================== ARTICLE START ==================
Almost everyone longs for a place where they fit in, a place
where they feel safe and loved. For most people, their families
provide this security, but Paul Miller had to find it out in the
world and in his own heart. In his new novel, A Place to Belong,
based on true events, he tells a story of a childhood of abuse
and adolescence on the road in constant search for self worth
and faith in a cruel world.

Set in the years following World War II, the book opens as
Miller, 8, peers from the top of the stairs as a raucous teenage
party takes place below him. His sisters' party becomes the last
memory from his idyllic childhood. Forced by his cold father to
leave behind his Michigan home and the rest of his family,
Miller embarks on a disjointed, zigzagging trek across the
states with his mother. The three of them stumble from the
orange groves of Florida to the golden coast of California, but
Miller has no idea why, and his pleas for an explanation are met
with vicious retribution. His father's tenuous grip on reality
becomes as changeable as the landscapes through which they
travel.

Along the way, Noah, a wise fisherman, shows Paul that God
isn't some imperious judge sitting on top of a throne, but can
become your best friend, a buddy you can talk to. "But can such
a simple view account for all the misery Paul experiences?"

Although sadness and confusion hangs around Miller, he refuses
to let it bog him down. He is a fighter. At each stop on his
journey, he happens into adventure with a new friend. From
scaling buildings in Boston to hopping rooftops in Detroit,
Miller explores life and the purpose of evil that rests in the
world and in his own home in the form of his father. When his
mother suddenly passes away, Miller scurries from his father's
clutches and hits the road. His life is dictated by bus fare,
the kindness of strangers, the deviant desires of filthy
motorist and the kiss of a young girl as Miller pines for a home
that no longer exists. Back and forth across the country, Miller
stares into the debilitating effects of hatred and holds dearly
to the wisdom within simple words. Penniless on the side of a
highway in California, he finds rock bottom and discovers a
revelation about life and his place within it.

A moving story, A Place to Belong, finds a powerful tale of
triumph, love and determination amidst true childhood memories
littered with abuse, hatred and sorrow.

Through his book, A Place to Belong, Paul Miller hopes, in some
small way, will reach out and help people with similar problems
and make them understand that; "Hey, maybe I'm not so bad off
after all. Maybe, just maybe, there really is a way out of this
dilemma."

This is my first novel and I wanted to write it desperately for
50+ years. But, bearing one's soul to the world can be a very
scary adventure.

Are you running out of room at your home or office? Do you need
to ensure the security of your collectible items? Are you
renovating and don't know what to do with your furniture? From
business archives to excess household goods, self storage units
offer facilities that can solve the headaches and heartaches of
freeing up the space you need. Self storage gives you the
security, control and access you need over your papers,
household goods, stock and collectible items.

There are many types of storage units available at self storage
facilities that lease out space to individuals and businesses
large and small.

When do you require storage units?

• When you are moving and do not want to clutter your new place
while you settling down.

• Planning to sell your house and showing the house with
maximum space benefits, to get a better price.

• Storing Christmas decorations, snowmobile and snow blowers
during summers and bicycles, swimming pool and summer sports
equipment during winters.

• Old files, sentimental items and things that you might not
want to throw away.

• You need to ensure your collections and precious antiques are
safe and secure.

• Remodeling, painting and redecorating and you need to move
away your belongings.

• Death in the family and the items belonging to the person
need storage.

• Business and trade requirements for warehousing and archival
purposes.

Advantages of self storage units:

• Independent units can be used to store anything that is legal
and safe.

• A unit can be rented out on a weekly or monthly basis.

• You can padlock it with your own locks.

• The owners of these storage facilities do not have access to
these units.

• You can choose the size of the storage unit according to your
requirement.

• Completely safe as the owners are responsible for the safety
and security of the storage units and use the state of art
facilities to safe guard your belongings.

• Security cameras, alarms and security guards around the clock
are stationed for safeguarding the self storage unit facility.

• 24 hours access to the storage units.

However, you are not allowed to use self storage for flammable,
toxic and hazardous substances. They can also not be used for
living purposes but purely as storage units due to the lack of
proper ventilation.

You need to be aware that self storage facilities should have
optimized humidity control. Otherwise fungus, mold and mildew
can create havoc with the stored items, due to the poor air
ventilation and high moisture content inside the units. Good
storage units keep the humidity levels to below 65% with a
temperature set at 50 to 80 degrees F in their storage units.

Advanced storage facilities have other facilities such as cold
storage facilities for preserving food and flowers, which
require very low temperatures. Some self storage facilities are
optimized to store delicate items like wine.

No longer do you need to worry about how you will store all
collections or precious items – self storage units are the
answer to all your storage problems.

Find a self storage unit near you – EasyStorageSearch.com
provides a comprehensive directory of self storage units
conveniently displayed on an interactive map.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
To increase link popularity, you need solid link building
techniques. Link building allows you to establish relevant
inbound links to your website, which in turn increases search
engine rankings and helps you get traffic.

If you aren't familiar with the different methods people use to
increase link popularity and get traffic, the first thing you
need to know is that not every link building method is
considered acceptable. In fact, some of the methods used to
increase link popularity are considered so unethical that they
can actually get you in trouble with the various search engines.

To help you differentiate between what is ethical and what is
not, here is a list of the most common link building methods
used to get traffic:

Social Bookmarking

There has been a lot of discussion lately in regards to using
social bookmarking as a way to get traffic and increase link
popularity. Some people think that this link building technique
borders on unethical.

The truth is that it depends on how you utilize social
bookmarking sites. If you are an active member of a social
bookmarking community who posts links to a personal website and
other relevant sites to increase link popularity for everyone,
you are doing nothing wrong. If, on the other hand, you create
an account and repeatedly submit your own links and nothing else
to get traffic, you are participating in spam-like behavior.

Spamming

Spamming can sometimes get traffic to your website, but it is
not the best way to increase link popularity. Most of the search
engines frown upon spamming and have the ability to catch
inexperienced spammers within a month or two.

The following link building techniques are considered unethical
spamming by the major search engines: participation in unrelated
and centralized link farms, automatically generated doorway
pages, and false redirects.

Article Submission

Manual and automated article submission is another link
building technique that has garnered proven results over the
years. Article submission is widely thought to be an ethical way
to increase link popularity and get traffic. Nevertheless, there
are exceptions to the rule.

For example, article submission that is fully automated but not
targeted is usually considered spam. It is also a huge waste of
time when compared to other link building strategies. If you
want to get traffic and increase link popularity, you must
submit articles to the right directories.

CBuying Links

Search engines often advise against buying backlinks as a way
to increase link popularity and get traffic. The reason is
because it cheats their ranking system and is therefore
considered unethical. Even so, there are plenty of website
owners who employ this link building technique and reap great
rewards.

If you want to give this link building strategy a try, the key
is to start slowly by buying only a few backlinks. Buying 1,000
links in one day looks suspicious. You will also want to be
careful as to where you buy your links from. Ten quality
backlinks will help you increase link popularity and get
traffic; 100 poorly regarded backlinks will not. Keep in mind
you backlinks need to come from what search engines will
consider good neighborhoods.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Probably the biggest challenge for any home based business
entrepreneur is not the art of finding financing for the new
venture, but instead it is the ability to work solo without
anyone there to either guide, mentor, or motivate the person. As
a matter of fact, while it is true that many a home business
fails for lack of money and income, it is the problem of staying
motivated, on top of the game, and always ready and able to meet
the obligations of being an entrepreneur on a personal level
that presents a big obstacle to obtaining your
Hundred-Fold-Life!

Sure, at the onset the idea of no longer have to deal with the
office gossip, the constant interruptions, and also the crammed
office space shared with two or three people might seem like a
wonderful solution to all that ails you, but when it comes right
down to business, you may find that working by and for yourself
is a lot harder and more stressful than you might have had
imagined at the onset!

As odd as it may sound, working by yourself is a huge
distraction many a fresh baked entrepreneur has a hard time
dealing with! Each and every sound it amplified; the dripping
faucet beckons to be fixed, the dry plants suddenly seem to
scream for the attention of the watering can, the little dog who
is restfully sleeping might need a walk, and the blank computer
screen shows some dust that needs to be removed - together with
the dust on any stick of furniture in your home office.

Conversely, the inability to let off some steam and vent
frustration makes it hard to stay motivated and get in the game
of doing things. You may find that it was a lot easier to get
your work done in a crammed office where you could let off witty
one liners that got a chuckle out of your coworkers than it is
to do similar work in the confines of your quiet home where
nobody will provide that comic relief or the motivating slap on
the back to keep you going for the next round of challenges.

Many home based business owners have found that the best way of
dealing with the sounds of silence that seem to be so
distracting is by turning on the TV or the radio to a station
that does not necessarily play anything that is so interesting
that it will completely distract you from your work but instead
to just provide some background sounds to keep you going and
your mind from hearing the little rustles and sounds that might
tempt you to neglect your work in favor of housework. I have
found it helpful to listen to classical music on a public
broadcasting station with no commercials interruptions. The
music, with no words or themes to distract me helps to keep me
focused on the tasks at hand.

In addition to the foregoing, making a daily schedule and then
checking off the items you complete as you go is a wonderful
motivator to keep right on track! Even as it provides a visible
method of checking your daily work progress, it also allows you
to ensure that nothing goes by the wayside - and should you meet
your daily objectives early, why not reward yourself with a long
lunch, workout, or an early quitting time?

Keeping to a work schedule with proper time management helps to
ensure that your home based business will be a success. Remember
your WHY for having your own business and the rewards that
living a Hundred-Fold-Life bring to you and your family.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Closet designs are meant to enhance or improve the usable
storage space. Accessories such as shelving, drawers and hanging
areas all work together to maximize the amount of space used for
storage in a closet. The closet can be in any room in your
house, as closet organization is important all through the home.

If you are losing the battle against clutter in your closet
then it is time to consider doing it either yourself or
professional closet designs. If you are thinking of maximizing
the available storage space in your closet then there is always
a way to come up with something to fit your needs. You could
have a simple or an extravagant design in mind, either way it
can be done.

There are many closet designs available today. Whether it is a
kitchen, linen closet, pantry, bedroom closet or hall closet
there is something that can be done to fit your requirements.

Have you considered lighting as a way to enhance your closet?
Closet designs include the use of lighting as a way to improve
the overall use of the closet. Many people do not include
lighting as part of their closet re-design. The proper choice of
lighting is essential and must be thought out carefully.

If standard filament or fluorescent bulbs are installed the
lighting can be somewhat limited. Thus, it cannot provide the
very best lighting when searching for the perfect outfit from
your closet. This is an important and often overlooked fact
about closet designs.

