perceived as an
expert on the subject. The spin off will be credibility for your
and your business, and of course more sales.

5. Blog. A blog is more than a self indulgent diary online. It
is a great advertising medium and a potentially lucrative
revenue earner. You should keep it up to date and fill it with
content that promotes your business directly and laterally. Make
the topic of your blog extremely close to your business and
stick to the topic of the blog as you develop it. Search for
sponsors and affiliates that have similar products to propagate
your business more effectively.

6. Reinvent your business. Every single day you should ask
yourself if you are selling the right products and services. Do
they still meet the needs of customers? Are there better and
more lucrative ways to meet their needs efficiently and
profitably? Conduct research on the internet and by walking
around and talking to people to find better ways to do business.
Keep it fresh, keep it young, and keep it happening. These are
the techniques that will take you far and they dont cost an arm
and a leg.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
How long a collectible vinyl doll will be around is anyone's
guess as the long-term life of vinyl has yet to be established.
Since vinyl play dolls didn't begin appearing until the 1950s,
and therefore establishing criteria for a collectible vinyl doll
is still in its infancy.

When play dolls first arrived on the market most were made of
hard plastic and their hair was actually wigs, which were glued
on and left little room for soft play. With the introduction of
vinyl, dolls became softer, more pliable with hair that could be
sewn into the head instead of glued on.

As collectible vinyl dolls started becoming of interest in the
past few years, pricing has become somewhat subjective with the
market determining the going price. A number 1 vinyl Barbie
doll, for example, in good condition, may be hard to find
bringing its price to a collector of upwards of a few thousand
dollars.

Many other vinyl dolls saturated the market in the 1950s and
1960s making it difficult to establish a price range for these
collectible vinyl dolls. Manufacturers such as Mattel, Ideal and
others flooded the market and in the 1940s and 1950s some even
used a harder vinyl similar to the hard plastic initially used
for play dolls.

Defining Characteristics of a Collectible Doll

Since such a huge number of vinyl dolls were made in the 1950s
through the 1970s their value is somewhat questionable. However,
a collectible vinyl doll in mint condition still in its original
packaging can fetch the highest price from an honest collector.
Play dolls in pristine condition, even without the package, can
bring in a little extra money from a collector.

As mass-market toys, they were not designed to become a
collectible vinyl doll; rather they were designed for play. Many
of the older vinyl dolls are showing signs of aging as their
vinyl skin has faded or developed wrinkles and they have gone
bald. Others may have undergone cosmetic surgery or had a broken
arm replaced or repaired. Their only value will probably be
sentimental.

However, the desire to own a certain type of vinyl play doll
has helped the market with some people claiming they had one
when they were little and even if it has been played with, they
want to have one either for their own collection or for their
child to play with. Check auctions such as eBay to see the
numerous vinyl play dolls still available on the market.

College Football - How to Ferret Out Which Teams Are Rising and Falling in the Polls
Copyright © 2007 Ed Bagley

Many sports fans who anxiously await the release of the
weekly football polls really miss one of the best parts of
the poll when searching only to see where their favorite is
ranked.

Many newspapers and online services do not give the total
results of the polling, they only list the Top 25 picks for
the week.

You have to dig a little deeper to discover which teams
received votes but not enough votes to make it into the Top
25. Look at the bottom of the poll results for this entry
in small print: Others Receiving Votes.

In Tuesday's AP Poll (9-11-07) it showed these entries:
South Florida 220, Missouri 144, Alabama 116, Washington
95, Arizona State 28, Appalachian State 19, Cincinnati 12,
and Kansas 1. All of these teams started their season by
winning their first two games, many times impressively.

I am ignoring five other teams which garnered votes in the
AP Poll to make a point. These five were TCU 66, Auburn 23,
Florida State 2, Iowa 1 and Purdue 1. Iowa and Purdue are
2-0 but have not won as impressively and the others are 1-1.

USC (Southern California) is No. 1 in the AP Poll with a
1-0 record and 1594 total points. Texas A&M is No. 25 with
243 points. Sportswriters cast ballots giving their 1st
place pick 25 points and their 25th pick 1 point.