You could consider adding closet design accessories to build
new spaces for the variety of items you need to store. You can
find these accessories in a number of different designs. They
are designed to turn any closet into a tidy organized efficient
storage space. Having a good design idea is really just
considering the best option for your particular closet. In
addition, you will be saving yourself a lot of time if you have
a more organized system.

Take your time to plan your closet designs. Consult your local
library or contact a friend or family member who may be involved
in the design business. Do not overlook the internet as a means
of researching your design especially if you plan to do it
yourself.

Is your closet large enough to double as a sitting room or
dressing room? Could it provide this sort of function if you
were to implement a new closet design system? Your closet must
be convenient and adaptable regardless of its size. If you have
the space, consider putting a small chair inside which would be
convenient for putting on shoes and socks. Consider putting a
mirror in the closet so you can see yourself while trying things
on. Maybe a flip-down ironing board would be a useful item as
well.

Closet designs can include almost anything if you have a large
walk in closet. Many people like to watch television or listen
to the radio while getting dressed or ironing. Is your closet
space large enough for electronics! There are many options
available concerning the design of closet spaces regardless of
which room the closet is in.

Article Title: Refacing Kitchen Unit Doors

================== ARTICLE START ==================
If your kitchen units are beginning to look past their best, or
even if you are just fed up with them, you can give your kitchen
a whole new look simply by re-facing the kitchen unit doors.

The amount of effort and expense involved depends very much on
the style of the existing doors. But whatever sort of door you
are working on, it is easiest to remove it first by unscrewing
the hinges.

Some doors comprise a wooden frame with a panel of decorated
hardboard or other material, which fits into slots in the inside
of the frame and is held in place by small screws.

If your doors are constructed in this way, renovation is a very
simple task.

Remove the door handles and unscrew the central panels.

Rub down the wooden doorframes with sandpaper and paint or
varnish as necessary. For the central panels, you can try to
either recover the existing panels with a self-adhesive
decorative vinyl such as Fablon or replace the panel's
altogether.

Decorative vinyl's comes in a variety of colours and designs,
including some very realistic wood grain and some bright, plain
colours. If you decide to do this, make sure that the surface of
the panels are completely smooth, and that any chips or bumps
have been filled. The vinyl will mould itself to the surface of
the panels and any indentations or specks of dirt will show
particularly if you are using a plain colour.

The fit the vinyl, cut a piece slightly larger than size of the
panel – you can do this with a pair of scissors.

Peel away the backing paper at one corner and lay it on the
panel making sure than the pattern is straight.

1. Gradually peel away the backing paper and smooth the vinyl
against the panel as you go using a soft cloth. Make sure that
no air is trapped under the vinyl, or you will end up with
bubble on the surface.

2. Once the panel has been completely covered take a knife and
trim off any excess vinyl around the edge of the panel. You can
use a marking knife, but take care not to cut through the panel
laminate.

Replace the panel in the slots in the door and screw it back in
position

If the panels are too badly damage to recover you could cut out
new hardboard panels using the old ones as a template, and cover
or paint them. Alternatively, you could replace them with a
ready decorated hardboard such as Laconite. This is supplied in
large sheets, and one sheet should covered approximately eight
doors.

If your cupboard doors are finished with a plastic coating or
decorative laminate, you can simply sand it down and stick new
laminate over the top providing the surface is relatively
smooth.

Most manufacturers of laminates produce a special grade for use
on vertical surfaces. Because it is not subject to heavy wear,
this is thinner and considerably cheaper than the grade normally
used for work surface. In addition, it does not add too much to
the thickness of the doors.

Cut the chase angling the chisel the direction you want it to
cut.

Make your channel just wide and deep enough to accommodate the
cable. If you are fitting a flush-mounted socket, cut out a
recess about 7-8mm deeper than the backing box. Fix the box is
place using screws and wallplugs.

An easy way to cut a recess for the backing box is to first
loosen the brickwork by drilling a number of closely spaced
holes and then taking out the excess with your chisel.

Thread a length of cable into the channel and secure it every
300mm with cable clips. Knock out one of the cable entry blanks,
add a grommet, and feed the cable into the backing box of each
outlet. Strip the cable, bare the wires and attach them to the
terminals on both sockets.

To repair damaged areas, load your plaster on to a small board
and stand near the wall. Pick up a small amount of plaster on a
filling knife and press it hard into the channel.

Once the damaged area has been filled, place a timber
straightedge across the face of the wall and move it slowly
backwards and forwards in a sawing motion. Work up and down the
wall so that the plaster is smoothed off neatly. Sand any ridges
when it is dry.

An alternative to channeling is to use plastic conduit.

Start by fitting the backing box in place using impact adhesive
or plugs and screws. Then measure and cut the backing pieces to
length – use a junior hacksaw – and fix them into position.

Feed the cable into place making sure there are no twists or
kinks (some manufacturers supply small clips which are spaced
along the top of the conduit to hold the cable tightly. Lead the
cable into both backing boxes, strip the ends and make the
electrical connections to each socket.

Trim the conduit covers to lenth and snap them into place on
top of the backing pieces (fit angled adapters as well, if
supplied). Screw both faceplates into position, then turn the
power back on at the mains.

Tip: Disguise plastic conduit by painting it the same colour as
the skirting board or architrave it runs along.

Tip: When wiring the new socket (or fused connector) double
over the end of each wire so that it is gripped more tightly
(and safely) in the terminal.

Tip: When stripping cable. Start with the outer sheathing. Slit
the sheath lengthways with a sharp penknife or trimming knife.
Do not cut back too far. 75mm Should be more than adequate for
most wiring. Peel back the sheathing like the skin of a banana
and cut off the waste.

The best way to strip the live and neutral wires is with a
dedicated wire stripper – a cheap, easy to use tool you can buy
from any DIY store. At a pinch, you could cut around the
insulation with a knife; but take extra care not to nick the
wires. Don't use pliers- there are too difficult to control
accurately.

NB: Please note you have to be a certified electrician to
perform any wiring in the UK. This article is for curiosity
porpoises only.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
A can opener is a handy tool to open up any cans but in today's
scenario it is not that easy to choose from the wide verity of
openers available in the market. The basic purpose of this tool
is to open up the cans with ease but the new age devices not
only complies with its basic duty but also performs many other
tasks like knife sharpener, tool holder etc. Thus it is proving
to be more and more like an integral part in the kitchen.

But do you know that when the can was discovered in the early
1810 it used to be made up of such hard material that it used to
be hammered to take out the contents, leaving absolutely no
requirement of a standard can opener.

That is the reason of the first opener to be discovered after
almost 50 years of the discovery of can. Strange but true, the
first can opener came into picture only after the lids started
to be made up of soft material so that it was possible to rip it
off using an opener and that happened 50 year later.

Since that time these devices have undergone many changes to
minimize human effort and to make the whole process easy to
operate and hygienic. Many designs today are very handy and more
hygienic to use. The models today are available in mainly two
types viz. manual and electronic or automatic. Many manual
openers have changed in a slow process and many of them haven't
changed at all like the classic p-38 opener.

The p-38 for example is the simplest design of an opener and
plays many roles as a handy pocket tool. Designed for the army
use this tool was supposed to perform many tasks without a
problem.

But the electronic or automatic openers have evolved fast. The
purpose of an automatic opener is to reduce human effort and the
electronic versions are successful in doing so. They easily rip
through the lid of almost any size of the can without you
assisting in the process.

While choosing an opener one has to review it on many important
aspects. First is to decide whether it should be manual or
automatic. The manual models are not dependent on electricity
and can be carried to camp sites as well.

Second aspect is the space it will acquire on the kitchen
table. The best of them are the one which can be stored in a
lesser space. Third aspect is the quality of its blade; a good
opener comes with a sturdy which easily rips through the lids
without leaving jagged edges which can be dangerous while
handling the can.

If the opener is an automatic one another important factor is
its motor, a powerful motor insures smooth working of the
opener. The most important factor while choosing this device is
hygiene. Ensure that the one you are planning to buy comes with
a magnetic lid lifter or lid pliers.

It is important as the magnetic lid lifter holds the lids while
the blade cuts it apart and prevents it from falling into the
food inside the can. This reduces the risk of food contamination
and proves to be more hygienic. Also it should be easy to wipe
clean along with the blades. This helps maintain the
cleanliness.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
We all think the enemy is somewhere out there, that some
person, force or nation is out to harm us in some way. Rather
than live a life focused upon what they want, many people's
lives center around protecting themselves from their enemies,
devising strategies to beat them. However, enemies consume time,
attention, resources, well-being and happiness in life itself.
And the odd thing about enemies is that even when we defeat one,
ten more seem to immediately appear. Even when they think they
are winning over their enemies, they are losing a life of
freedom, health and good will.

How To Get Rid Of Enemies Easily

The smartest, simplest and easiest way to get rid of your enemy
is to turn him/her into a friend. It actually takes only a
moment to do this. Stop for a moment and ask yourself, who
decided this person or situation is my enemy? You did. Now you
can turn that decision around and decide the person is a friend.
You can decide to become a friend to that person, (or to that
situation or condition), to stop fighting and respond with
kindness and care. You can choose to see other aspects of that
person, which are not in opposition to you. Once you step out of
the dance they are doing, how can they hurt you?

The True Enemy In Your Life

The next step would be to take a deep breath and realize where
the true enemy is hiding. What exactly is it that is keeping you
in constant turmoil? This is the moment to realize that your
true enemy is within. It is your very own hatred, anger, fear
and upset. The true enemy is the propensity we have for
projecting our anger and fear outside into the world, for
pinning it on people and situations and then battling with them.
It is extremely disempowering to project your darkness upon
someone else. It gives the other person power over you. Until we
stop this, more and more enemies will keep appearing.
Ultimately, they are the creations of our own mind and heart.

Below are some steps to take, to live a life free of enemies.
Try them and see how easy and enjoyable they really are.

Step 1: Make Friends With Your Enemy

Allow yourself a moment of willingness to consider the
possibility that your enemy wants the same things in life and
is, most likely, just as afraid of you as you are of them.

A)Say to yourself - "Like me, my enemy wants to be happy and
safe. Like me,me, my enemy has suffered and wants to be free of
pain. Like me, my enemy is lonely. Like me, my enemy will one
day face loss and death."

Step 2: Who Is Your Enemy

A)Make a list of those people (or situations) you feel are your
enemies.
(You may be astonished to note that even those you love are
fearful to you).
B)Write down three valuable qualities this enemy has.
C)Write down three ways you have gained from knowing them.
D)Write down what is needed for you to see them as a friend.

Step 3: Reclaiming Your Power

A)Upon whom have you projected most negativity?
B)What about this person is so unacceptable?
C)Can you see these qualities in yourself as well?
D)For just a moment, can you accept these qualities in
yourself? (This doesn't mean act upon them, just accept them for
what they are now).

Step 4: Turn It Around

A)Offer your enemy the gift of respect.
B)Offer your enemy the gift of really listening and knowing
them.
C)Stop judging your enemy. Let them be who they are.
D)Give your enemy what they want and need. Just one time.
E)Do it again now.
F)Notice how wonderful it feels.
G)Take time to notice how it feels to live in a world of
friends?

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Originally bred to hunt in 1800s England, the golden retriever
has retained much of its natural curiosity and hunting
behaviors. The breed has maintained its standing in the top ten
most popular dog breeds in the US partly because of the dog's
gentle nature, fierce loyalty and friendly personality. They're
the quintessential family pet due to their patience with
children.

The female golden weighs approximately 55-65 pounds, and stands
a couple of inches shorter than her male counterpart, who stands
about 24 inches at the shoulder, and weighs in at 65-75 pounds.
Females tend to have smaller, more delicately-shaped heads than
males. They come in a range of colors, from deep coppery auburn
to light cream. Their coats also differ in appearance. Field
goldens, or hunting goldens, are more likely to be darker and
sleeker than show goldens, whose honey-colored coats are thick
and fluffy. Goldens have two coats: their top coats are hardy
and water-repellent, while their undercoats are thick and dense.
These dogs shed most of their undercoat in the spring, and grow
it in preparation for the chill of winter. Regular grooming can
help control excessive shedding. Their ears are soft and floppy,
but they perk up at the sound of, well, almost anything. Their
eyes are brown and very expressive.

Their bodies are very well-engineered to excel at agility
contests. Thanks to their hunting background, they're strong and
muscled, yet quick and agile. Don't let their gentle nature fool
you. They are also incredibly strong dogs. Seventy pounds of
golden on the end of a leash can take down even the strongest
person if he's not prepared.

They need plenty of regular exercise. If it were up to them,
they'd walk for hours. Daily walks, romps in the yard and trips
to the dog park can help it work off some of that golden energy,
which is never in short supply. They rarely get tired of playing
fetch. They excel at finding objects hidden in the yard. They
also love to swim, and will retrieve from water all day if you
let them.

From a temperament standpoint, goldens are extremely agreeable.
They're neither very shy nor extremely aggressive. This tolerant
nature makes them a good choice for any home, including those
with children. They're loyal and loving, as well as outgoing and
friendly. They thrive on human interaction, and are happiest
when they're around people. They never get tired of belly rubs
and head pats. In fact, if the petting stops, many of them will
nudge their masters, as if to say, "Don't stop!"

Though they're usually the center of attention, they still need
training. Their exuberance can be mistaken for misbehavior, and
it may be a few minutes before they calm down. Consistency and
firmness are important when training a golden. They need to be
taught that their master is the leader of the pack. However,
they are eager to please, and can learn their role quickly with
positive reinforcement tactics. No one is prouder than they
when they complete a task successfully. Though they love
showing off their tricks, they also love learning new ones.
Teaching new tricks is a great way to combat boredom during the
training session. Though they'll fetch all day, they won't sit
still for a training class longer than they have to. The key is
to make it fun and make it rewarding, all in short bursts of
time throughout the day. Goldens are game players, so if you
play with it in order to teach commands or tricks, your dog
won't even know the difference. It's just happy to have your
attention.

This is one reason goldens are one of the most popular breeds
of therapy dogs. As much as they love to play, they also love to
have a job to do. Besides being fast learners, they're also very
gentle. They can learn verbal commands or hand signals, and once
they are on the job, they can be calm and focused. They also
make good seeing-eye dogs for this reason.

This breed is not without its health issues. Goldens are prone
to hip dysplasia and allergies. This is partly due to
irresponsible breeding. Backyard breeders, eager to cash in on
the popularity of the golden retriever, breed unhealthy dogs
that pass on congenital diseases. Hip dysplasia occurs when the
bones of the hip joint don't develop correctly, and they rub
painfully against each other. Sitting still is not something
goldens are happy doing, so though these dogs may continue to
move around and play, they're in pain and should be treated.

Treatment consists of pain management, in mild cases, or in
more severe cases, surgery. Though complete rehabilitation can
take 12 weeks, the dog is up and moving within days. This
procedure can so dramatically improve a dog's life that it's
well worth the work to see your golden get its spark back, and
run and play like the puppy that it thinks it is.

These dogs also suffer from skin ailments and allergies. The
golden's thick coat makes it hard to see small skin irritations
unless they're specifically sought out. It's important to
inspect your pet regularly for any sore areas. A vet can run
tests to try to identify the source of the irritation, and
prescribe treatment, which might include frequent baths with
hypoallergenic shampoo, oral medication and/or allergy shots.

Even though this is one of the most popular breeds of dog,
thousands of them are relinquished to shelters or rescue
organizations every year. Most people would never think they'd
find a purebred golden at a shelter, but it's not uncommon. In
fact, the popularity of the breed may be the very reason so many
of them are found in shelters. Sometimes people don't research
the breed, and don't know that goldens need a lot of exercise
and a lot of human interaction. They're also not prepared to
train a dog. Unfortunately, when people like this get goldens,
more than likely, they end up surrendering them to a shelter or
a rescue organization.

Though the average life expectancy of golden retrievers is 11
years, sometimes they forget they've gotten older, and maintain
their puppy-like playfulness throughout their lives. As they
age, they may slow down a bit, so it's important to adjust their
food and treat intake accordingly. It's nearly impossible to
resist their sweet faces as they come looking for a treat, but
it's for their own good. As obesity rates in humans have
skyrocketed, so they have in dogs. Thankfully, this is one
disease that is completely preventable. If your dog is already
obese, it's 100% treatable. A balanced diet and plenty of
exercise will get your golden into fighting shape before too
long. It might also prevent the onset of canine diabetes, joint
problems and other weight-related issues.

Overall, this breed has one of the most agreeable dispositions
you can find in a dog. Goldens are also gorgeous, friendly,
obedient, loyal and loving. The downside, which pales in
comparison to their wonderful attributes, is that this is a
breed that sheds, needs a lot of exercise, and needs to be
around people. If your home can handle the relatively minor
considerations, the benefits you'll reap from loving a golden
retriever are immeasurable.

Whatever business you're running, you need to keep records of
customer accounts, payables to suppliers, tax payments,
collectibles, and dozens of other information vital to managing
your business at all fronts. Like your competition, you want to
be on top of everything, especially when it concerns your
customers. What is CRM technology to you then?

What is CRM?

CRM or customer relationship management is the core of every
business marketing strategy. Whether it's offering discounts or
freebies, these are geared towards maintaining continued
customer patronage and giving the customers 100% satisfaction
from the purchase of company product or services.

But what is CRM from the viewpoint of top management? Top
management look at CRM as the legitimate source of information
culled from various sources and consolidated for ease of
reference and analysis. People handling CRM are responsible for
inputting data and managing the information according to company
standards.

Organizations are realizing the importance of CRM technology.
What is CRM technology providing them? CRM has afforded them the
convenience of managing information from various sources in a
timely manner. However, there is no uniformity in corporate
needs. Even small establishments have different requirements.

Customized or Configured?

A bank needs to store and manage data differently from an
international shipping company. A multinational bookstore and a
small bookstore records and uses data similarly in some aspects,
but the extent will be at a great variance. The former will
talking about data in the hundreds of thousands, while latter is
seeing a databank storing information in a smaller scale. What
is CRM technology to one will always be different to another.

But both can benefit from CRM technology in many ways if they
are using the best CRM software. The best CRM software is not
about big name merchants. It is the program or the solutions the
software offers for specific needs.

Different CRM software offer different solutions and options.
Some can be customized or configured. For customization, a
company can request for a customized screen, listing, and custom
reports. For complex applications, requests for additional
configuration tools are accommodated.

For customization, you have to list down your specifications.
Determine what kind of information you need, how you are going
to use them, and what existing platforms you are going to
integrate into the new system. No doubt, this will cost you.
Buyers are required to be very specific in their requirements to
help them get the maximum benefit from CRM software solutions
available.

The Concept of CRM

The concept of customer relationship management is firmly
bolted into the DNA of marketing. Whether one is talking about
the process or technology, it always ends up in getting more
customers, keeping the loyal ones, and getting more sales.

CRM is about managing customer information and profiting from
this. To make this work, companies must have of personnel
trained on the technology. It is not recommended to have only
one person instructed on the features and management of the
software solutions. The more people trained, the better because
the collaborative aspect of the program can be used effectively,
with minimal errors and without unnecessary delays.

CRM is the latest tool to enhance marketing strategies. A
business without this technology misses features that make jobs
easier and faster. With CRM, prepare your mindset for busy
business days ahead and increased revenues.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
In biblical times, the fame of the wines of Lebanon was
widespread. The ambrosial nectar from the lush and vast
vineyards in the fertile valleys was much prized and praised. In
Hosea 14:7, the words of the Lord pronounced that men who walked
in righteousness ". . .will grow like grain. They will blossom
like grapevines. They will be famous as the wines from Lebanon."

The Ancient Vineyards

Five thousand years ago, Lebanon was already into wine making
long before the Greeks and the Romans. For the ancient Lebanese
people, wine was part of every meal and the highlight of every
festive family event.

It was during a wedding in Cana that Jesus performed his first
miracle; upon the prodding of his mother, he changed water into
wine during a wedding feast. The significance of this miracle is
not lost on the Christian world or to the imbibers and
connoisseurs of fine wines. The miracle still lives - Lebanon
wines are still the best you can find.

The Phoenicians, the ancestors of the present-day Lebanese,
sailed the seas to sell their wines. Those who settled in
certain areas established vineyards and perfected the technique
of fermenting grapes, making their wines the finest in the
ancient world.

Before the sun could bathe the valley with light, the field
workers hied to the vineyards of Baalbeck Valley to harvest the
grapes. The grapes were later pressed to a liquid and aged in
large wine vats, subsequently sold to nearby countries and lands
across the seas.

Lebanon's Wine Industry

Is it coincidence or accident that the French occupied Lebanon?
France brought along new farming technology and wine making
techniques. But it was only in 1837 that the wine industry was
modernized. This helped the local vintners develop better wines
that catered to different and more cosmopolitan tastes.