Notice that Texas A&M had 243 points, and South Florida
which did not make it into the Top 25, had 220 points, only
23 points behind. Had South Florida gotten 24 more points,
the Bulls (their nickname) would have been No. 25.

If the Top 25 this week had instead been the Top 36, then
South Florida would have been No. 26, Missouri No. 27,
Alabama No. 28, Washington No. 29, Arizona State No. 31,
Appalachian State No. 33, Cincinnati No. 34, and Kansas No.
36.

This information is significant to fans like me because of
my interest level. One game I play every week is to discern
which teams are rising and which teams are falling in the
polls.

While many of our wives, sweethearts and significant others
may find this activity to be terribly boring, it is a habit
that is far superior to other habits such as drinking,
drugging, sleeping around, lying, cheating and stealing.
This is why I feel no need to justify, apologize or defend
myself in this practice.

Those following my College Football 2007 weekly reports
during the first two weeks of the season know that I have
already been spot on in identifying teams rising and
falling.

Before the polls were even out, I correctly identified
South Florida, Alabama, Washington, Arizona State,
Cincinnati and Kansas as teams on the rise.

I correctly identified these teams as falling in the polls:
Michigan (No. 5 to out of the Top 25), Florida State (No.
19 to out of the Top 25), Boise State (No. 22 to out of the
Top 25), Auburn (No. 17 to out of the Top 25), Georgia (No.
11 to No. 23), Wisconsin (No. 5 to No. 7), Hawaii (No. 20
to No. 24) and Texas A&M (No. 23 to No. 25).

The two most overrated teams among those slipping are
Wisconsin and Hawaii. Why Hawaii and Texas A&M are still in
the polls is beyond me.

One or more of the Top 25 teams will lose this weekend,
just as Michigan, Florida State, Boise State, Georgia and
Auburn have already been ranked in the Top 25 and lost
during the first two weeks of the season.

Let me predict that Alabama, Washington, Michigan State,
South Florida and Arizona State will all be ranked among
the Top 25 in the AP Poll before the season is over.

I would also note that in the Coaches Poll, South Florida,
Washington, Alabama, Arizona State and Cincinnati did not
make the Top 25 but did receive points.

Heck, in the Coaches Poll, even the Wyoming
Cowboys—who I love because they are tough to beat at
home—received points.

Receiving points in the Coaches Poll with 2-0 records were
Missouri, Texas Tech, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland and Purdue.
I have not identified any of these teams as on the rise
because they have not played good teams or won impressively.

Keep your eye on Alabama, Michigan State and Arizona State
because they all have first-year coaches in Nick Saban (the
Crimson Tide), Mark Dantonio (the Spartans) and Dennis
Erickson (the Sun Devils). These three coaches are
excellent and all come from great teams with winning
traditions.

Erickson's offensive savvy is so good he could probably
make a winning player out of a blind mole in the Arizona
desert.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
The cost of living has undoubtedly increased in the last decade
or so. The housing market is indicative of that and, as a
result, it has gradually become more and more difficult to get a
foot on the property ladder. However, those individuals that
have managed to begin climbing may find it extremely difficult
to avoid debt in the first few years of having a mortgage. Never
fear though, help is at hand in the form of low rate secured
loans.

Low rate secured loans can give an individual that happens to
own his or her own home an option to borrow money without having
to go through the hassle and strain of re-mortgaging. This gives
that little bit of extra money for debt consolidation, home
improvements, or even in order to be able to afford extra
luxuries at Christmas, for example. The whole idea behind low
rate secured loans is using your property as collateral.

Given that the majority of individuals may struggle from time
to time owing to the increased cost of living ruling out savings
as an option for a high number of individuals these days, low
rate secured loans can help to negate any financial short term
issues that may arise. However, low rate secured loans can be
difficult to find if an individual chooses to examine his or her
options fully. It is essential to explore all options, but an
Internet shop and compare site would give all of the low rate
secured loans options available with just a few clicks of a
mouse, thus allowing any individual to get his or her finances
sorted out quickly.