The country produces some 6 million bottles of wine yearly. By
quantity standards, this number is small compared to other
premiere wine-producing countries. But the Lebanese can boast of
the quality of their wines, and the wine industry of the country
is a fast growing one with 16 wine producers offering the best
from their vineyards. The prominent wine producers are Musar,
Kefraya, and Chโteaux Ksara. These companies have the
distinction of winning competitions and their wines are exported
to North American and Europe. Their wines also find their way to
nearby eastern communities.

The wines survived a troubled past of wars and civil unrest.
The Chateau Musar started in 1931 is one of the old wines still
produced and was lapped by a drinking public that loved how the
wine was adulterated with foreign grapes. This wine is only
marketed after six years of aging in huge oak barrels.

Another old wine producer is the Vin Nakad, which produces the
favorite Chateau 2000, a full-bodied wine that has notes of
fruit and corn. The Chateau 2002 from another wine producer
Nabise Mont Liban has notes of musk and framboise and a touch of
vanilla.

The Massaya, one of the newer Lebanon wineries, was put up in
1998. Among its offerings are the Massaya "Reserve" red 2000 (a
spicy and fruity wine), the Massaya Classic Rose 2001 with its
hint of fruity sweetness and herbs, and the fruity Massaya
Selection Blanc de Blancs 2001 Bekaa.

Wine will always be part of the Lebanese culture today and in
the future. Nations may rise and fall, but friendships will
always be sealed with a toast and a quaff of sparkling wine. So
drink your Lebanese wine with gusto.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
So, you have just set up a plan for your new business. One of
the first things many small business owners do when starting is
to find a company name. Very often they resort to cuteness,
chance, or other irrelevant modes of decision making. Naming
your business should not be left to fate or the likes of your
best friend. It takes as much procedure and research as any
other aspect of your business. People who don't realize this
often make terrible mistakes when naming their business, putting
themselves on the back foot right from the start. If you want to
give your business a name that will survive, avoid some of these
common mistakes and you'll be in a much stronger position.

First, don't let others decide things for you. Rarely has
anything creative or good has ever come out of a group meeting,
certainly rare enough to avoid this pitfall. There are sure to
be hurt feelings and damaged relationships if you choose to go
with one person's idea over that of another. When naming your
company, it's best to go it alone. You'll get better results,
and no one has to have their feeling hurt in the process. Keep
the group meetings for less creative solutions.

Next, avoid being the business owner who takes two unrelated
words and tries to combine them to make a new, more catchy word.
This is unwise and should be avoided at all costs. Your business
deserves better than to follow this latest trend just because
it's fashionable with some celebrity couples. Decide on a name
that is unique and relates to what you do and doesn't leave
people wondering what just what you are doing.

The biggest mistake you can make when naming your business is
to choose a common word as your name. For one, you are
guaranteeing the fact that there are probably at least a hundred
other companies across the country with the same name. Also, you
make your company almost impossible to find using an internet
search engine. With so much of today's business being done on
the internet, you can't afford to intentionally lose yourself in
the chaos. Even if you don't have a website and won't be making
sales over the internet, it's still important for people to be
able to find your business with a simple search. If your name is
too common, that will be close to impossible.

Does your company name mean everything? Of course not. But if
you apply these ideas, you should at least come up with a name
that does not destroy your business before you even get started.
Learn from other peoples mistakes. Sure, you will make your own
mistakes. Blaze a new trail in business naming errors if you
want to. But as many wise people have pointed out over the ages,
to fail to learn from history is to doom yourself to repeating
it.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
In the past year there has been some great products that have
come to light in the area of viral marketing strategies. There
is also some more fantastic products waiting in the wings, yet
to be released in the coming year.

In the early part of 2007 came Tim Brocklehurst's Viral Spiral.
This product has got to be one of the hugest and best creations
in the viral marketing arena. It definitely hadn't been seen
before. I dare say, if there are going to be some type of copy
cat types of products trying to replicate what this amazing
product has become, then they are definitely going to have a
tough time keeping up. With the advancements always being made
to this product it would be very difficult, if not impossible,
to ever match up to what this product has already become.

There was also a lot of other types of viral advertising types
of products. These ranged from viral ads, or viral types of link
cloakers. Some were quite good, well others simply didn't
deliver on their promises as far as the traffic you would be
generating as a result of their use. The top ones that came to
light would be Frank Bauer's Viral URL, Brett Ingram's Viral
Link Tracker and also Chris Haywood's Viral Pop Ads. The one
unfortunate thing that I did notice with some of these products
is that when a lot of people started to use the systems, the
loading time for web pages that were using the links supplied by
the sites became very, very sluggish. But, Frank Bauer's Viral
URL does seem to be unaffected by this, at least as far as I can
tell.

Near the end of 2007, we also seen a few great viral softwares
popping up. These softwares by a company called IM Buzz Creators
are still being released on a monthly basis. So far, every one
of them seem to be of very good quality and their viral aspects
are fantastic. Considering you can rebrand any of these
softwares with your own name, banners and links, each one of
these are definitely worth the investment.

There are some great uses for getting these softwares to go to
work for you with your viral marketing strategies.

Firstly, you can sell the software for whatever price you would
like to. When you buy one of these buzz softwares, you now have
the re-branding and resell rights to each software. You can make
some fast sells to your current subscriber list because you can
price it reasonably and many people will enjoy getting it for a
great price.

Secondly, if you are inclined to do so, you could also just
give it away. You could give this to your subscriber list or
directly from one of your websites for absolutely nothing.
Giving it away for free might not appeal to as many people out
there, but you have to look at the big picture when your giving
software such as this away. The big picture is that anybody that
uses this software will have links to your other products or
affiliate products you may be promoting in the software itself.
If anybody who clicks on one of these links decides to purchase
the product then you are credited with the sale. Very powerful
indeed!

This method of giving it away can also be carried a step
further. You can also give the person that acquired the software
through you, giveaway rights to the software. This way, he/she
is free to give it to his/her friends, or perhaps their own
list, or from their web site and benefit themselves somewhat as
they are creating a good relationship with people by simply
giving it to them. You in turn benefit since it is being spread
virally and carrying your very own links.

The last method that you could use in your viral marketing
strategies is to make this software available to members of a
membership site in which you own. By doing this, you are
supplying your members with good software for their own use, it
carries your links and well you know the rest of the story.
Viral software is here to stay, and the sooner you take
advantage of using it with your marketing the better off you
will be in the future.

Applying viral marketing strategies and tactics will, in time,
create a cascading effect in which you will notice having a
profound effect on sales in your immediate or near future!

marketing strategies to improve the overall effect in his

================== ARTICLE START ==================
I have been struggling for a few months to create a successful
Internet home business. Like most new internet marketers, I have
had my share of failures, I have been scammed and I've paid good
money for programs only to be ignored as soon as the cheque has
been cashed. To be honest, I have lost more money than I can
afford to lose. I know I'm not the only one, but it hurts and
it's a little humiliating.

I can tell you, with more than a tinge of embarrassment, that
until very recently my total earnings from my online business
was a mega $33.

I was very close to giving up when this unknown email showed up
in my inbox. Normally I would have sent it to the trash can, but
I was hanging around waiting on a confirmation email, so, being
bored, I opened it and I clicked on the offer to check it out.

The link took me to a capture page which I found very
intriguing, so I followed the links to learn more. I'm a bit of
a cynic and I kept thinking `this is too good to be true, but
then something clicked and I thought 'I Can Do This'.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe every newbie, who faces
the internet business world for the first time, dreams how great
it would be if a helpful, experienced Guru, would show up, take
them by the hand and patiently, teach them what to do and how to
do it. Most importantly, they would tell you what not to do.

I don't think even the most optimistic newbie imagines that
this could actually happen, for real. But guess what? It
happened to me! I still can't believe how close I came to
missing out on the best thing ever.

In the real world, there is an old salesman's adage that goes
something like this, "It takes the same amount of time and
effort to close a sale for a commission of $100, as it does for
one of a $1,000".

Let's be honest, the commission is always important. But even
more important is the product. Most products marketed on the
Internet are intended for and sold to other marketers. It's hard
to believe but it is true. It's a kind of self perpetuating
vacuum.

Online and offline, the best product is always the one
everybody wants. The product I discovered is sold both online
and offline but it can only be used in the real world and
everyone, including you, already loves it, and wants it and
can't wait to use it. As for the commission? Well, it's a $1000
a sale what more is there to say?

So to sum it up, I have a great product, I earn $1000 on every
sale and when the people who buy, also make a sale, I make
another $1000 and so on and so on.

I have a product which is everybody's dream, 'Travel'. Holidays
around the world, staying at luxury 5star resorts, for a mere
fraction of the normal cost. Who doesn't want to do that?

As if that isn't enough, I have a couple of guys leading me
along every step of the way, making sure that I make lots of
sales, and learn how to keep doing it. Why are they so
diligently doing that?

Because every time I get a sale and earn $1000, they also earn
a $1,000. So, in a perfect synergy, `if I don't get paid, they
don't get paid.' It should be very clear to see that it's not
too difficult and it doesn't take too many sales, for even a
newbie to earn $16+ per month.

Corruption and Transparency
By Sam Vaknin
Author of "Malignant Self Love - Narcissism Revisited"

I. The Facts

Just days before a much-awaited donor conference, the influential
International Crisis Group (ICG) recommended to place all funds pledged to
Macedonia under the oversight of a "corruption advisor" appointed by the
European Commission. The donors ignored this and other recommendations. To
appease the critics, the affable Attorney General of Macedonia charged a
former Minister of Defense with abuse of duty for allegedly having channeled
millions of DM to his relatives during the recent civil war. Macedonia has
belatedly passed an anti-money laundering law recently - but failed, yet
again, to adopt strict anti-corruption legislation.

In Albania, the Chairman of the Albanian Socialist Party, Fatos Nano, was
accused by Albanian media of laundering $1 billion through the Albanian
government. Pavel Borodin, the former chief of Kremlin Property, decided not
appeal his money laundering conviction in a Swiss court. The Slovak daily
"Sme" described in scathing detail the newly acquired wealth and lavish
lifestyles of formerly impoverished HZDS politicians. Some of them now
reside in refurbished castles. Others have swimming pools replete with wine
bars.

Pavlo Lazarenko, a former Ukrainian prime minister, is detained in San
Francisco on money laundering charges. His defense team accuses the US
authorities of "selective prosecution".

They are quoted by Radio Free Europe as saying:

"The impetus for this prosecution comes from allegations made by the Kuchma
regime, which itself is corrupt and dedicated to using undemocratic and
repressive methods to stifle political opposition ... (other Ukrainian
officials) including Kuchma himself and his closest associates, have
committed conduct similar to that with which Lazarenko is charged but have
not been prosecuted by the U.S. government".

The UNDP estimated, in 1997, that, even in rich, industrialized, countries,
15% of all firms had to pay bribes. The figure rises to 40% in Asia and 60%
in Russia.

Corruption is rife and all pervasive, though many allegations are nothing
but political mud-slinging. Luckily, in countries like Macedonia, it is
confined to its rapacious elites: its politicians, managers, university
professors, medical doctors, judges, journalists, and top bureaucrats. The
police and customs are hopelessly compromised. Yet, one rarely comes across
graft and venality in daily life. There are no false detentions (as in
Russia), spurious traffic tickets (as in Latin America), or widespread
stealthy payments for public goods and services (as in Africa).

It is widely accepted that corruption retards growth by deterring foreign
investment and encouraging brain drain. It leads to the misallocation of
economic resources and distorts competition. It depletes the affected
country's endowments - both natural and acquired. It demolishes the tenuous
trust between citizen and state. It casts civil and government institutions
in doubt, tarnishes the entire political class, and, thus, endangers the
democratic system and the rule of law, property rights included.

This is why both governments and business show a growing commitment to
tackling it. According to Transparency International's "Global Corruption
Report 2001", corruption has been successfully contained in private banking
and the diamond trade, for instance.

Hence also the involvement of the World Bank and the IMF in fighting
corruption. Both institutions are increasingly concerned with poverty
reduction through economic growth and development. The World Bank estimates
that corruption reduces the growth rate of an affected country by 0.5 to 1
percent annually. Graft amounts to an increase in the marginal tax rate and
has pernicious effects on inward investment as well.

The World Bank has appointed last year a Director of Institutional
Integrity - a new department that combines the Anti-Corruption and Fraud
Investigations Unit and the Office of Business Ethics and Integrity. The
Bank helps countries to fight corruption by providing them with technical
assistance, educational programs, and lending.

Anti-corruption projects are an integral part of every Country Assistance
Strategy (CAS). The Bank also supports international efforts to reduce
corruption by sponsoring conferences and the exchange of information. It
collaborates closely with Transparency International, for instance.

At the request of member-governments (such as Bosnia-Herzegovina and
Romania) it has prepared detailed country corruption surveys covering both
the public and the private sectors. Together with the EBRD, it publishes a
corruption survey of 3000 firms in 22 transition countries (BEEPS - Business
Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey). It has even set up a
multilingual hotline for whistleblowers.

The IMF made corruption an integral part of its country evaluation process.
It suspended arrangements with endemically corrupt recipients of IMF
financing. Since 1997, it has introduced policies regarding misreporting,
abuse of IMF funds, monitoring the use of debt relief for poverty reduction,
data dissemination, legal and judicial reform, fiscal and monetary
transparency, and even internal governance (e.g., financial disclosure by
staff members).

Yet, no one seems to agree on a universal definition of corruption. What
amounts to venality in one culture (Sweden) is considered no more than
hospitality, or an expression of gratitude, in another (France, or Italy).
Corruption is discussed freely and forgivingly in one place - but concealed
shamefully in another. Corruption, like other crimes, is probably seriously
under-reported and under-penalized.

Moreover, bribing officials is often the unstated policy of multinationals,
foreign investors, and expatriates. Many of them believe that it is
inevitable if one is to expedite matters or secure a beneficial outcome.
Rich world governments turn a blind eye, even where laws against such
practices are extant and strict.

In his address to the Inter-American Development Bank on March 14, President
Bush promised to "reward nations that root out corruption" within the
framework of the Millennium Challenge Account initiative. The USA has
pioneered global anti-corruption campaigns and is a signatory to the 1996
IAS Inter-American Convention against Corruption, the Council of Europe's
Criminal Law Convention on Corruption, and the OECD's 1997 anti-bribery
convention. The USA has had a comprehensive "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act"
since 1977.

The Act applies to all American firms, to all firms - including foreign
ones - traded in an American stock exchange, and to bribery on American
territory by foreign and American firms alike. It outlaws the payment of
bribes to foreign officials, political parties, party officials, and
political candidates in foreign countries. A similar law has now been
adopted by Britain.

Yet, "The Economist" reports that the American SEC has brought only three
cases against listed companies until 1997. The US Department of Justice
brought another 30 cases. Britain has persecuted successfully only one of
its officials for overseas bribery since 1889. In the Netherlands bribery is
tax deductible. Transparency International now publishes a name and shame
Bribery Payers Index to complement its 91-country strong Corruption
Perceptions Index.

Many rich world corporations and wealthy individuals make use of off-shore
havens or "special purpose entities" to launder money, make illicit
payments, avoid or evade taxes, and conceal assets or liabilities. According
to Swiss authorities, more than $40 billion are held by Russians in its
banking system alone. The figure may be 5 to 10 times higher in the tax
havens of the United Kingdom.

In a survey it conducted last month of 82 companies in which it invests,
"Friends, Ivory, and Sime" found that only a quarter had clear
anti-corruption management and accountability systems in place.

Tellingly only 35 countries signed the 1997 OECD "Convention on Combating
Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business
Transactions" - including four non-OECD members: Chile, Argentina, Bulgaria,
and Brazil. The convention has been in force since February 1999 and is only
one of many OECD anti-corruption drives, among which are SIGMA (Support for
Improvement in Governance and Management in Central and Eastern European
countries), ACN (Anti-Corruption Network for Transition Economies in
Europe), and FATF (the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering).

Moreover, The moral authority of those who preach against corruption in poor
countries - the officials of the IMF, the World Bank, the EU, the OECD - is
strained by their ostentatious lifestyle, conspicuous consumption, and
"pragmatic" morality.

II. What to Do? What is Being Done?

Two years ago, I proposed a taxonomy of corruption, venality, and graft. I
suggested this cumulative definition:

1.. The withholding of a service, information, or goods that, by law, and
by right, should have been provided or divulged.
2.. The provision of a service, information, or goods that, by law, and by
right, should not have been provided or divulged.
3.. That the withholding or the provision of said service, information, or
goods are in the power of the withholder or the provider to withhold or to
provide AND That the withholding or the provision of said service,
information, or goods constitute an integral and substantial part of the
authority or the function of the withholder or the provider.
4.. That the service, information, or goods that are provided or divulged
are provided or divulged against a benefit or the promise of a benefit from
the recipient and as a result of the receipt of this specific benefit or the
promise to receive such benefit.
5.. That the service, information, or goods that are withheld are withheld
because no benefit was provided or promised by the recipient.
There is also what the World Bank calls "State Capture" defined thus:

"The actions of individuals, groups, or firms, both in the public and
private sectors, to influence the formation of laws, regulations, decrees,
and other government policies to their own advantage as a result of the
illicit and non-transparent provision of private benefits to public
officials."

We can classify corrupt and venal behaviors according to their outcomes:

1.. Income Supplement - Corrupt actions whose sole outcome is the
supplementing of the income of the provider without affecting the "real
world" in any manner.
2.. Acceleration or Facilitation Fees - Corrupt practices whose sole
outcome is to accelerate or facilitate decision making, the provision of
goods and services or the divulging of information.
3.. Decision Altering (State Capture) Fees - Bribes and promises of bribes
which alter decisions or affect them, or which affect the formation of
policies, laws, regulations, or decrees beneficial to the bribing entity or
person.
4.. Information Altering Fees - Backhanders and bribes that subvert the
flow of true and complete information within a society or an economic unit
(for instance, by selling professional diplomas, certificates, or permits).
5.. Reallocation Fees - Benefits paid (mainly to politicians and political
decision makers) in order to affect the allocation of economic resources and
material wealth or the rights thereto. Concessions, licenses, permits,
assets privatized, tenders awarded are all subject to reallocation fees.
To eradicate corruption, one must tackle both giver and taker.

History shows that all effective programs shared these common elements:

1.. The persecution of corrupt, high-profile, public figures,
multinationals, and institutions (domestic and foreign). This demonstrates
that no one is above the law and that crime does not pay.

2.. The conditioning of international aid, credits, and investments on a
monitored reduction in corruption levels. The structural roots of corruption
should be tackled rather than merely its symptoms.

3.. The institution of incentives to avoid corruption, such as a higher
pay, the fostering of civic pride, "good behavior" bonuses, alternative
income and pension plans, and so on.

4.. In many new countries (in Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe) the very
concepts of "private" versus "public" property are fuzzy and impermissible
behaviors are not clearly demarcated. Massive investments in education of
the public and of state officials are required.

5.. Liberalization and deregulation of the economy. Abolition of red tape,
licensing, protectionism, capital controls, monopolies, discretionary,
non-public, procurement. Greater access to information and a public debate
intended to foster a "stakeholder society".

6.. Strengthening of institutions: the police, the customs, the courts,
the government, its agencies, the tax authorities - under time limited
foreign management and supervision.

Awareness to corruption and graft is growing - though it mostly results in
lip service. The Global Coalition for Africa adopted anti-corruption
guidelines in 1999. The otherwise opaque Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) forum is now championing transparency and good governance. The UN is
promoting its pet convention against corruption.

The G-8 asked its Lyon Group of senior experts on transnational crime to
recommend ways to fight corruption related to large money flows and money
laundering. The USA and the Netherlands hosted global forums on corruption -
as will South Korea next year. The OSCE is rumored to respond with its own
initiative, in collaboration with the US Congressional Helsinki Commission.

The south-eastern Europe Stability Pact sports its own Stability Pact
Anti-corruption Initiative (SPAI). It held its first conference in September
2001 in Croatia. More than 1200 delegates participated in the 10th
International Anti-Corruption Conference in Prague last year. The conference
was attended by the Czech prime minister, the Mexican president, and the
head of the Interpol.

The most potent remedy against corruption is sunshine - free, accessible,
and available information disseminated and probed by an active opposition,
uncompromised press, and assertive civic organizations and NGO's. In the
absence of these, the fight against official avarice and criminality is
doomed to failure. With them, it stands a chance.

Corruption can never be entirely eliminated - but it can be restrained and
its effects confined. The cooperation of good people with trustworthy
institutions is indispensable. Corruption can be defeated only from the
inside, though with plenty of outside help. It is a process of
self-redemption and self-transformation. It is the real transition.

III. Asset Confiscation and Asset Forfeiture

The abuse of asset confiscation and forfeiture statutes by governments, law
enforcement agencies, and political appointees and cronies throughout the
world is well-documented. In many developing countries and countries in
transition, assets confiscated from real and alleged criminals and tax
evaders are sold in fake auctions to party hacks, cronies, police officers,
tax inspectors, and relatives of prominent politicians at bargain basement
prices.