In short, low rate secured loans may be used as an ideal
solution to a financial problem. A homeowner can borrow a
certain amount by putting the equity that he or she has within
his or her property up as a guarantee. However, if you do happen
to be considering low rate secured loans for this purpose then
it is essential that you are able to keep up repayments because
your home may be on the line if you cannot.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
There is an alarming number of new, and uneducated, commodity
traders losing just about everything they own. Why? There are a
number of reasons why a new futures trader stands back,
scratches his/her head and wonders why their trading account
went from thousands of dollars to almost nothing over night.

What happened?

There are actually a number of things that came into play.

1. First and foremost. They believed all the hype that they
would become rich over night.

2. They did not buy a good course on how to trade the commodity
markets.

3. They picked up some books on trading at the library, or
worse, they signed up with a trading forum on the Internet and
believed everything the so called experts said about getting
rich over night in the futures markets.

4. They did not have a trading plan before they placed a trade.
A disaster in the making.

5. They believed everything their broker told them. A NOTE: All
brokers are not bad.

So what are new traders supposed to do. How do they keep from
losing all their money in their first month as a commodity
trader?

There are two very basic ways to learn the craft of trading.

1. Paper trade. Learn what to do before risking a penny.

2. Trade Mini-Futures contracts. Keep any loses to a minimum.

There are multitudes of commodity trading books on how to make
money trading futures contracts. However, a person will be hard
pressed to find how-to books devoted exclusively to trading
Mini-Futures.

The reason I believe is that Mini-Futures lack the glitter and
claims to instant wealth found in the more traditional commodity
trading manuals.

It's unfortunate, but an alarming number of new traders will
read one or more of the how-to books on commodity trading and
jump right in and place a trade order not fully comprehending
the real risks involved in trading.

Futures prices can and do make extreme price swings. New
traders, because they lack experience, are unprepared to handle
the large losses when trading standard futures contracts when
prices move suddenly against their position.

Mini-futures are not immune from the same extreme price move.
However, the dollar loss is considerably less. Mini futures
contracts will let a new trader survive a sudden market shift
and have money left in their trading account for the next
trading opportunity.

What about limiting your losses with Stop Loss orders?

A Stop Lose is supposed to keep you from having large losses.
Right? Not necessarily. There is what is called Daily Limit
Moves, known as Limit Move, in futures trading.

A Limit Move means that a commodity price can only change up or
down a certain amount during a trading session. When that
happens trading stops until whatever caused the drastic price
shift changes.

When a commodity makes a limit move against you it can shoot
through your stop loss as if it did not exist. If you are
unfortunate enough to get stuck in a Limit Move against you that
last two, three, or more days you will be wishing you never
heard of trading commodities.

This is not an everyday occurrence that you have to lose sleep
over, but you need to be aware of it.

Trading futures can be a very profitable way to earn a living
if you treat it as a business. Trading in the commodity markets
is an extremely high-risk business and as with any business you
must first learn the business so you won't lose everything you
own.

Think of it as if you suddenly wanted to be a high wire
performer in a circus. You would be in serious trouble if you
put on the flashy tights, went up 50 feet and inched your way
out on the wire before you learned the craft of tightrope
walking a foot off the ground. Fifty feet is a long way to fall
without a net to catch you.

Trading in the futures markets, and even the FOREX markets is
considered very risky. You must learn how to do it without
putting your entire financial world at risk.

When I say risk I mean how much money you stand to lose if a
trade goes against you. Your risks are anywhere from 20% to 50%
less with mini futures over the more standardized commodity
contract.

As an example a 20-cent move against you in corn is $1000 while
the same move in the mini corn is only $200. Another great
feature of the mini futures markets is the investment required
to trade a mini commodity is also 20% to 50% less. A mini wheat
contract currently requires about $400 to trade while the full
size contract requires more than $1400.

A final note: The FOREX markets also have mini-contracts. But,
the same risks apply. This series of articles will hopefully
show you how to limit your exposure to a financial disaster.

The world is filled with people who spread rumors, and most of
them are baseless. they are spread so there is something to talk
about even though there is no logic nor does the news make any
sense. Experts immediately find ways of putting these to rest,
especially when connected to medical conditions. For something
as simple as acne, there are numerous rumors and myths floating
about. Some of these have no basis, and not scientifically
proven and Doctors and dermatologists who are qualified try
throwing light on these issues to protect the patients'
interests.