That the assets of suspects in grave crimes and corruption should be frozen
or "disrupted" until they are convicted or exonerated by the courts - having
exhausted their appeals - is understandable and in accordance with the
Vienna Convention. But there is no justification for the seizure and sale of
property otherwise.

In Switzerland, financial institutions are obliged to automatically freeze
suspect transactions for a period of five days, subject to the review of an
investigative judge. In France, the Financial Intelligence Unit can freeze
funds involved in a reported suspicious transaction by administrative fiat.
In both jurisdictions, the fast track freezing of assets has proven to be a
more than adequate measure to cope with organized crime and venality.

The presumption of innocence must fully apply and due process upheld to
prevent self-enrichment and corrupt dealings with confiscated property,
including the unethical and unseemly use of the proceeds from the sale of
forfeited assets to close gaping holes in strained state and municipal
budgets.

In the United States, according to The Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act of
2000 (HR 1658), the assets of suspects under investigation and of criminals
convicted of a variety of more than 400 minor and major offenses (from
soliciting a prostitute to gambling and from narcotics charges to corruption
and tax evasion) are often confiscated and forfeited ("in personam, or
value-based confiscation").

Technically and theoretically, assets can be impounded or forfeited and
disposed of even in hitherto minor Federal civil offenses (mistakes in
fulfilling Medicare or tax return forms)

The UK's Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) that is in charge of enforcing the
Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, had this chilling statement to make on May 24,
2007:

"We are pursuing the assets of those involved in a wide range of crime
including drug dealing, people trafficking, fraud, extortion, smuggling,
control of prostitution, counterfeiting, benefit fraud, tax evasion and
environmental crimes such as illegal dumping of waste and illegal fishing."
(!)
Drug dealing and illegal fishing in the same sentence.

The British firm Bentley-Jennison, who provide Forensic Accounting Services,
add:

"In some cases the defendants will even have their assets seized at the
start of an investigation, before any charges have been considered. In many
cases the authorities will assume that all of the assets held by the
defendant are illegally obtained as he has a "criminal lifestyle". It is
then down to the defendant to prove otherwise. If the defendant is judged to
have a criminal lifestyle then it will be assumed that physical assets, such
as properties and motor vehicles, have been acquired through the use of
criminal funds and it will be necessary to present evidence to contradict
this.

The defendant's bank accounts will also be scanned for evidence of spending
and any expenditure on unidentified assets (and in some cases identified
assets) is also likely to be included as alleged criminal benefit. This
often leads to the inclusion of sums from legitimate sources and double
counting both of which need to be eliminated."

Under the influence of the post-September 11 United States and the FATF
(Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering), Canada, Australia, the
United Kingdom, Greece, South Korea, and Russia have similar asset recovery
and money laundering laws in place.

International treaties (for instance, the 1959 European Convention on Mutual
Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, the 1990 Convention of the Council of
Europe on Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from
Crime (ETS 141), and The U.N. Convention against Corruption 2003- UNCAC) and
European Union Directives (e.g., 2001/97/EC) allow the seizure and
confiscation of the assets and "unexplained wealth" of criminals and
suspects globally, even if their alleged or proven crime does not constitute
an offense where they own property or have bank accounts.

This abrogation of the principle of dual criminality sometimes leads to
serious violations of human and civil rights. Hitler could have used it to
ask the United Kingdom's Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) to confiscate the
property of refugee Jews who committed "crimes" by infringing on the
infamous Nuremberg race laws.

Only offshore tax havens, such as Andorra, Antigua, Aruba, the British
Virgin Islands, Guernsey, Monaco, the Netherlands Antilles, Samoa, St.
Vincent, the US Virgin Islands, and Vanuatu still resist the pressure to
join in the efforts to trace and seize suspects' assets and bank accounts in
the absence of a conviction or even charges.

Even worse, unlike in other criminal proceedings, the burden of proof is on
the defendant who has to demonstrate that the source of the funds used to
purchase the confiscated or forfeited assets is legal. When the defendant
fails to furnish such evidence conclusively and convincingly, or if he has
left the United States or had died, the assets are sold at an auction and
the proceeds usually revert to various law enforcement agencies, to the
government's budget, or to good social causes and programs. This is the case
in many countries, including United Kingdom, United States, Germany, France,
Hong Kong, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Ireland, New Zealand,
Singapore and Switzerland.

According to a brief written by Jack Smith, Mark Pieth, and Guillermo Jorge
at the Basel Institute on Governance, International Centre for Asset
Recovery:

"Article 54(1)(c) of the UNCAC recommends that states parties establish
non-criminal systems of confiscation, which have several advantages for
recovery actions: the standard of evidence is lower ("preponderance of the
evidence" rather than "beyond a reasonable doubt"); they are not subject to
some of the more restrictive traditional safeguards of international
cooperation such as the offense for which the defendant is accused has to be
a crime in the receiving state (dual criminality); and it opens more formal
avenues for negotiation and settlements. This is already the practice in
some jurisdictions such as the US, Ireland, the UK, Italy, Colombia,
Slovenia, and South Africa, as well as some Australian and Canadian States."

In most countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria,
Germany, Indonesia, Macedonia, and Ireland, assets can be impounded,
confiscated, frozen, forfeited, and even sold prior to and without any
criminal conviction.

In Australia, Austria, Ireland, Hong-Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, United
Kingdom, South Africa, United States and the Netherlands alleged and
suspected criminals, their family members, friends, employees, and partners
can be stripped of their assets even for crimes they have committed in other
countries and even if they have merely made use of revenues obtained from
illicit activities (this is called "in rem, or property-based
confiscation"). This often gives rise to cases of double jeopardy.

Typically, the defendant is notified of the impending forfeiture or
confiscation of his or her assets and has recourse to a hearing within the
relevant law enforcement agency and also to the courts. If he or she can
prove "substantial harm" to life and business, the property may be released
to be used, though ownership is rarely restored.

When the process of asset confiscation or asset forfeiture is initiated,
banking secrecy is automatically lifted and the government indemnifies the
banks for any damage they may suffer for disclosing confidential information
about their clients' accounts.

In many countries from South Korea to Greece, lawyer-client privilege is
largely waived. The same requirements of monitoring of clients' activities
and reporting to the authorities apply to credit and financial institutions,
venture capital firms, tax advisers, accountants, and notaries.

Elsewhere, there are some other worrying developments:

In Bulgaria, the assets of tax evaders have recently begun to be confiscated
and turned over to the National Revenue Agency and the State Receivables
Collection Agency. Property is confiscated even when the tax assessment is
disputed in the courts. The Agency cannot, however, confiscate
single-dwelling houses, bank accounts up to 250 leva of one member of the
family, salary or pension up to 250 leva a month, social care, and alimony,
support money or allowances.

Venezuela has recently reformed its Organic Tax Code to allow for:

" (P)re-judgment enforcement measures (to) include closure of premises for
up to ten days and confiscation of merchandise. These measures will be
applied in addition to the attachment or sequestration of personal property
and the prohibition against alienation or encumbrance of realty. During
closure of premises, the employer must continue to pay workers, thereby
avoiding an appeal for constitutional protection."

Finally, in many states in the United States, "community responsibility"
statutes require of owners of legal businesses to "abate crime" by openly
fighting it themselves. If they fail to tackle the criminals in their
neighborhood, the police can seize and sell their property, including their
apartments and cars. The proceeds from such sales accrue to the local
municipality.

In New-York City, the police confiscated a restaurant because one of its
regular patrons was an alleged drug dealer. In Alabama, police seized the
home of a senior citizen because her yard was used, without her consent, for
drug dealing. In Maryland, the police confiscated a family's home and
converted it into a retreat for its officers, having mailed one of the
occupants a package of marijuana.

Note - The Psychology of Corruption

Most politicians bend the laws of the land and steal money or solicit bribes
because they need the funds to support networks of patronage. Others do it
in order to reward their nearest and dearest or to maintain a lavish
lifestyle when their political lives are over.

But these mundane reasons fail to explain why some officeholders go on a
rampage and binge on endless quantities of lucre. All rationales crumble in
the face of a Mobutu Sese Seko or a Saddam Hussein or a Ferdinand Marcos who
absconded with billions of US dollars from the coffers of Zaire, Iraq, and
the Philippines, respectively.

These inconceivable dollops of hard cash and valuables often remain stashed
and untouched, moldering in bank accounts and safes in Western banks. They
serve no purpose, either political or economic. But they do fulfill a
psychological need. These hoards are not the megalomaniacal equivalents of
savings accounts. Rather they are of the nature of compulsive collections.

Erstwhile president of Sierra Leone, Momoh, amassed hundreds of video
players and other consumer goods in vast rooms in his mansion. As
electricity supply was intermittent at best, his was a curious choice. He
used to sit among these relics of his cupidity, fondling and counting them
insatiably.

While Momoh relished things with shiny buttons, people like Sese Seko,
Hussein, and Marcos drooled over money. The ever-heightening mountains of
greenbacks in their vaults soothed them, filled them with confidence,
regulated their sense of self-worth, and served as a love substitute. The
balances in their bulging bank accounts were of no practical import or
intent. They merely catered to their psychopathology.

These politicos were not only crooks but also kleptomaniacs. They could no
more stop thieving than Hitler could stop murdering. Venality was an
integral part of their psychological makeup.

Kleptomania is about acting out. It is a compensatory act. Politics is a
drab, uninspiring, unintelligent, and, often humiliating business. It is
also risky and rather arbitrary. It involves enormous stress and unceasing
conflict. Politicians with mental health disorders (for instance,
narcissists or psychopaths) react by decompensation. They rob the state and
coerce businessmen to grease their palms because it makes them feel better,
it helps them to repress their mounting fears and frustrations, and to
restore their psychodynamic equilibrium. These politicians and bureaucrats
"let off steam" by looting.

Kleptomaniacs fail to resist or control the impulse to steal, even if they
have no use for the booty. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual IV-TR (2000), the bible of psychiatry, kleptomaniacs feel "pleasure,
gratification, or relief when committing the theft." The good book proceeds
to say that " ... (T)he individual may hoard the stolen objects ...".

As most kleptomaniac politicians are also psychopaths, they rarely feel
remorse or fear the consequences of their misdeeds. But this only makes them
more culpable and dangerous.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
You have probably, by now, seen all of the reasons that you
would like to work from home, and you probably recognize some of
them as the exact reasons you are thinking about doing so.
However, getting started at a work from home job is always the
hardest part because you have to worry so much about what you
are going to be doing at this job. Can you find a work from home
job? Or will you be doing what you are already doing? There are
several steps that you can take to make sure that when you do
find a work from home job you are able to do so easily and that
the job is going to fit your needs exactly.

First of all, you should take inventory of your job right now.
Do you like what you are doing, or do you hate it? Are you only
working where you are because that is the way you have to make
money, or is it something that you really enjoy but you would
rather work from home? This is the first question that you have
to ask yourself so that you will be able to work from home as
easily as possible.

If you like what you are doing ,and you like your job, the
first thing that you should do is sit down with your boss and
see if there is any way that you can do your job at home. Some
employers are really going to latch onto this because it has
been proven that people who work from home are often much better
able to do their work and to get it done sooner. Therefore, your
boss might allow you to do what you are doing now from the
comfort of your own home. You might still have to go to the
office occasionally for meetings or to do other things, but if
you talk to your boss you might find out that you are able to do
what you are doing in a much more easy way. The other thing that
you could do if your boss is not happy with you working form
home is to look for another employer that will employ you to do
what you are doing now, except will allow you to do it from
home. This is something that is also possible for you because it
will end up being very easy for you to find a job where you are
working from home.

If you do not like your job now and can't do it at home anyway,
you should start to look for work from home jobs. Remember that
this is going to be a search that might take awhile, so don't
quit what you are doing in the meantime. Start with something
that you love to do and branch out from there. Be careful about
work from home jobs, and be sure that you are able to explore

A Reservation in an Hotel on Guadeloupe is something that many
people do, but if you just fancy the look of the hotel but know
nothing about Guadeloupe Island, it might be a good idea to do
some investigating .

Guadeloupe isn't France but a French Overseas Department, and
in many ways is more France than its homeland itself. It is to
France what Hawaii is to the United States. Until 2003 St
Barthelemy, otherwise known at St Barts and St Martin were part
of Guadeloupe but are now independently affiliated to France.

To look at Guadeloupe on a map and it looks butterfly wings
connected by a bridge, and is in fact two islands, and the more
north east wing is Grande-Terre, where Pointe-a-Pitre the main
centre for commerce and the main seaport is to be found.

It is known for its white sand beaches, rolling hills, cane
fields and this is almost certainly where your Guadeloupe Hotel
Reservation will be made if you decide to come here. The best
white sand beaches on Grande-Terre includes Ste. Anne, St
Francois and Le Moule

The south west wing is called Basse-Terre, which is the larger
of the two islands, where you will find waterfalls, a botanical
garden, and a volcano which overlooks the waterfalls which in
turn spray cool mists to soak the too adventurous visitor.

There is no doubt that Basse Terre has the main tourist
attraction in La Soufriere Volcano almost five thousand feet
above sea level. It is surrounded by the National Park a
renowned rain forest, and in turn by beautiful deep blue seas.
This is where you come for the diving which is so good it has
been described as world class. There are darker sand beaches
here, amongst the best of which are Grande Anse, and Deshaies.

The two butterfly shaped joined islands of Guadeloupe do have a
number of things in common which includes delicious cuisine and
genuine West Indian hospitality from really friendly people.

So you want to make a Reservation for an Hotel in Guadeloupe,
and you want suggestions. This is always very difficult because
reviews are so subjective, but the number one hotel in Basse
Terre is probably Caraib'Bay Hotel. The top hotel in the St
Francois beach area is the Amaudo Hotel. Close to the white sand
beach of Ste. Anne your best bet may well be the Hotel Le
Diwali. Of the hotels in Terre de Haut you couldn't do better
than L'Auberge les Petits Saints aux Anacardies.

If you want to stay in Gosier then choose Le Mahogany Hotel ,
and the top hotel in Pointe-a-Pitre is Le Jardin Malanga, or go
to Marie-Galante and choose the Cap Reva.

Whilst the list isn't endless, there are 94 hotels on
Guadeloupe that you could make a reservation at, and so you are
very much spoilt for choice.

Guadeloupe has much for its visitors to do from beachcombing,
sea diving, jungle exploring, or just lying relaxing on a white
sand beach. Why not make a Reservation in a Guadeloupe Hotel,
and find out for yourself.

By the way the food owes much to its French origins, as does
the wines, so you can expect fresh food, which is fabulous, with
a leaning towards seafood, all of course with a strong Caribbean
influence.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
The early signs of pregnancy usually begin for most women
during the first few weeks following conception, and some even
before their first missed menstrual cycle. The symptoms will
vary in intensity and type, although a missed menstrual period
is usually the first sign of pregnancy noticed by most women.

Here are the other most common signs and symptoms of early
pregnancy:

- Tender Breasts: Besides a missed period, swollen or tender
breasts may be experienced within the first few weeks of
pregnancy. Some women also report a feeling of fullness or
heaviness, as well as a tingling sensation in the breasts in the
first month or so following conception.

- Nausea: Nausea, often accompanied by vomiting, and queasiness
are one of the early signs of pregnancy known as "morning
sickness," although these symptoms can appear any time of the
day or night contrary to the popular name. As early as two weeks
after conception, some women may begin feeling queasy or notice
an aversion to certain foods or aromas. Rising estrogen levels,
which actually cause the stomach to empty slower, may be to
blame for feeling nauseous during the early weeks and months of
pregnancy.

- Unusual Fatigue: In addition to increased estrogen, levels of
another hormone, progesterone, also rapidly increase, causing an
unusual feeling of tiredness. This coupled with a decline in
blood sugar and blood pressure all work together to deplete
one's energy. Changes in hormone levels may also contribute to
frequent headaches early in pregnancy.

- Constipation: Increased progesterone may also cause
constipation as digested foods tend to pass through the
intestines slower than normal.

- Frequent Urination: Frequent urination is a symptom of
pregnancy that usually will continue on throughout the entire
pregnancy due to hormone levels and increased pressure on the
bladder.

- Bleeding and/or Cramping: Some pregnant women will experience
a small amount of vaginal bleeding which is referred to as
implantation bleeding, or some abdominal cramping similar to
those felt during menstruation. Implantation bleeding occurs 10
to 14 days following fertilization as the newly fertilized egg
attaches itself to the thickened lining of the uterus.

- Mood Swings: The first three months of pregnancy are often
characterized by frequent mood swings or periods of irritability
due to the influx of hormones.

- Feeling Faint, or Dizzy: Low blood sugar levels, a drop in
blood pressure, and the dilation of blood vessels may cause
feelings of dizziness or faintness.

- Changes in Eating Habits: Food cravings are a rather common
sign of early pregnancy, with many women finding themselves
liking certain foods they never did before, or even having an
aversion to those that were once favorites. Cravings, like most
symptoms of pregnancy, are due to the increase and fluctuation
of hormone levels.

- Increased Basal Body Temperature: Basal body temperature, the
temperature of the body upon first awakening in the morning,
increases slightly after a woman ovulates, and stays at that
increased level until their next menstrual cycle. If the
increase lasts longer than 14 days, this may be an accurate
indication of pregnancy.

It's important to remember that many early signs of pregnancy
are slight, subtle changes that you may not recognize right
away. Alternately, most symptoms are not totally unique to
pregnancy and may actually be due to a number of other
conditions or illnesses. The best way to find out what may be
causing your symptoms is to take a home pregnancy test, and then
make an appointment with your health care provider.

Lhasa China isn't everybody's idea of a vacation destination
although Lhasa remains one of the most apparently remote
mysterious, and even romantic places on earth. Once completely
inaccessible it still isn't easy to get to, and then when you
do, there is the question of where do you find a decent Lhasa
Hotel.

The House of Shambhala could well be the perfect answer, and
whilst it may not be the perfect example of a luxury boutique
hotel it nevertheless by anyone's standards it is a unique small
boutique hotel only recently opened in Lhasa Tibet, now of
course in China. It is certainly vastly preferable to the
faceless Chinese hotels to be found in Lhasa.

The House of Shambala is quite unlike anything that most people
have ever seen in terms of it being an hotel.

It is situated in the Barkhor area in the historic heart of old
Lhasa, and it looks like nothing at all as you enter off the
street. In fact you will wonder if your guide has brought you to
the right place as you pass a row of prayer wheels, then
suddenly you find yourself in a traditional Tibetan Lhasa House
which has quite obviously been lovingly restored, and turned
into a real funky boutique hotel

The House of Shambalha is the kind of house where a nobleman
would have lived, and is three storeyed, built around a
courtyard, with prayer wheels and a shrine in the lobby.

There are 10 bedrooms and each is different from the other in
size and design, painted in gold, saffron, crimson, or cinnamon,
and filled with hand painted antiques, meditation chairs, yoga
mats, furry white rugs, and exquisite Buddhist paintings. The
whole thing has a real sort of Medieval feel to it, with the
stone walls and wooden floors. The pillows and lampshades have
the eyes of Buddha and all the nooks and crannies have yak
butter lamps throwing shadows and emphasising the medieval feel
to the place.

The beds are raised onto a Chinese style platform which just
goes to emphasise the whole traditional feel of the place.

The ensuite bathrooms have stone walled showers, heat lamps
which are needed and fragrant Tibetan soaps.

If you can, book an upper floor room because they get more of
the sun, or alternatively if you want privacy there are two
rooms which form their own courtyard, with their own separate
staircase.

The view from the roof of the House of Shambhala, whilst
sipping a local cocktail and watching some local dancers is
absolutely breathtaking, and is just one of the things to make
this a unique luxury boutique hotel. The second of course is the
position astride a lane deep in old Lhasa Tibet.

Unexpectedly the rooms are warm even with snow on the ground,
and there is unlimited hot water.

The restaurant has great food, a mixture of Indian, Tibetan,
Chinese and Oriental with absolutely stunning tikka.
Surprisingly the yak meat is delicious and well worth trying.

The Spa next door has a wonderful soaking tub, and you can have
a superb massage to round of a day spent wandering around Lhasa.

The staff are all friendly and very willing, although their
understanding of English is less than perfect, but this is Lhasa
after all!

If Lhasa Tibet China is somewhere you want to go, then the
House of Shambhala is the best place to stay, very comfortable
and ideally situated to see old Lhasa.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
A trip away from home takes a lot of time and planning.
Wouldn't it be nice to eliminate most of the hassle right up
front? This can start with the very travel items that you will
be taking with you. Have you considered that some of the things
that slow you down or hinder your experience could be as basic
as carrying the wrong luggage bag? Take a moment to think about
a few key points that can add up when it comes to baggage. How
you walk and whether or not you have any physical limitations
can play a large role in the comfort of your travel experience.