Some of the most popular myths about acne are,-

1. Acne is caused because of stress

This statement is only partly true, stress is not a sole cause
for acne, but it does trigger acne and at times when the boil
gets aggravated it could be due to high stress. When a person is
stressed out, his body increases sebaceous glands functioning
which leads to excretion of oil. For a lady who is trying to
conceive, she might worry each day about whether she is pregnant
or would she ever get pregnant or not. This will add to stress
that builds up inside her system and is released in the form of
acne.

If , on the other hand, a women wants to put off getting
pregnant and begin using oral contraceptives, they should
consult their doctor to understand the effects and benefits of
the same before taking them. In order to prevent acne, people
are often advised to get involved in some activity that will
help control the stress levels and keep them relaxed.

2. Food items leads to acne

There are no direct connections between food and acne, and this
has been a research for quite sometime now. However, if a person
adopts eating of regulated healthy diet, their skin condition is
known to be better than others. For people who rely on fast
food, French fries, aerated drinks, greasy oily food or even eat
out regularly, the amount of oil extracted will lead to acne or
pimples frequently.

3. Cosmetics connected to cases of Acne

A small zit on our face wrecks our life and spoils our day, and
we will not rest till we have found a solution. All it does is
hampers the looks, and leads to scars. This cannot classify acne
as a cosmetic based disease. However, excessive use of cosmetics
and make up will cause acne, when the person does not know the
proper method of applying and removing the make up. They need to
understand that their skin too like them needs fresh air, and
this is possible only by washing their face before going to bed
after a party.

4. Dirt and grime leads to acne

Dirt will not directly lead to acne, but it might be the reason
if there is too much dirt or grime on the skin and it gets mixed
with the oil secreted. When the follicles on the skin cells get
blocked, it leads to acnes.

Easy Steps To Keep Your Valentine Forever!

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Here are some little known facts about Valentine's Day:

1. Nationwide, 6,000 couples will tie the knot on Valentine's
Day 2008. Even when that date does not fall upon a Saturday,
February 14 is consistently one of the most popular days of the
year to wed.

2. 255,000 other couples will become engaged for Cupid's
favorite holiday. No wonder that date is beloved by greeting
card shops, romantic restaurants and diamond jewelers.

3. Yet (and here's the sobering part) based on current trends,
118,000 of this year's Valentine-launched unions will be
dissolved via divorce by Valentine's Day 2015!

Does all that mean the odds are stacked against lasting love
and long-term marriage? That even the most romantic love-birds
should anticipate break-up and disappointment in a few years?
That there is little hope for the thousands of couples
celebrating Valentine proposals and nuptials (or unions that
begin on any other date) this year?

Not at all! You and your sweetheart CAN overcome the
statistics, avoid break-ups, steer clear of divorce, and take
simple steps that keep Valentine love flourishing
forever--whether you're newly dating, newly betrothed, newlywed
or not-so-newly paired up. Use the following information to
avoid a possible "Valentine's Day Massacre!"

Start by recognizing that fewer people are getting married than
ever. Our nation's rate of marriage has dropped 50% in the last
40 years. In fact, for the first time in United States history,
more of us are single than married! That can certainly affect
our marriage numbers and success rate. But don't despair.

Next, make sure that yours is a "Built-to-Last" relationship by
treating your marriage like a business. Think about it... the
top objective of any business is long-term success. You can
apply the same proven business strategies that make for a
successful business to create a successful marriage...
Built-to-Last!

To keep love alive, you'll want to:

1. Develop a "love logo" which becomes the distinctive "brand"
for your one-of-a-kind relationship as you find and create an
image that reminds you how great your marriage is--just like a
corporate logo reminds you of what it stands for.

2. Write his and her job descriptions. Know what it expected of
each party to make this marriage business WORK. Start by
pinpointing each partner's chores and responsibilities around
the house. Don't risk losing that loving feeling over simple
things like who takes out the trash or who walks the dog.