Once you've evaluated your personal needs, shopping for a
leather luggage bag you can trust becomes much easier. Knowing
why you need a certain kind of bag makes selection a breeze by
decreasing the time you spend looking for one. If all it takes
to make you happy is a traditional leather case, then you're
ready to go. However, today we are able to demand more in the
way of quality and efficiency so explore other avenues of
luggage bag collections.

Who you plan on traveling with should be taken into
consideration when making your selection. If it's a family event
you may find it in your best interest to use rolling duffel bags
for the kids. This makes it easy for them to take charge of
their own bag without having to carry it. Of course that means
less complaining for you to carry it for them because it's too
bulky or heavy.

Making the choice between a traditional versus wheeled luggage
bag isn't usually all that complicated. Physical injury, baggage
weight and personal preference are all factors in your decision.
Pushing the bag in front of you or pulling it beside frees your
arms from constant lifting. Your back will also thank you if
you're the type that loads a lifetime into a travel bag. A bag
with multiple compartments will help with weight distribution
overall as well as the elimination of clutter.

An essential accessory that goes hand in hand with your bag is
a travel wallet. It's necessary for the safe keeping of your
personal information so please don't make the mistake of
thinking you don't need one. Cramming important identification
and airline tickets into your pocket or purse is risky at best.
Keep these personal items confined and secure in a stylish
travel or document holder. Take into account potential valuables
you may be carrying. A travel valet tray is a guaranteed way to
store wedding rings and watches to prevent theft or loss. Small
enough to hide, the tray can be kept out of sight from would be
thieves.

Traveling in style and comfort should be a rewarding part of
the experience, not a chaotic scramble to leave nothing behind.
Get the most out of your vacation or business trip by choosing
leather luggage bags that boast of luxury and relieve
unnecessary panic attacks. Sit back and relax because your trip
is too important to be ruined by hidden hassles.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
In addition to a house, buying a new vehicle is another choice
people will make in their lifetime. If you don't have the money
upfront to buy it outright, then you'll be spending hours at the
dealership trying to negotiate the best deal for you. It's no
different if you're looking to get an SUV, or sport utility
vehicle.

SUVs usually cost more than regular compact vehicles. There are
several things to consider if you are looking to purchase one.
First, you must determine if you really need an SUV at the
present moment. Will you need it just for yourself or will you
be transporting others? This can determine what kind you will
get.

It's nice to want the larger SUVs, but keep in mind, if you
won't be using it to transport people or lots of items at least
a few times a month, then you should forego it. That's not to
say that you can't ever get one. However, you have to think
about the other costs involved when purchasing a big ticket
item. You can't look to impress others if you can barely keep
the vehicle fueled up and keep it regularly maintained.

You should know how much you want to spend on an SUV; rather
how much you can spend on one. Just because you may be able to
afford a large one doesn't mean you have to get it right away.
You have to take fuel costs, maintenance and future repairs into
consideration. Your vehicle will eventually need repairs later
from wear and tear.

With fuel costs, you have to spend more money for SUVs because
their tanks are bigger. Depending on how much you drive, you may
have to fuel up several times a week. You must also take into
account gas prices, which can increase or decrease.

In addition to the above, you have to figure out costs for
license plates and stickers for your SUVs. It usually costs more
if you have a larger one. This is not a one-time fee either;
this fee is due every year. Upon your purchase, the dealer
includes taxes on the vehicle. Before you leave the dealership,
you must have auto insurance. The newer the vehicle, the more
you will have to pay.

If you don't have all the cash upfront, you will have to
finance. One of the easier ways to finance is to go to your
banking center or credit union and get a loan from them. That
way, you'll already know what you'll be paying. If you get it
financed through the dealership, forget about them looking out
for you. It rarely happens, if ever. They want to get as much
money out of the deal as possible. You can avoid this headache
if you're able to get a loan from your financial institution or
pay it full yourself.

It can be to your advantage to have someone accompany you to
the dealership. It can be someone who may have some knowledge
about purchasing vehicles. This will help you a great deal. They
can also help you from getting yourself into something you may
regret later. If the deal is not right for you, then by all
means, pass on it.

Don't be in a hurry to purchase an SUV. Take your time so you
will be pleased with whatever you get. If you have to come back
later, let the salesperson know. Also, don't allow the
salesperson to pressure you into getting something that you're
not ready for. They're looking to get that commission. If you're
not satisfied with the dealership, go to another one. There are
many dealerships that would be happy to serve you.

When you find that SUV, you'll be happy that you waited. You
won't have any nightmares wondering about whether you can pay
for it or not because you'll have a peace about it.

Article Title: Negotiating Your Way To An Affordable Mortgage

If you are in the process of obtaining a mortgage you should
know that there are a lot of fees that you can negotiate to make
your mortgage even more affordable. When it comes to your
mortgage you should not be afraid to negotiate, as these are
fees and such that you will be paying on for as long as 30
years.

Other fees are those that you will have to pay as a part of
closing costs and anyone who has ever bought a house knows how
fast closing costs can add up. Many a new homeowner has
suffered a serious case of sticker shock when they show up at
their closing.

Negotiating Your Fees

When you negotiate your mortgage fees you can save hundreds,
thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars. For this
reason, you should seek to negotiate every possible fee that
there is. Many consumers believe that just because the fee is
printed out that it is something that they have to pay, but this
is not true. When you receive your mortgage quote or good faith
estimate you should pour over it with a fine tooth come.

One of the main areas that you will want to focus on is the
lender and broker fee. These fees are often broken down into
points, for instance a $500,000 loan that will charge you two
points as a broker means that the broker is receiving $10,000
for the work on your loan. Does the broker really need to make
this much? Probably not, but unless you negotiate he will!

Another area that you will want to look at is if you are being
charged to buy down your loan. Many lenders allow for you to
pay to lower the interest rate of your mortgage loan, but you
should look at this and see if you cannot negotiate down the
charges or do away with them altogether. You may also find an
origination fee, which is basically a charge to you for
borrowing the money, but aren't you already paying interest?

If you see an underwriting or document drawing fee you should
know that these are probably not negotiable. These are often
charges that are set in stone, but you need not worry about
these charges as these are not the big ones that will make a
huge difference. Be sure to look at all of the big numbers, as
these are often the ones that can be negotiated down to help you
achieve a more affordable mortgage and closing process.

Many lenders take advantage of the fact that most consumers do
not know that they can negotiate fees associated with their
mortgage and so they will charge as much as is possible. You
simply need to carefully look over all your estimates and ensure
that everything looks right, at least to you, if it seems high,
it probably is, which means that it is probably negotiable.
Don't be afraid to ask, the worst thing they can say is no. And
that is not a big deal.

Commercial mortgages interest rates can be found cheaper if you
go online with a specialist provider. They are not the easiest
thing to understand and if you do not take advice then it could
take a great deal of time not to mention paying too much.
Brokers will have the experience of working with lenders who are
known to offer the cheapest rates of interest and best deal.

Commercial mortgages can be used for many ventures such as if
you already have a business and want to expand it, or to buy new
premises to get a business off the ground. Any mortgage will be
based on the individual's circumstances and what the loan will
be used for. The type of business will reflect on the mortgage
and in some cases a lender can refuse a loan based on the type
of business. A broker will take all this into account and stick
with lenders who they know will deal with them.

One of the biggest pluses when it comes to qualifying for
commercial mortgages and for the cheapest interest rates is your
credit rating. An excellent rating will get you off to the best
start possible. However if your credit rating is less than
perfect a broker will find lenders who specialise in offering
finance to those with poor credit ratings.

One of the factors that all lenders will take into account
before lending you money is your business proposal. If you have
yet to start out then your plans should be laid out properly and
a broker can help. If you already have a business then you will
need to show long term financial projections. You will also have
to show that your venture is stable and making a profit.

A broker will always be able to find you the best deal possible
as they can search with the whole of the market place if needed.
Although the majority of time they will know where to go to get
you the cheapest rates of interest and the best deal possible
for your particular circumstances.

The majority of lenders will offer a maximum of 70% to 80% for
the loan but sometimes a broker can get 100% for you. With this
in mind you would have to be able to get the remainder of the
money together and thought has to be given to this before going
for the loan. Commercial mortgages can usually be taken out from
1 to over 30 years and this will depend on the size of the
project you are proposing and the circumstances of the business.
With any loan you are considering taking out there will be many
other factors that have to be taken into consideration. You have
to decide if you are going for an interest only mortgage or a
repayment. You also have to give some thought to a fixed rate of
variable but again a specialist can help you decide which is
most suitable. However always read the terms and conditions that
come with your mortgage before signing on the bottom line.

Article Title: Interest Rates For Bad Credit Secured Loans Can
Be Vary So Compare Them Online

================== ARTICLE START ==================
The rate of interest that you can expect to pay on bad credit
secured loans can vary so it is important that you shop around
for the cheapest. While you have to compare the rates you also
have to compare the small print of any loan you are considering
taking out. The small print can add additional costs and it is
where you can find the terms and conditions, including the total
amount you will repay.

A bad credit secured loan can usually be the only option you
have for finance if you have a bad credit score. Your credit
score is one of most important factors that is taken is taken
into account by lenders. If a lender thinks you are a risk then
you will not be approved for the loan. A secured loan means that
you will have to put up your home as security against the amount
of money you are borrowing. The amount that you are usually able
to borrow will depend on the amount of equity you have in your
home. The equity is decided by subtracting the amount left to
pay on your mortgage away from the value of your home, what is
left is called the spare equity.

As you are taking out a secured loan it is essential that the
reason for taking out the loan outweighs the risk of your home
being secured against it. If you were to run into problems then
you would risk losing it to repossession. However this type of
loan can actually help to repair your bad credit rating if you
repay it back without any problems.

Bad credit secured loans do vary greatly in both the rates of
interest and the small print so when comparing the quotes also
compare the key facts. If you go with a specialist website for
your quotes then you will be able to get them altogether on one
page which makes comparing easier. Along with this you usually
have the advantage of being given the key facts of the loan
which again is needed for comparison. The key facts of the loan
will give you information such as the interest rate, how much
interest you will pay in full and the total amount repayable. It
will also tell you if there are additional costs such as an
early repayment fee. Some lenders will add in a clause which
states if you take a loan out for say 10 years and want to pay
it up in 6 then you have to pay a lump sum.

Interest rates for bad credit secured loans do vary but if you
go with a specialist website and search the whole of the UK
marketplace you can be sure of finding the cheapest. When taking
out a secured loan always give some thought to taking out loan
payment protection as this can be a lifeline if you were to come
out of work. However it is not suitable for all circumstances
and you have to shop around for the cheapest premiums.