3. Give each other timely "Performance Appraisals" based on how
well each of you is doing with your job descriptions. Be
prepared to make recommendations and garner praise. Love
blossoms when you're working in cooperation for success.

4. Expect an "emotional paycheck" in the marriage. Learn how
and when to ask for the raise you deserve--like more hugs,
compliments or flowers.

5. Meet frequently for couple's strategy sessions,
brainstorming, problem-solving and romantic retreats. These
meetings represent ideal opportunities to define and re-evaluate
the relationship, and to renew and refresh your bond.

Anyone can apply this business relationship model to strengthen
a budding romance… to help get a new marriage off to a good
start… OR to validate and fortify a relationship that has
already lasted for decades. Love IS a business! A wonderful
business you'll want to reinforce and sustain for a lifetime!

================== ARTICLE START ==================
There is a popular saying in business cycles that, "You need
money in order to get money". In other words you have to invest
or expend some of your own money before you can earn some money.
This is largely true whether you are running a brick and mortar
business or you have decided to get aboard the internet
revolution that is changing the world rapidly and making huge
bucks for those who have mastered the ways of the internet.
However, it is equally true that not everyone has the resources
that would be required to get an online business up and running
within a reasonably short period of time. This therefore makes
it imperative to still find other ways to drive traffic to your
site without paying a lot of money or any money at all.

The internet is so versatile as to allow such methods that
actually democratize business transactions making it possible
for anyone serious and committed to make a living online without
giving out an arm and a leg. These free methods do not require
tons of cash or any cash at all but require time for results to
be obtained. You will therefore need to, right from the onset,
have the proper mindset and recognize that you need to work hard
and persevere. You will also have to conduct some research into
your niche in order to gain some commanding knowledge that will
permit you to make sensible and coherent commentaries on your
subject matter.

The reward that you get through recognition and subsequent
sales and profits will make up for your hours of hardwork and
perseverance. How sweet would it be for you to generate traffic
to your site without paying a cent but just through these free
methods? However, I must say that it is still faster for one to
build a business through paid advertising but where that is not
possible free methods could also deliver. Free methods therefore
give you the chance to be layer in this interesting and highly
rewarding industry.

So what are some of these free methods that should help you to
generate traffic to your site? Now that you have decided to
become an internet marketer or at least give internet marketing
a shot you have become a member of a community or even a family;
the internet business community. There are thousands and
thousands of online communities popularly referred to as Forums
which bring together like minded people in your niche or area of
interest. You can take advantage of these communities by
participating fully through informed commentaries and discussion
on these forums. Remember that these are targeted communities
who are already engaged or at least very interested in your own
area of engagement and interest. This provides you with an
opportunity to establish yourself as an authority in your field
and gradually develop a positive reputation in these online
communities which will eventually translate to more traffic
getting unto your site. The level of trust and confidence that
you are able to attain will determine your level of success and
profits at the end of the day.

There are some basic points that you will need to consider as
you go about your activities in these forums. Always try to be
sincere about what you post and take the trouble to research
your ideas so that your effort will not be counterproductive. Do
not just post a comment for the sake of being heard. At the end
of your post include some catchy signature line that will pique
the interest of your readers to follow you to your web site for
more of such wisdom.

Another method of free advertising is article marketing. Many
books and articles have been written about this subject which
testifies to the fact that it works in generating quality
traffic to web sites. You don't have to be a guru to write an
article but surely you need to know what you are talking about.
Your articles could be short in the format of guides and tips
that will assist people in solving some of their problems. Your
principal objective in providing quality information and
knowledge that will be appreciated by your readers. This will of
course make them to follow the links to your site for more
useful information. Article marketing has been made easier by
article-submission services that mostly submit your articles
free of charge to many publishers and ezine owners. You should
therefore include, at the end of your articles, brief
description of yourself and your site in a manner that will
compel further inquiry by readers.

This gets better after you have written many articles. You can
therefore start your own newsletter where you will provide
people with a catalog of your products and interesting and
entertaining articles. If you get this right through quality
write ups and information, more people will sign up for your
newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more signups
for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go
to your site increasing your traffic.

Similarly, you can exchange links with other web sites in your
niche without spending any money. All you do here is enter an
agreement with another web master permitting this exchange of
links to the mutual benefits of both sides. This is effective
because any visitor to your partner website could potentially
also click on the link to your own site and when this is done
more often it could generate reasonable amount of traffic for
your site.

Let me also tell you that one fundamental factor that drives
traffic to any site is content hence the popular saying that,
"Content is King". This is effective any day any time. In other
words if you are in this for the long haul then you must write
good content for your site. This is the single most critical
ingredient for your online success. In doing this, you should
pay attention to effective choice of keywords and keyword
phrases for your site. While it is not a requirement that a
content should be done by a professional content writer, you
should nonetheless ensure that the content on your site is
useful and of great quality.

This makes it much easier for the search engines to find your
web site whenever internet users are looking for information in
your niche. This could potentially catapult you to high ranking
positions whenever results pages are displayed. The reward could
be fantastic.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
iPod represents a wide array of moveable media players which
have been designed and are sold by Apple Inc. It was first
launched in October 2001.

iPod models generally cover digital audio players with a
central click wheel to iPod Shuffle that uses various buttons
because of its small size. iPod Nano, a fifth generation, was
launched in September 2006. This led to discontinuation of iPod
mini, which it stored the data on an internal hard disk. iPod
Shuffle and Nano employ flash type of memory for smaller size.
These devices also act as an external medium for data storage.

iPod was inspired by the shortcomings of existing digital music
players, which were not physically compact and the user
interface were not very friendly.

Apple assembled a group of engineers and within a year, it
unveiled the iPod. It was launched as a product which was
Macintosh compatible with a hard drive of 5 GB. Apple used
PortalPlayer`s reference for its software. The company Pixo
helped iPod for developing user interface. But these were
refined by Apple after development.

The naming of the device as `iPod` was suggested by Vinnie
Chieco, who is a freelance copywriter. Coincidently, Apple had
the name registered for `internet kiosks`, but it never used it
for this purpose.

iPod can run MP3, M4A/AAC, AIFF, Protected AAC, Audible Audio
book and WAV format. It also introduced the displaying of images
ability with PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and JPEG formats. The 5th
generation models can even play MPEG 4. From the 2nd generation
model, the software also started working with Windows along with
Macs. It doesn`t support Microsoft`s WMA audio format. WMA and
MIDI files can be changed using iTunes, a service provided by
Apple through which you can view and download latest songs and
movies on your device player.

iPods having colored displays use texts and graphics which are
anti-aliased and sliding animations. The operating system is
stored in a dedicated storage medium of the device. Each device
player has 32 MB Ram, though later ones have 64 MB Ram. Most of
it is used to cache songs through the storage medium.

Apple also added PDA type functionality so that text files can
be viewed and an address book can be maintained through a
computer. Also, some built-in games like brick are also
included. In fifth generation iPod, the brightness of the screen
can be adjusted and games can be downloaded from iTunes Store.

For first and second generation models, as well as Nano and
Shuffle, internal lithium polymer batteries are used and for
third and fifth generation models, internal lithium batteries
are used. Initially, iPods came with a FireWire connection for
charging the device, but with introduction of multipurpose USB
ports, they became outdated. Recent iPod models can be charged
using USB 2.0.

Many accessories, even by third parties, have been made for
iPods. Some additional accessories developed by Apple were sound
recorders, FM Radio Tuners, Remote Control and Audio-Visual
Cables for TV. Other accessories are external speakers,
protective cases, and wireless earphones. Third parties
manufacturing most of these accessories are Griffin Technology,
Belkin, Bose, and SendStation.

BMW vehicle manufacturer was the first car company to launch an
iPod automobile interface, thus allowing newer vehicles to
control iPod through steering wheels. Later Apple made this
technology available to many other car brands too. Even certain
Airlines started provided iPod connectors in the seat.

Apple markets its own iPod earphones and claims that they are
better fitting for ears and provide better sound quality. Since
it was launched, iPod has been market leader in digital players
because of their high quality, supreme aesthetics and ease of
use. With more cash flowing into research every year, there is
no reason for this fact to change.
